Om śānti, śānti,... bhavatu. Salutation to the Cosmic Light, omniscient and omnipresent. In His divine presence, good evening, dear brothers and sisters. Respected Vice-Mayor of the City, Mr. Halal, and all other dignitaries of this city and from the surrounding cities. It is a blessing to be here in this beautiful cultural hall. Today is multicultural. It is a just, proper place. The first sign of tolerance from the side of Debrecen is to offer these facilities for multi-cultures. The stress is our original subject, and it will remain so, because many of you came to hear about stress. Everything negative which happens in our life comes from stress. Stress is a destructive factor. First, it destroys one's own personality. Then, it disrupts the environment. Then, it splits families. Then, it loses the confidence and love for home. One begins to dream of realizing something in the far distance, but to see the blue sky, you need not travel anywhere. Remember, at sunset, every bird returns to its nest. Similarly, whatever you have achieved in the far distance, your very deep inner self would like to go back to that beautiful, warm nest—your village, your town, your city, your home. That is why it is said, "Home sweet home," "My house is my castle." Such feelings we should have towards our beautiful country, our beautiful birthplace, and our beautiful city or villages. I am not only telling this to the Hungarians, but it is for the whole world. At the same time, it is said we are the citizens of this planet. The whole planet is our family. But still, blood is thicker than water. So, our blood relation, there we have our roots with our own ancestors. We all have a beautiful destiny. Our ancestors kept our culture; they gave us culture, traditions, languages. If we preserve this, we have no stress. We are the happiest people, and our self, as well as our home, will look different. Yoga, and especially Yoga in Daily Life, is a way of life. That is why it is called Yoga in Daily Life. Twenty-four hours. Live your life according to yoga. That means yoga and a dharmic life: what to eat, what to drink, where to go, what relations we should build, where to sleep, how and where to work, and to know the purpose of human life. Yogic thoughts, the yogic way of life, makes a human healthy, spiritual, and wise. Yoga is a science of body, mind, consciousness, and soul. Through the practice of yoga, we can keep our body, mind, and soul in harmony, in balance. Yoga in Daily Life is such a beautiful and very easy system that everyone can practice. It does not matter if you are young or old, ill or healthy. We saw a beautiful demonstration from the juniors. It is said that children are the culture of tomorrow. The children are the future of our country. In which direction the youth will go, in that direction the country will go. How did you get this country, this culture from your parents? In which condition? You see, give it over to your children originally, from first hands. If you cannot do better, then at least do not destroy. This is the message for the whole world. We humans are responsible. There are two different kinds of worlds. One world is known as a God-made world, perfect. The second, a man-made world, imperfect. No matter how much humans will try to research and work, we cannot compare with that God, with the Divine, with Mother Nature. Therefore, dear brothers and sisters, we shall find within ourselves self-confidence, a motivation, an inspiration. When you find this inspiration, this motivation, this support, the world will look different. You will be very happy. The Creator has created 8.4 million different creatures on this planet, which are of three different kinds: Jalchar, Thalchar, and Nabchar—the creatures in the water, on the earth, and in the space. Out of 8.4 million different kinds of creatures, one is human. Humans have got a very powerful tool, and that is called intellect. Other creatures also have a kind of intellect, but it is very limited. Intellect needs education, and according to the education, our feelings will develop, our opinion about the world will develop, our appreciation of culture will develop, and we will think according to that. In one way it is good; in another way, it makes us narrow-thinking. The best education which humans have is in the mother's lap, from parents. That education makes a human into a human. Every parent loves their children more than themselves. It is our parents who worry about us, who take care of us. And it was our parents who said, "Be kind, be nice." Then we enter into social life, schools, colleges, universities. We learn different kinds of education. Also good, it is good. But the education which makes us human, that is very important. And that means we need a good society, a good companion, a good partner. If you are a friend with an alcoholic, then very soon you will also be alcoholic. If you are the friend who abuses some drugs, you will also one day be drug-addicted. If you are with thieves, you will also become a thief. If you are with a yogī, you will one day become a yogī. If you are with a politician, you will one day become a politician. So you see, the companion, the society, that develops our intellect and our inner feelings in that direction. If you are a friend with someone who has a lot of ambitions, some businessman who would like to be a billionaire, who would like to be the richest one on this planet, that person is a workaholic. And you will also become a workaholic, so both are dangerous. Alcoholic