The primary occupation of human beings today is, for the most part, merely the collection of money. It is said that money is not bad; gold is not bad if you utilize it for the welfare of all. Health is everything. But as soon as it comes to us, our greed awakens. Then the Śiva Bhāva is gone. When that divine disposition is gone, the quality of Tyāga—renunciation—is gone. When Tyāga is gone, then Vairāgya is lost—detachment is also lost. And when Vairāgya is gone, Jñāna—wisdom—is gone. And the very life force, the prāṇa, of all this is bhakti, devotion. Then the ground is dried out; there is no more water. The ground becomes completely parched; there is no more water—a rotten tree, a tree dried out. It is merely a place where a bird sits and makes something on it. That signifies negative blackmailing. May God protect us. We should not be the one who implants in someone's mind negative thoughts, negative words, negative sound, blackmail. May God bless us to be that individual who will plant in other people's minds positive words, positive sounds.
