Laziness
The human life is uniquely precious, and laziness is the thief that steals it. This opportunity for God-realization is rare, while worldly relationships are common across countless lives. The soul has slept through many existences, wasting the invaluable time given in human form. Time is life itself, more precious than any wealth. This is especially true for the pre-dawn period, Brahmamuhūrta, a nectar-like time for meditation where sleep indicates past sin. Laziness is a sweet, destructive force that perpetuates suffering across lifetimes, trapping beings in karmic cycles. One must therefore wake up and use time wisely.
The solution is to cultivate disciplined habits and redirect the mind. Cease nighttime distractions and retire early. Rise during Brahmamuhūrta, use cold water, avoid daytime sleep, and engage fully in practice. Through such effort, new, healthy mental patterns awaken. Ultimately, one must practice detachment and realize the true Self as supreme consciousness, not the body or its attachments.
"O my brother, wake up. Your chance is slipping away."
"I am the divine Cit-Ānanda-svarūpa, the supreme consciousness, the ātmā."