or workaholic, both are dangerous. It will create tension and distress. Now, do you feel stress sometimes or not? How does this stress look? There was a research work made in one of the universities in America. I think it is called Berkeley University. Two hemispheres, and these two hemispheres were targeted, especially in humans, and there was a very interesting result which they found when they came to the point of stress. Then, what are the symptoms developing through the stress in the body? Now, the stress is that you have to think ten things at once. You are driving a car, suppose. You know who is driving behind. You know what is happening left and right. You know what is happening in the front. This stress is enough, but at the same time, now you are telephoning. That is too much, and then you light the cigarette. Now, that is overstressed. And you are telephoning with someone who is angry at you, your wife or husband, or it does not matter who. You cannot control what? The concentration. Alertness. An accident can happen. The stress can develop when someone is ill, and you have to do double work. Or you have to go somewhere and you miss the airplane. At home, the dog is barking the whole night from the neighbors. Husband did not come home. He comes at three o'clock. The child cannot sleep and is crying. The heater does not function, the air conditioning. All becomes the stress. This technology, which we have, in some ways is very comfortable. But in some way, it is not healthy for us. But we became slaves of this technology. This became a factor of the stress. So the stress, when the stress is there, then the pressure on your brain, on your nerves, it means it is not relaxed. When it is not relaxed, then everything is contracting. You know, when someone is angry, mostly the men. Women can manage in a better way. But that is not good. That woman's man is it. For man is not good. He is more angry. When a woman tries to endure the situation without getting aggressive, she withdraws her feelings. And these feelings, if they are negative, that will attack her organs, and we see now the women are more suffering from different illnesses than the men. So, but I do—I do not mean this, that men should be angry and you should be angry. But we shall, that goes, we shall talk about that, discuss that, and relax. When a man is angry, he hits the window. That was a stress. Then, what men have to do is go to the hospital... and have many stitches. And the doctor will hang his hand here in the front of the... to show him that that was your stupidity. Every time, it will remind the man... going to the bathroom, going to the toilet... Saving, man will be inside very sorry that he did this. When the stress is there, then there is a little oxygen blood flow towards the brain. Or certain organs, like the heart, pancreas, or gender organs, they are in tension. Now, the symptom which is developing through the stress: first, feeling of anger. But anger is not continuous. Then develops a feeling of loneliness, and that lasts long. And when one feels loneliness, then one attacks the alcohol or some drugs, or goes away from home, would like to get some feeling of happiness inside. But drugs and alcohol cannot make you happy. All the time, being, you would like to forget. But the result will be more negative for your health, physical and mental. Loneliness can develop into depression. Depression in such a way, because you are lonely. And you fell deep in, within you, in your emotion, that you cannot come out. So, depression, you are deep in, like paralyzed. The result of depression very, very often is suicide. And you know, Hungary unfortunately also has high rates of suicide. Because Hungarians are very emotional, they are very loyal to family. Hungarians are also very attached to their country. Hungarians are proud to be a Hungarian, but these symptoms, which are mostly now happening according to what we call the modern civilization. We are fighting, running for emancipation, but this emancipation is very much misused, abused, and that result is breaking families. Is there a happy family? Very few. Father is in Sydney. Mother is in Johannesburg. Sister is in New York, and brother is in India. You and grandmother are sitting here. What a family! Sometimes you say, "Hello, telephone." Mother Nature developed a feeling of belonging as a family. Be sure these warm hands of your mother and father will protect you ever. The second symptom, which is developing from the stress after the depression, is schizophrenia. Or it can attack our body as a disease, which is more and more developing now, called cancer. There is no medicine against stress. There is no medicine against depression. So, in that research work, they said there are three techniques which can help the person to come out of the stress. First, they said, they did not say yoga. I do not know what they have against yoga. But they said, "Kind of Eastern exercises means yoga." Originally, it was spoken yoga, but what I saw, it was in the other language, in German language, but you could see when the professor was talking on his lips, reading, he said, "Yoga." But in German it was translated as "Ein Art vom östlichen Körperübungen," which is not bad either. Second, it is very remarkable: meditation. And that meditation we will do now, today. And the third, prayer. They did not say go to the church, temple, or the ashrams. But prayer. Yes, prayer is something with which you have a personal consultation with God. And prayer