War within

Spiritual health is founded on universal respect and inner peace. True well-being requires respecting all religions, cultures, and nations, wishing for the happiness of others as for our own. The ancient wisdom declares the whole world is one family. When we see everyone as brothers and sisters, there is no one to fight. The conflicts we see externally originate from the war within ourselves. The primary happiness is a healthy body, but lasting happiness comes from inner contentment. Poverty is defined by endless wanting, while true richness is freedom from desire and longing. The root of all distraction and conflict is the ego, the sense of "I" and "my."

"First happiness is your healthy body, and then it is 'the person who is satisfied inside is ever happy.'"

"The poor are those who want to have more and more. The rich are those who don't want it, without longing, without desire."

Filming location: Wellington, New Zealand

Spiritual health is respect and tolerance towards every religion, respect for every culture, and understanding towards every nation. If you live in New Zealand, you say, "My country is best, and we are very happy, and everything is good. Thanks to God, everything is good." But we shall work and wish that our neighboring country is also like this. And therefore it is said, "Sarve Bhavantu Sukhinaḥ." In the Upaniṣads they said, "Sarve Bhavantu Sukhinaḥ." All should be healthy and happy. "Vasudhaiva Kuṭumbakam." The whole world is one family of one God. We are all brothers and sisters. When there is brotherhood, and when we see everyone as our own brothers and sisters, then against whom should we fight? And you know, at present, again, humanity is going through a terrible situation of war. There has been fighting for many, many ages, but now humans are fighting in a different way. Why do humans create war? Because war is within themselves. And when you have war within you, then you create war outside. "Pahala sukha nīrogī kāya." First happiness is your healthy body, and then it is "santoṣī nara sadā sukhī." The person who is satisfied inside is ever happy. Who is poor? The poor are those who want to have more and more. Who is rich? The rich are those who don't want it, without longing, without desire. Fighting for power, fighting for position, and fighting for that ego—it is said, "I." "I" and "my" are the source of all distraction.
