Introduction to Manipur Chakra

A spiritual discourse on the journey through the Maṇipūra chakra and the nature of the soul.

"Maṇipūra is a very significant chakra. You know that our manifestation in our physical body began with the Maṇipūra chakra."

"It's not that you are some ordinary human being. There is no ordinary. Every creature is special, not only human, but every creature. But, my dear, destiny."

The speaker explains the distinction between the layered soul created by karma and the inner Ātmā. Describing the ascent of consciousness into the Maṇipūra chakra, he details its significance as the point of physical conception and the seat of psychic imprints from that moment, which influence one's destiny and emotional reactions throughout life. The talk concludes with reflections on the preciousness of a human birth.

When the jīvā, this individual consciousness, is involved in the soul, the soul is not the Ātmā; the soul is not the semen. The soul is the layers of our qualities, which are created through karma. It is like an onion, with layers one after the other. But within that is the Ātmā. Now, the individual consciousness, after long fighting, after long trying in sādhanā, and through the Guru's kṛpā, and through the practicing of that particular mantra, the spiritual consciousness is rising up. A very difficult chakra, a very difficult border, has been crossed, and you enter into the Maṇipūra chakra. The name itself is beautiful. Maṇi means the jewel, and chakra is the center: the center of the jewels. That is why it is said, "Maṇi padme hūṃ." Maṇi is the jewel, padam is the lotus feet of the master, and hūṃ means "bow down." I bow down to the lotus feet of the master. And his feet are the jewels; each nail is a jewel. The ten nails, the ten toes, are the ten jewels, and these jewels have their own meaning. The richness of the yogīs is there. You have to dive to get those toes. Maṇipūra is a very significant chakra. You know that our manifestation in our physical body began with the Maṇipūra chakra. Our connection to the mother's body was through the Maṇipūra navel. The navel has a great meaning. The first day when we entered into the mother's body, that was our real birthday. That was the real birthday, and your destiny depends on it. How was it? How does your psyche begin to develop from that second? What were the circumstances? Beautiful? Full of fear? Pain? Pleasure? Good smelling? Or stinky? What was the atmosphere? What was the condition of the psychic and physical condition of the mother, and what was the psychic and physical condition of the father? How has the father prepared himself to get you, and how has the mother been preparing to get you? How long have they made a spiritual sādhanā? How long have they prayed? How pure was the nourishment they took, or were they completely drunken, quarreling, abused? What was the situation? All this has influence on your psyche, and all this affects the Maṇipūra chakra. Anything happens in your life, suddenly you feel it in the stomach, in the Maṇipūra. And from here, either heat is spreading through the body or a shivering cold. The fear awakes from the Maṇipūra chakra and reflects on the heart, the Anāhata. Therefore, what is hidden in your psyche? What was the star's constellation? Which day and month was it? Everything is according to the constellations. This light came from the universe. It was perceived by the mother. That was you. It's not that you are some ordinary human being. There is no ordinary. Every creature is special, not only human, but every creature. But, my dear, destiny. Everyone has their destiny, and we are fluttering on the waves of destiny. This destiny is a boat which is on the beach, near the rock, and with every wave getting across to the rock, this boat is floating here. It is a swing on the waves, so the swing goes through the destiny. After a long journey, finally you got a human body. How beautiful. Beautiful. I think we don't understand still that we have a human body. Narase Nārāyaṇ banjāoge—from human you will become God. Recording location: Croatia, Umag, Weekend seminar
