Spirits

The visible world is illusion, but the invisible spirit is real. Where there are people, there is colorful beauty. Where there are trees, there is cool shade. Yet when examined, the trees appear sad, and places without people feel like ghost castles. We are the visible ghosts who still greet each other. The invisible ghosts are those spirits liberated from this plane, for they were free from the beginning. They exist between worlds, unable to become fully visible. Sensitive people may perceive them. They can be helped through prayers and offerings, such as giving food to birds, animals, or the hungry. Performing good acts in their name is beneficial. When you give a donation, you are not fulfilling an obligation but doing something good for yourself. A story tells of a master of black magic who could not summon ghosts in the presence of his disciple, a knower of Brahman. The ghosts were liberated merely by the disciple's unseen presence. Where you go, no negative spirit will remain if you repeat your mantra, say prayers, and keep the sacred focus. You are now pure through spiritual practice, gathering, and partaking of blessed food and air. This divine intoxication must be maintained, lest worldly illusion slowly diminish your detachment. Therefore, repeat and return.

"Where there are humans, there is a colorful māyā, a beauty. Where there are trees, there is a nice, cool shade."

"I may tell you with great confidence: all negative energies will disappear and purify."

There is a saying in the Rajasthani dialect: minkorī māyā, rukhorī sāyā. Where there are humans, there is a colorful māyā, a beauty. Where there are trees, there is a nice, cool shade. But when you check, all the trees look sad, and when the people are gone, it is like a ghost castle. We are the living ghosts—at least we say hello. We are the visible ghosts. But the invisible ghosts, they are liberated from here, because in the beginning, they were. In every room, you could hear in the night some walking, talking; you could hear the voices. So Parvati told me, and I said, "Okay, I will come." I went from room to room, and I told them, "Now you are liberated from this level of your life. Go and find your next happy life." So they got mokṣa from this level of consciousness, from this journey. It means life, spirit, devas, angels—they are different. Mostly, they are those ancestors, those people. They are neither in the astral world nor in the physical world. Their spirit attests, somehow, for something. They try to make it visible, but they cannot. There are some sensitive, very sensitive people who may see something. But they can be liberated through prayers, through offerings. Offering means you give food to the birds, to the animals, or to the hungry people. There are many good things to do in their name. So when you give a donation in the church, you are not doing some obligation; you are not obliging. You are doing something for yourself—that is good. After the prayer service, many people go to the donation box, or they go with the basket or something. It is the same thing in the temples and ashrams. After prayers, they go with the light around. Everyone makes praṇām and puts some coin in it. And when the light doesn’t come to them, they are unhappy. Then they come extra there and put it in, so it has something in it. Here is a very short story. There was one master, a magic master of black magic. He used to call the spirits, so he used to go to some place outside of the village or in the cemetery. He called many, many ghosts. He had one disciple, and that disciple was a Brahmajñānī. The master told him, "I have siddhis. All these ghosts and all these surrounding areas are under my control." He took his disciple with him. Of course, even though the disciple was a brahmajñānī, he has to—the master is always the master. So his master went there and made some magic circle, and I don’t know what all they were doing. He made his prayers and mantras and was calling them. "Františku, come. Josef, come. Ondra, come. Viktor, come." But nobody was there. No one came. He was there for four hours, and he was so angry with them. He was also calling the female ghosts. They also didn’t come. So he said, "Well, today maybe they are somewhere; they have some feast somewhere." So they went back. The next night, the Master said, "I will go alone, and I will punish them all." So again, he went there and made a circle, and one came. "Yes, Master," he said. The master asked, "Where have you been yesterday, and where are all the others?" The ghost said, "I am the unlucky one, and the others are all lucky ones, Master." "What do you mean?" asked the master. The ghost replied, "They were all here yesterday, and as soon as they saw your disciple, they were liberated. I was not here, and I am not liberated. Please, can you somehow arrange that I have darśan of your disciple?" The master opened his eyes and said, "OK, come with me." So the ghost was following the master to where the disciple was sitting and making mantras, thinking of the master. The other ghost came about 500 meters near and finished. He said, "Bye-bye, Master." The master said, "What?" The ghost replied, "I am free from you, and I am going already to the light. Don’t you notice, Master? The power of the Brahmajñānī is here." And that was it. So wherever you will come, no ghost will come. So you come there, repeat your mantra, say your prayer, keep Mahāprabhujī’s photo or picture. I may tell you with great confidence: all negative energies will disappear and purify. That’s it. Because you are pure now. You are that ghost from which you are free, except the ghost of ignorance, ego, jealousy, criticizing, and talking bad. Anyhow, so that’s it. You have got that energy now through this anuṣṭhāna, Kriyā Anuṣṭhāna—not an intensive seminar, Kriyā Anuṣṭhāna—and through the satsaṅgs, Guru Vākyas, through being together, eating this divine sāttvic food, blessed food, breathing this divine air where we are all together sitting. The air touches our body and touches others’ bodies, so in the present you are intoxicated in divine love. And when you come to that city, then you will get some different drips of māyā, and slowly, slowly this vairāgya will go down. Therefore, repeat again, come again. So, I wish you all the best. Much love, and a happy, safe journey. Dev Nārāyaṇ Bhagavān. Dev Purī Samādhi. Mādhav Kṛṣṇa Bhagavān. Jītrā. Jītrā.
