Inner and outer world

Bhajan is the supreme path for understanding God and oneself. It is the soul's call, the sole support in this age for crossing worldly existence. Within resides a lonely, longing being seeking not to be loved, but to love—a screen for projecting inner feelings. This inner film is your reality, expressing your consciousness. Yet it cannot become the outer world shared by all. It is difficult to shape the common world to match your private inner world. Attempting this brings suffering, for the inner world is changeable. One must instead correct and change the inner world.

Worldly pursuits are like toys, providing temporary happiness before one seeks another. Even turning to God can become such a transient toy. One ultimately searches for the permanent, found through the Master and satsaṅg, realizing everlasting bliss. However, the inner self keeps changing, so problems may return. Ensure your foundation and remain steadfast upon it. You will find what you truly seek, whether in this life or another.

"In the Kali Yuga, the Name of God is the sole support; by remembering it, one crosses the ocean of worldly existence."

"It is not that we are seeking someone to love us, but rather we are looking for someone whom we can love."

Filming location: Strilky, Czech Republic

Bhajan is the best way to understand God and to understand oneself. Bhajans are like prayers; they are like mantras. Different devotees and seekers have different ways of calling upon God. A Jñāna Yogī, a Rāja Yogī, and a Karma Yogī each have different feelings and approaches. For a Bhakti Yogī, it is said: "Kali Yuga kevala nāma ādhāra, sumir sumir narhoi bhavapāra." In the Kali Yuga, the Name of God is the sole support; by remembering it, one crosses the ocean of worldly existence. Bhakti yoga is the best way to transcend, and it is called the call of the soul. There is someone sitting within us who feels lonely, lost, scared, and full of longing. It is not that we are seeking someone to love us, but rather we are looking for someone whom we can love. We are searching for a screen upon which we can project our inner feelings. Our inner film is a chapter of our life; it is the reality of our being. It expresses very clearly the state of your being and your consciousness. Yet, projecting this inner world outwardly is not possible, because your inner world cannot be the world of everyone. The outer world is the common world for all. Birds want to see this world differently. Animals want to see it differently. I want to see it differently. Every creature seeks to create an environment according to its own requirements and nature. Therefore, it is very difficult to shape the outer world according to your inner feelings and your inner world. You must be sure of your path. Otherwise, you will make a mistake, and that mistake will bring you suffering sooner or later. This suffering arises because you were not contemplating deeply and you tried to change the world to match your inner world. That cannot be, for after some time, you may no longer wish to see the world you tried to create. Your inner world is changeable, so one should always try to correct and change the inner world. For a small child, the happiness of the whole world lies in toys. A toy is happiness for the child. As soon as the child grows up, he searches for other toys, for he automatically knows the old one is just a toy. Yet, at any stage, you may think that all the happiness in the world resides in the "toy" you are currently searching for. You find a partner and believe all joy and happiness is in that relationship. But very soon, you will have had enough of this "toy." Then you will look for another toy, and that is the spiritual toy. You turn to God, but very soon you may give up on this as well. You will search for something permanent, and then you will meet the Master who will tell you what to do. You will go to satsaṅg, and there you may realize permanent, everlasting bliss. But again, your inner self is changing, and then all problems can return. Therefore, make sure of your foundation and remain steadfast upon it. Then you search for what you truly want to have. It may take a lifetime, or several lives. Do not worry. You will come back, whether you believe it or not.
