It is a story—somewhat lengthy, so I do not believe I will recount it fully—about how a master brings a disciple to God. It is a beautiful story, but to tell the truth, I have forgotten its beginning. The essence of such stories is this: one meets the master, comes to him, then goes away again, abandoning all spiritual practices. One commits many sins and falls to a lower life, then falls again, even to the realm of reptiles and so on. Yet the master follows him everywhere. When the person descended and became a reptile, the master also entered a reptile body and met him there. Finally, this being became a small bug, a honey bee. It sat upon a lotus flower. Evening came, the lotus closed, and the bee was trapped inside. Early in the morning, before dawn, the master sent the holy angels. Do you believe in angels or not? You are all angels. It is said that early each morning, these angels bring flowers to God. The master instructed them to bring that particular lotus flower today. They went, found a large, beautiful lotus still closed, took it, and brought it before God. As it reached God, the petals began to open one after another. Suddenly, God saw a small creature inside. He took it into the hollow of his palm and said, "My dear child, how happy I am to see you." God touched its body, and that tiny bee was enlightened. Its whole form dematerialized, entering as a light into the heart of God. You know, we sometimes see trick films where a light goes into the heart and disappears. So it entered the heart. This story wishes to tell us two things: first, be assured that your master will bring you to that point—to God, to enlightenment.
