To be there
The difference between observing truth and immersing yourself in it is the difference between knowledge and realization.
You can see pictures and hear stories of the Gaṅgā, but to dive in and feel the water is different. That is the difference between hearing a lecture and practicing the reality. To develop spiritually, you must get this energy. You are like a seed that must die and surrender its form so a new life can come. Your ego, ambition, and negative qualities must be surrendered. Only then can the divine light within awaken and be given to others. Some are like bookworms, collecting ideas to preach, but this artificial knowledge does not last. Real growth requires internal surrender, not external performance. Problems in communication arise from inner greed, ego, and jealousy. You must learn to accept your own mistakes instead of blaming others; acceptance requires surrendering your ego. Discipline is also learned through practice, not passive observation.
"You feel the reality in the lecture, the reality in the practice, and to be with it—that is very different."
"You have to surrender. You have to kill your ego. Otherwise, you can't accept."
