God is not your slave -- but if you call from the deep of your heart, God will come.
The Lord arrives precisely when His devotees are in greatest distress. Consider Kṛṣṇa's birth. His parents, Devakī and Vasudeva, were imprisoned by her brother, the demon Kaṁsa. Terrified by a prophecy, Kaṁsa killed each of their newborn children by dashing them against a wall. This was utter despair, with no flute or joy, only profound suffering. Into this prison of anguish, Kṛṣṇa had to descend. Devakī's pure-hearted prayer in that moment exemplifies true devotion. The Lord's coming is inevitable for His devotees. He must arrive for their sake. Therefore, devotees call for Him to come swiftly.
"Tan mayā hojanā." "Tan mayā hojanā" means: become one—unite your body and soul in prayer. Immediately, He will be there.
"For the sake of the devotees, O Lord, O Mahāvīr, come. For the sake of the devotees, Lord, come as soon as possible."
