Ajapa japa

The root of spiritual practice is the Guru's instruction. This teaching establishes one in truth. The words and message of saints remain; we must follow that divine wisdom. The mantra is the vehicle that leads you. Practice the Guru Mantra from the spiritual lineage. At the fifth level, Ajapā, the mantra becomes spontaneous, a constant internal vibration. The prayer is to sing the divine name ceaselessly. At the body's end, the divine stands before you; the aim is to surrender while absorbed in that name. A devotee's final utterance was the name of God, demonstrating a merger of consciousness into the divine through that resonance.

"Govinda, merī yeh prathānā—O Lord Govinda, this is my prayer to Thee: I never forget Your name."

"Deha ant kale tum sam neho... At the end time of this body, You are standing in front of me."

Mantra mūlaṁ guruvākyaṁ. It is said that the root, the essence, and the very source of the mantra is the guru's instruction. Sthiti guruvākyam means the teachings that establish one in the truth. For us, the guruvākya is this: all the holy saints of the world have departed, but their words and their message remain here. We must follow in the footsteps of that divine wisdom. As Holī Gurujī said, Satyapanta chalna—walk on the path of truth to God. Therefore, the mantra is that boat, that spaceship, that will lead you everywhere. So, practice your Guru Mantra from the Satguru Dev, from that spiritual lineage. For us, you and me, our path and our way are our spiritual masters. When you come to Ajapā, the fifth level of the mantra, it becomes spontaneous. No lips or tongue move; it is a japa that happens without practicing. It is constantly going on. This vibration moves through and through. Govinda, merī yeh prathānā—O Lord Govinda, this is my prayer to Thee: I never forget Your name. May I sing this name day and night. Like night and day, night and day, I look for Thee night and day. May I sing this name night and day. O Govinda, O Dāmodara, O Kṛṣṇa, may I sing this, Your name, day and night. Deha ant kale tum sam neho. Deha ant kale. Kāla means time. Deha is the body. Anta is the end. At the end time of this body, You are standing in front of me. I have no other wish, O God. While singing this name, O Lord, I give up my body. I surrender my body. I forgive my body in advance, O Kṛṣṇa. I hear the sweet melody of Your flute, O Kṛṣṇa. And that melody will attract my consciousness to Thy divine consciousness. O my Lord, while singing this song—with love, devotion, bhakti, and dedication—it becomes Ajapā for you. Like Mahātmā Gāndhījī. Unfortunately, the end of his life was such that he was shot. But what did he say? "Hey Rām," the name of God. He didn't say, "You devil." No negative words came from his mouth. He simply renounced with "Hey Rām," and that was it, regardless of the situation and what happened. Everything in Your glory, O Hey Rām. This tells us that Gandhijī was a great devotee of Rāma. He didn't say, "Hey, Kṛṣṇa." Gandhiji had equal vision for all and respected all religions, but his personal deity was that Rāma, of the Bhagavad Gītā. This is a japa where his jīvātmā merged into the ātmā, resonating with the energy of God Rāma into the Paramātmā. So, come to the Ajapa Jāpa: Śrī Rām Jaya Rām Jaya Jaya Rām, Śrī Rām Jaya Rām Jaya Jaya Rām, Śrī Rām Jaya Rām Jaya Jaya Rām, Śrī Rām Jaya Rām Jaya Rām... Sya Vara Rāma Candra Bhagavān Kīcai, Dīpa Nārāyaṇa Bhagavān Kīcai, Deveśvara Mahādeva Kīcai, Satguru Svāmī Madhavānandjī Gurudeva Kīcai, Satya Sanātana Kīcai.
