Live together in harmony and love -- the old and young people should be in harmony

A teacher of completeness is discovered through selfless instruction, which reveals one's own limitations and sustains knowledge. Teaching must be an act of giving, like a waterwheel passing water onward; hoarding knowledge stops its flow. Discipline is essential, and fault lies within, not in others. Generational divides are natural; elders should find self-satisfaction and allow the young their path. Societal definitions of age are shifting downward, yet the young possess equal or greater capacity, endurance, and education. Therefore, youth must be brought forward to teach and lead, sharing their perspectives on problems and solutions. Experienced teachers must guide new instructors harmoniously under one framework.

"The waterwheel does not drink its own water; it gives it onward."

"We must learn to give the key to our treasure to the young people before they declare us disabled."

As soon as you begin to teach, you will discover your own limitations. That is why I call a Yoga in Daily Life teacher a teacher of completeness, a pūrṇa. Therefore, I suggest you become Yoga in Daily Life teachers now. This means becoming a giver of wisdom. If you teach selfishly, you will not be successful, and the knowledge itself will disappear. The waterwheel does not drink its own water; it gives it onward. As soon as you stop giving onward, no new water will flow in. Therefore, utilize your knowledge—and you know a great deal. You need only to develop discipline. This is very important. And do not search for mistakes in others. The mistake is within you. I am already among the third, fourth, or fifth generation of friends. My parents are one generation. My grandparents were the second. My own age, with my brothers and sisters, is the third generation. Their children are the fourth, and their children—like Śaṅkar Purījī and the little one—are already here; that is my fifth generation. So, our fifth or sixth generation from the past cannot understand the present generation. Sometimes we must simply close our eyes and say, "Do what you want." For those who are my age or older, be sure to find self-satisfaction and let the young do what they do. We must learn to give the key to our treasure to the young people before they declare us disabled and ready for the old-age home. Around the year 2000, at 45 years of age in this Yuga, you are considered among the youngest of the old people. In the last century, it was 50 years. At the beginning of the Second World War, it was 60. At the beginning of the First World War, it was about 70; then you were old. So, our age is decreasing rapidly. An 80-year-old person from the old generation and a 35-year-old person from this generation have the same capacity. The young even have greater endurance, autumnal willpower, mental willpower, and physical power. Young people have learned many things. What they learn now in middle school was not even taught at university in that earlier time. Therefore, we should bring our young people forward. They should become yoga teachers and pass the knowledge on. That is why at the World Peace Conference, there will also be a program for the youth, and the youth themselves must give some lectures. So, get ready, our young people—the four young people—as there will be one hour of time for lectures. "Lectures" means: What is your problem? What do you not understand from the old generation? What do you think your present situation is? How do you think the world could be better? They will hold presentations and talks. They will tell us their problems, how they see the world, how they see older people, what they do not understand about them, and what they think about how the world can be better. That is why we will have separate time for young people at the Mirovna Conference in Ljubljana. Therefore, everybody should become a yoga teacher. Those who are elderly yoga teachers or long-time yoga teachers have a duty to guide the young yoga teachers, and to work all together in harmony under the umbrella, the framework, of Yoga in Daily Life. The older, more experienced instructors should give their experiences, guide the new generation, teach them, and live together in harmony and love in the everyday life of yoga, under one big umbrella. For the young, there should be yoga instructors, and the older, experienced instructors should teach them, to take them on that path under the protection of yoga.
