The Anāhata Chakra: Ocean and Waves
The Anāhata Chakra is an endless ocean of emotion and the cosmic Self. Its waves are individual souls, which are not different from the ocean itself. Just as water is connected to the changing moon and mind, emotion is movement and purification. The wave, like the individual soul, originates from and will merge back into the ocean. There is no true difference between the individual self and the supreme Self; the distinction is our own creation. In meditation, one feels as a wave merging into the ocean, as consciousness unites with cosmic consciousness. Self-realization occurs here but requires many experiences. This is only possible through service to the Master, which requires understanding the Master's holy words. The essence of all mantras is these words. One must meditate on the Master's form to become one with it, like an unlit candle receiving light from a lit one.
"Abhaṁ guru caraṇa sukhapāya, sāgara lehara samāya."
