What the holy saints are telling us is the longer, but safe way

The safe path shown by the saints liberates one from danger and the cycle of birth and death. Many past lives were lost in ignorance, without understanding life's purpose. Without the Guru, one cannot grasp the secret meaning of existence. All creation has meaning; failing to understand it is our error. Through the Guru, that purpose is realized, dispelling all sorrow and unhappiness. The darkness of ignorance vanishes as the sun dawns within the heart. The merciful liberator guides and frees the individual souls, symbolized as swans.

"Because without Gurū Dev, I could not understand the meaning, the secret, the purpose of this life."

"I have ānanda. I am blissful, now I am in bliss."

Filming location: Vép, Hungary

You ask someone which path is safe and which is dangerous. If you follow someone's advice that "this is the safe way, a little longer, but safe," it means you will avoid the dangers. Therefore, the path the holy saints show us is the safe way. It frees us from the punishment of the Yamadūtas. Āge janam, āneka gamāyā, gurbina bhedana pāyā... Here, āge means in the past, though āge can also mean the future depending on the context. "I lost many, many lives in the past." As soon as I came, I fell into māyā and was lost again. And māyā exists not only in human life but in animal lives as well. So many, many lives were lost. What does "lost" mean? You were living, eating, experiencing a life. But the chance was lost because you were born for another purpose, not for this mundane existence. In the past, I lost many lives. Why? Gurū bin bheda na pāyā. Because without Gurū Dev, I could not understand the meaning, the secret, the purpose of this life. Everything God has created in this world has meaning. If we do not understand it, that is our mistake. I could not realize or understand this meaning before, but now, through my Gurudev, I have understood the purpose of life. I realized it is known as paya, bhed, khed. Khed means unhappiness, sorrow; it is the opposite of happiness. All my unhappiness—paya, bhed, khed—is gone. What happened then? Urbic bhan ugaya—the sun rises in my heart. The darkness of ignorance disappeared. Like the early morning dawn, the sun has risen in my heart. Śrī Pūjya Bhagavān Dīp Nārada Yālu Behad Haṁsa Pāṭhāya. Śrī Pūjya Bhagavān Dīp Dayālu Varsīva, the universally worshiped Bhagavān Śrī Dīp Dayālu. Dayālū means the merciful one. The universally worshiped Bhagavān Śrī Dīp Nāmā Prabhupāda, the merciful one. Béhad béhad means endless. Beskaj Hans Patāyā—he liberated the swans. The swans symbolize the jīvātmā, these individual souls. Beskaj is the leader of the labud (swans). Labud is the symbol of the jīvātmā. He liberated numerous souls. Similarly, Gurujī said, "Kahi Mādhava Nanda Ānanda Hai." The holy Gurujī is saying, "I have ānanda. I am blissful, now I am in bliss." Why? Because now I know I will not come again into the cycle of birth and death. Therefore, listen, O devotee, listen to this.
