Money and Purity

A spiritual discourse on divine grace, wealth, and inner purity.

"God said, 'Give to Me, and then you will see what I give you.'"

"Spirituality means purity. Then Lakṣmī is there, and when Lakṣmī is there, Viṣṇu is automatically there."

The speaker explores the principle of divine exchange, using the analogy of a spoon versus a flood to contrast self-reliant earning with receiving God's grace. He discusses the deities Lakṣmī and Viṣṇu, explaining that inner purity—devotion, humility, and kindness—attracts prosperity. The talk critiques materialistic attitudes in modern systems, linking sacred ash (vibhūti) to spiritual wealth.

God said, "Give to Me, and then you will see what I give you." But we think, "He will not give to us." So we begin to work and earn money for ourselves. This is like trying to fill your pot by taking water with a spoon from the well. Your effort to earn money is that small spoon. But if you put God's instruction into practice, what you receive is like a rain flood. You cannot imagine how He can give to you. This is why there is a picture of Lakṣmī standing with open hands, with golden coins falling from them. Everyone prays to Lakṣmī, admiring Lakṣmī, and Viṣṇu is suffering out of jealousy because everyone is admiring her. Everyone comes and shakes hands with the lady, and the man is just standing there, thinking, "Okay, can we go home?" I feel sorry for Viṣṇu sometimes. So, it doesn't matter if you are a man or a woman; within you is that suffering part of Viṣṇu. And that part which makes Viṣṇu suffer is your own jealousy, too. Therefore, give, give, give. Mahātmā Gandhījī said, "Renounce and enjoy." If you want to earn money, there is one mantra for money within the Śrī Yantra. But I will not tell you that one, because then you might not come here anymore. Yet, there is a mantra; it is not a joke. However, this mantra can only function if your antaḥkaraṇa (inner instrument) is pure. Lakṣmī likes purity; she likes cleanness. She does not like unhygienic things, and this "hygienic" means stupid thoughts—mental pollution. When there is mental pollution, Lakṣmī closes her nose. She comes and says, "Oh, this man is stinky," or, "Oh, this lady, I cannot see, she is so stinky." What does that mean? It means bad thoughts; the antaḥkaraṇa is filled with garbage. Lakṣmī does not like this. She is beautiful, joyful, and happiness itself. She is wealth, health, and prosperity. That is what people like, but she likes pureness: devotion, humbleness, surrendering, equal vision, and kindness. These are the purities. Spirituality means purity. Then Lakṣmī is there, and when Lakṣmī is there, Viṣṇu is automatically there. Or, if Viṣṇu is there, Lakṣmī has to be there. Lakṣmī cannot live without Him, and He cannot live without her. Where there is fire, there is smoke. Where there is smoke, there is fire. Where there is fire, there is ash, and where there is ash, there is fire. That is why when sannyāsīs and sādhus put ash on their body, that means Lakṣmī—that is Lakṣmī. So lucky are they in whose house you have fire and ash. But now we have the gas key cooker, or we have the electric cooker: no fire, no ash. It is only visions. It is lost. That Vedānta philosophy and the philosophy of communism were for oneness, equalness, and freedom. But this was abused, and many things were prohibited; that is why the system failed. Now you see democracy, and democracy is also not better. Pure democracy is different, but now it is called "demon crazy." Money, money, ... money. It does not matter how many people die, I want my money. It does not matter who is suffering, I want my money. It does not matter if it is the āshram, or the temple, or the house, or the forest. I want my money, that is all. I do not care if it is an āshram or a house or a forest; I just want my money, and that is all. That is it. Recording location: Czech Republic, Strilky, Weekend seminar
