SVADHISTHANA CHAKRA

The Svādhiṣṭhāna Chakra is the place of the self where human personality manifests. Its orange color symbolizes awakening, renunciation, and purification, acting as a protective shield. This chakra holds negative qualities like anger, jealousy, greed, cruelty, and hatred, symbolized by the crocodile. These arise from uncontrolled passion and attachment. The energy here must be purified. Desires must be transformed into love, and anger into peace. Greed turns into giving. The chakra contains both creative and destructive forces, activated in youth like wild water. One must consciously calm these negative emotions through breath and reflection, fostering humbleness over destructive ego. Good guidance is essential for navigating this energy toward wisdom and harmony.

"Orange color means the energy is awakened. Orange color means fire."

"Humans are here to give, not to take."

Filming location: Prague, Czech Republic

This is called the Svādhiṣṭhāna Chakra. Svādhiṣṭhāna means sva (the self) and iṣṭhāna (the place). It is the place of the self. The development of human consciousness, the manifestation of human personality, begins to take place from the Svādhiṣṭhāna Chakra. Its color is orange. Mūlādhāra was red—a solid, dormant color of Śakti. Orange symbolizes awakening. When the morning dawn awakens all creatures, they wake up; even the flowers wake up. Only some humans who go to bed very late cannot wake up. Orange means awakening, or the dormant evening when the sun sets—again, the same color. Orange is the color of renunciation. Autumn is the season of renouncing, giving all its fruits. All leaves become orange and will fall again. Though our salt of the earth came from the earth, it will reunite with the earth again. A poet said it beautifully—I must tell you; you will know when I stop talking, that's it. This machine is very difficult to stop. So, an artist, sitting near the hills among beautiful trees with yellow leaves, saw one leaf fall down. A strong wind took it away. The leaf whirled in the wind and went far away. The artist writes a poem: "The leaf broke from the branch, and the wind took it away. This separation today—when will it come together again?" For the leaf will fall somewhere far away. The wind is destiny. That leaf is us, and the tree is this world. One day it will fall down. Where will we go? And will we come together again? The answer, my friends, is blowing in the wind. Destiny. Understand, my dear, destiny. So, this color is a color of renunciation. That is why Indian monks, whether Hindu or Buddhist—we are all the same—wear this color. Because we have already renounced. We have work for all. A sannyāsī, a monk, does not change everyday dress for a different color. Orange color means the energy is awakened. Orange color means fire. Fire burns everything. Whether it is a Czech crown or a newspaper, fire does not say, "Oh, it's money, money, take it out." So, this is a color of purification. No negative energy can pass through this color. No black magic has an effect on this color. This color is a protection, like bulletproof glass. You send a negative thought, and it will come like a fly banging on the glass—it cannot go through. This is a blessed color, the color of the earth, orange. And now it is very safe for traffic. When you walk, everybody knows somebody is walking. Crocodile—there was an elephant, now it's a crocodile. A beautiful animal, also a creature of God. But the crocodile symbolizes aggressiveness, cruelty, jealousy, anger, and hate. These are the qualities in this Svādhiṣṭhāna Chakra. That is passion. If someone goes against your passion, then you become angry. When your anger does not function, then you become jealous. And when you have only this, then you become greedy. When through anger and jealousy you cannot solve your problem, then you become cruel and full of hatred. So, these are the negative aspects which lie dormant in every one of us. Now, how to overcome them is your decision. Pessimism. Kāma Śakti. It is in nature. It has no certification. Day by day, it is the same, increasing. Animals nowadays control themselves much better than humans. Because humans have freedom, and through this freedom they became blind. So, you should have your feelings, but under control. Anger. Anger is the devil. The real devil drinks the blood of others. But anger drinks the blood of others and yourself. Jealousy is a sign of an undeveloped personality. It means you are still not fully developed, because you depend on something, and when someone looks at your things, you are afraid. You think somebody will take it away, and you think, "I cannot live without this." This is attachment, and attachment is the fear and cause of suffering. Jealousy is an undeveloped personality. It does not matter who we are; we know if we are jealous or not. And it is not easy. That is why I am telling you these things. So, we have to control and understand: nothing is permanent. Everything that is changing is unreality, and what is not changing is reality. Our feelings, our jealousy, our anger, our hate, our attachment—everything is changing. Therefore, to purify this chakra: Nāda rūpa para-brahmā—the form of the Supreme is resonance. When you have some desire, there is a resonance in your body that comes to the brain and transfers to the senses. It is a very fine feeling, resonance. The Svādhiṣṭhāna Chakra has a resonance, but at the same time it has beautiful qualities. Opposite to these five, attachment leads you to suffering, and freedom leads you to happiness. It is natural that we are attached to our parents, friends, and family members—that is called love. Where there is love, there is freedom, not attachment. But where there is attachment, there is no love; there is only desire. We have to overcome desires and turn desires into love. Otherwise, if you think, "Now I am detached..." your children will suffer. No, you should give more attention to children. Your children do not need your toys; your children need your love. Your children do not need your money; they need your wisdom. Lucky are they whose parents are wise ones and can educate children. So, kāma (desire), krodha (anger), mada (pride), lobha (greed), moha (delusion), and ahaṁkāra (ego)—these are the qualities of the Svādhiṣṭhāna Chakra. Here, kāma turns into prema (love). Krodha turns into harmony and peace. Hate turns into understanding. Greediness turns into giving—renunciation. Give, give, give. Humans are here to give, not to take. So, this Svādhiṣṭhāna Chakra, according to your book Hidden Powers in Humans: when the Kuṇḍalinī rises here, then the crocodile becomes active. But here is Brahmā, the creator, and here is Sarasvatī, the goddess of intellect and wisdom, and she controls everything. So here the beauty of your life begins. The learning begins. The lesson of life begins here, and your future door is open. When we are born, we have two directions: Uthan and Patan. Uthan means development, achievement. Pāṭan means destruction. The roots of both are in oneness, one place, and that place is called Saṅgha: society or company. In front of the Saṅgha, when we write Satta, Satta, then it becomes Satta Saṅgha—good society. That leads to development and achievement. And in front of the Saṅgha, when we write "ku," it becomes "kusaṅga." Kusaṅga means bad society. That is called social illness: drugs, criminal activities, all negative activities. So, the Svādhiṣṭhāna Chakra has both forces. Decide for yourself and be strong, because here is also the willpower inside. When you are 12, 13, 14 years—what you call a teenager—then this chakra becomes active. That is called the wild water. To cross the wild water is not easy. But if you have good parents and a master, your life becomes divine. The Svādhiṣṭhāna Chakra is in your hands. Calm anger, jealousy, hate, greediness, hatred, selfishness—these must be worked out. It means learning how to work them out. You are angry? Take a deep inhale and exhale, and close your eyes. Just half a minute. Think: what are you doing? Immediately, your anger will come down. Do not make a fist to the glass window; then for two months your hand will be like this. Why? Because it is stupidity. Anger. So anger and ahaṁkāra (ego) are the biggest destructive powers. All people who fall down in this world—their ego destroys them. Therefore, humbleness is the best.
