Swāmī Gajananjī, who now cares for our āshram and devotees in Vancouver, is an excellent yoga teacher and a very learned person. He underwent rigorous training in Jadan, at times so arduous he felt he might not survive. During that period, he composed a bhajan—I have forgotten it now—that went something like: "O Swāmījī, you live in me, you live within me." It is said, when you are within me, how can I leave you? How could I go away? Because you are in me; wherever I go, you will be with me. You are in Mahāprabhujī, and I am in you, and you are in me; all three of us are one. It is a very beautiful bhajan, which we will sing tomorrow. When you are conscious of Gurudev, your aura changes, your ābhā-vaṇḍal (field of light) changes. When you meet someone who is truly a devotee of your Gurudev, and you are also a devotee, then these two lights merge. Otherwise, it is: "I don't like you, you don't like me. Is it your coffee? It's not my coffee. Is it your problem? I'm a problem." That is all. So, if you cannot harmonize with 30, 40, 100, 200, or even 1,000 people, how will you ever create world peace? Peace begins in your own heart. Peace begins with your own words. And peace begins with your own first step. Therefore, we must take a step toward building friendship. We must step forward; we should not reject and retreat. This is how spiritual development occurs. Otherwise, a lack of harmony means your spirituality is already declining. The light grows dimmer and dimmer until it is extinguished. But for the devotees of yoga and their lives, the light grows brighter and brighter. Those watching this webcast can see that this hall where we sit, this light that illuminates me, comes from you, the devotees. Do you see the light of the Australian devotees? My God! So peace, harmony, understanding, tolerance, respect, and forgiveness must come from you. They must originate with you; do not expect them from others. When you give, it will reflect back to you. Reaction? Yes, reaction. And that reaction will be that love, harmony, and peace return to you. This will happen when your three chakras—Viśuddhi, Anāhata, and Maṇipūra—are clean and balanced.
