Live and let live

A closing discourse on spiritual responsibility and conscious living.

"Be a light. When someone comes to you speaking ill or against another, that is a darkness. As soon as it reaches you, it should be enlightened."

"Speak such a language that while speaking, you are happy and you make others happy. Measure every sentence, every word; measure in your heart how heavy it is."

A spiritual teacher addresses participants at the end of an eight-day program, offering final guidance. He emphasizes the power and responsibility of human consciousness and speech, advising listeners to be a transformative light for negativity and to use words with great care. He instructs them to bring positive energy home, to share teachings humbly, and to focus on creating peace within their own lives as the foundation for broader harmony.

You should be a light. When someone comes to you speaking ill or against another, that is a darkness. As soon as it reaches you, it should be enlightened. Therefore, we must rearrange our way of thinking. Help is available. There is cosmic help. There is an immense, immense, harmonious, and divine energy. It possesses the capacity to unite the entire universe again into one heart, into oneness. Humans have that ability. Human consciousness contains that space. Consequently, human consciousness must not be polluted. Otherwise, there will be suffering, life after life. This is our chance to make our lives happy—happy in this world and in the other world. Thus it is said: live and let live. Be happy and let others be happy. Be protected and be protective. The human spirit is the most divine spirit. Within this human body, that awakened consciousness dwells. Within that human heart, so that humans should be able to embrace all. Humans should be friendly to all, because humans know what sorrow and misery are. Therefore, a human can remove another's sorrows and miseries. Conversely, humans can create sorrows and miseries. Often, it is the words, the speech of the human. The word of a human is more destructive than atom bombs. Hence it is said: speak such a language that while speaking, you are happy and you make others happy. That is why they say: speak a language that makes you happy and makes others happy too. Measure every sentence, every word; measure in your heart how heavy it is. For we mostly create enemies through our stupid ignorance—because we do not overthink and we speak immediately. Speaking is quicker; it takes no time. It is like a bullet. Thus it is said three things do not come back: the bullet that has left the gun, the word that has left your mouth, and the life that has left the body. All this we must take care of. Many people have consultations with me. Many people have many questions, but this is the answer to everyone's questions. Everyone who wishes to have a consultation is already answered. These are my valuable pieces of advice for you. They are not my own product, but they are the Guruvākyā, the teachings, of many, many saints. Now, after this eight-day program here in Vipa, you will return home tomorrow. That is very good. Your friends and your families are waiting for you. You should bring them good energy. You should bring them good spiritual energy. What you have learned, teach further; explain it. That is very important. But do not explain as if you were the master, otherwise it will not function. You come home and begin to give a lecture to your husband. He will be very polite. He will say, "Yes, dear, very interesting. But I was missing good food. Can you go into the kitchen and cook first, and then we will talk?" So your partner, your children, or anyone will immediately notice with what kind of feeling you are speaking to them. Life is yours, and it is in your hands. Make your life comfortable and happy, and make others' lives comfortable and happy as well. There is a beautiful prayer from a holy friend from Assisi: "Let me bring love where there is sorrow. Let me bring happiness where there is suffering. Let me be the instrument, let me be the bridge." He truly meant this; he did not merely sing it. That is it. So we should also truly mean it—that at least the people you know, you make happy and peaceful. If you are not happy and peaceful within your own small group, how will you achieve world peace? That would be like a small bird dreaming of lifting an entire mountain and flying away. She thinks she can lift a little piece of grass or a stone and carry it. You speak of multiculturalism and religious freedom, but you yourself do not understand what religion is, and you yourself have no freedom. You speak of peace, of world peace, but you have no peace even within your own self. Therefore, Mahātmā Gandhījī said, "Be the change you want to see." Mahātmā Gandhījī said, "No matter who is doing what, who is saying what, and who is who, you have nothing to do with that." You have to concern yourself with only one thing, and that is your real Self. So do not torture yourself in this body. Recording location: Hungary, Vep, Summer Seminar
