People think of God only in troubles
A blessing is found in troubles, especially for devotees.
I experienced a terrible hot wind in Europe, a reminder of hardship. After the Mahābhārata, Kṛṣṇa visited Kuntī before departing. He offered her a blessing. She requested troubles for devotees and comfort for non-devotees. Kṛṣṇa questioned her, thinking she was confused. She insisted she knew her request. She explained that comfort makes people forget God's name, always postponing prayer. Troubles, however, remind the devotee of God every second. Two people cannot sleep: the ill person in pain and the seeker in devotion. True love has no jealousy, unlike emotional love. Helping others is the best action.
"Nāmi hṛdaye viśrāya—I throw a big rock on that happiness which, when it comes, makes people forget the name of God."
"I surrender to those troubles which remind me of Thy name, O Lord, every second."
