Story about Mahaprabhuji and Holy Guruji
The lesson is about receiving a guru's grace, which requires surrender, not jealousy.
Śrī Mahāprabhujī was a being of immense spiritual power whose mere look could inspire devotion. He spoke little, yet his presence was everything. Disciples were jealous that he gave all his spiritual power to Holy Gurujī. One disciple, Swāmī Maheshwarānanda, complained he received nothing. Mahāprabhujī said he must learn to receive grace from Gurujī himself. To teach him, Mahāprabhujī sent him on a journey with Gurujī to run simple errands with no money. During the trip, Gurujī's word alone stopped trains and commanded officials who provided everything needed, including new umbrellas and vegetables. Swāmī Maheshwarānanda witnessed this power but later faced trouble traveling alone. He returned realizing the grace flows to those who serve without doubt. Jealousy creates distance. Unconditional surrender is essential. Trust lost is everything lost.
"Mahāprabhujī said, 'I have given you the power in your words; use it. I give to you, and you give further.'"
"Holy Gurujī said, 'Yes, if you want to receive, then you should serve him. Therefore, Gurudev is always there.'"
