A Guided Meditation and Relaxation Practice

A guided meditation session focusing on relaxation and breath awareness.

"Relax the entire body, from your toes to the crown of your head, and from the crown of your head back down to your toes. Relax, relax, simply relax."

"Be aware of the process of breathing. Relax the breath itself. Be aware that you know you are inhaling, and you know you are exhaling."

An unnamed guide leads a seated meditation, beginning with three chants of Oṃ to settle the mind and body. The practice involves a systematic body scan for deep relaxation, followed by mindful observation of the natural breath. The session concludes with gentle physical movements to reintegrate awareness, ending with the word "Adio."

Settle yourself into a comfortable, upright sitting position. Relax your body and take a few deep breaths, using diaphragmatic breathing. We will chant Oṃ three times. Take a deep inhale and relax the body. Feel the resonance of Oṃ. As you chant Oṃ, let the vibration move through your entire body, allowing it to relax. Feel your thoughts settling and your nervous system calming. The sound and its resonance unify the energy within the body, creating harmony. Take another deep inhale. This time, concentrate on the collective Oṃ sound expanding into the space. Deep inhale. Relax the body and the breath. Withdraw your awareness from the external world. Be aware of your presence here, both physically and mentally. Relax your legs, your hands, fingers, palms, and wrists. Pay special attention to relaxing your elbows. Relax your shoulders, neck, and back muscles while keeping the spine straight. Relax the stomach muscles. Relax the muscles of your face and jaw, as well as your eyelids and eyebrows. Relax the entire body, from your toes to the crown of your head, and from the crown of your head back down to your toes. Relax, relax, simply relax. Be aware of the body and feel its vibrant aliveness. Now, bring your awareness to the process of breathing. Relax the breath itself. Be aware that you know you are inhaling, and you know you are exhaling. Relax. Be aware of your presence here and now. Relax inwardly. Feel your breath as you relax inside. Notice that during inhalation, the trunk of the body expands slightly. During exhalation, it contracts. Feel the motionlessness of the body as a whole, while sensing this gentle expansion and contraction with your normal, natural breath. Now, gently bring your awareness back outward. Take a deep inhale and exhale. Chant Oṃ with me, remaining aware of your presence here. Feel your body. Move your shoulders up and down a little. Gently move your neck, tilting your head slightly forward and back. Move your fingers. Make a fist, with your thumb tucked inside, and then open your palm. Repeat this. Now, rub your palms together vigorously. Place your warmed hands over your face, warming your facial muscles and eyelids. Open your eyes, looking gently forward. Remain there for a moment, feeling the blood circulation in your head and face. Relax your neck and slowly come up. Adio.
