Meaning of the Guru Purnima

Guru Pūrṇimā is a day of profound spiritual connection. Fortunate are those united with the Master, while those who merely fear or forget the day are unfortunate. The guru principle is immortal and supreme. On this day, rise early, bathe, and listen to the Guru Gītā. Perform worship and prayer, partake of blessed food, and practice mantras. Maintain positive speech and thought. In the evening, cleanse again, prepare a meal as an offering, and attend or organize a gathering. If not possible, listen to devotional songs, read sacred texts, and meditate. We will be together in spirit.

"Fortunate are those who can be with the Master on this day."

"The guru-tattva is immortal, the highest, and that is sanātana."

Filming location: Vép, Hungary

Fortunate are those who can be with the Master on this day. Luckier still are those who can be mentally united with the King. Unfortunate are those who merely fear from afar, thinking, "Today was Guru Pūrṇimā." And it is sad for those who forget this important day of Guru Pūrṇimā. The guru-tattva is immortal, the highest, and that is sanātana. So I also wish you a very blessed Guru Pūrṇimā. On the morning of Guru Pūrṇimā, the 11th of July, rise one hour earlier than usual. On the 10th, retire to sleep a little earlier. In the morning, take a bath. Then listen to the Guru Gītā. Perform pūjā, āratī, and prayer. Partake of prasāda; eat fruits or nuts. You may have your coffee and tea. Practice more mantras during the day. Speak positively, be receptive, think positively. When you return from work, wash yourself again. Cook a nice meal as a good prasāda, eat your prasāda, and attend the satsaṅg at your nearest āshram, or organize a satsaṅg in your own place. If that is not possible, if this does not work, then listen to bhajans in the evening. Read the Guru Amṛt, and also meditate with the Guru Gītā. Mentally, we will be together.