is where you get all the answers. Prayers must not be what we call religious. Religion is depending on the prayer. The spirituality is above the religion. Religion is a part of the spirituality. Religion is that truth, and that truth is the reflection of that spirituality. Spirituality is love. Kindness, understanding, forgiveness. These are all beautiful qualities. When they begin to blossom in our body, called cakra and kuṇḍalinī signs, then the spirituality is developing. Then you have no dualities. One father is sitting, an old man, 90 years old, or maybe more than that, and all his children and grandchildren are coming and the whole family, the daughters-in-law. Can you imagine the happiness of that old man? My family. He does not make differences. Similarly, a spiritual person does not make differences between religions. My brothers and sisters, humans are born to protect all the creatures and the environment, and to attain liberation. So the stress, which is caused by this modern way of life, will kill us. Therefore, you will see around the whole world: where there is a human, there is yoga; where there is yoga, there is a human. Every fourth person, if not the third, practices yoga on this globe. Except for some who are very narrow in thinking about religion. The scientific and systematic system of Yoga in Daily Life is practiced a lot around the world, especially for depression. In Hungary, in Szeged and Budapest, any town, any city, any big village, you can go and have Yoga in Daily Life. I think for nearly 35 years, Yoga in Daily Life has been active in your beautiful country. So this modern system is creating stress. The second biggest problem is pesticide. Please try to get and cultivate your food with organic fertilizer. Even the cows, the milky animals, they get everyday injections, and that goes in your body. The fast food system is all very unhealthy. Try to eat organic, good Hungarian products. You can create the jobs. Do not think there is a lot of unemployment. Before 200 years, 100 years before, was everyone employed? No, everyone was themselves a king. They had their own land they were cultivating. Now we become the slave. Does not matter which high position you have, director or general director, or whatever it is. Still, you are the slave of that company. Create yourself jobs here. You have a golden chance. You have beautiful, blessed soil here. You can supply the organic food to the entire Europe. You know, in Germany, in Austria, in Switzerland, in many, many European countries, people are looking for organic vegetables. Organic paprika. A lecho which is made from organic paprika is tasty, so I am not talking about economy and this, but I would suggest to Mr. Vice Mayor, the Halal, to dedicate some hundreds of hectares of land, or a thousand, a few thousand hectares of land, for organic production. And that field will need hundreds of people to work. We have a job, and we will have money and whatever you call it. So do not think there is unemployment. There is no money. Before one year, there was a lot of money. Where did the money go? Did it fly into the sky? Or float in the Danube? Something must be wrong. We do not depend on that. You show yourself; you have multi-talents. From hands, anyone can take away. But what is in your kismet, no one can take: your talent, your multi-talents. And Hungary has a multi-talent. After working in any office, a hectic day, you come home and go and work half an hour, one hour in your garden, vegetable garden. The whole stress will go away. Or take your child, or grandchild, or neighbor's child for a while in your lap. Your cat, if your wife is not at home. And when you come home? Thousand times more happy than the other one. So we developed one meditation as anti-stress meditation, and this is also developed for some people called politicians or directors. They can use it for ten minutes, and one for local people. These are very VIP, the local people. Yes. We are VIP, very, very. And these are we all. You are all very VVIP. No? Again? Well, every creature, even the trees, plants, flowers, day and night, searching, struggling for life and happiness. And happiness is the nature of our inner self. And our inner self is a part of the cosmic Self. And that cosmic Self is known as happiness. Or love or oneness, all are the same. Beauty, oneness, happiness, love, all are one, or God. When you think happy, ah, many things change. So the stress will release, more circulation will begin towards the brain, more oxygen will be supplied, and every cell of the body will be recharged with that resonance of happiness. And all ill cells, or some disease, begins to dissolve. It means the immunity system in the body will get strong. The energy centers, cakras, will awaken. It is a beautiful meditation. It is called sound and light, resonance and the light, love. The resonance and love, vibration through your own thinking. Afterward, you will feel a different energy in your body. If you practice five minutes, ten minutes, it is enough. That you can do silently, or you can do loudly. So, I would like to practice with you. Okay? Have you time? Good. You can take off your shoes. Be comfortable. Close your eyes. Withdraw yourself from the external world. Once, deep inhale and exhale. Relax, just relax. One can add on mantra. But the main thing is, do not concentrate on anything. As soon as you sit in meditation and begin to imagine, you are causing more stress. Let your horse free in the field, the horse of the mind. It will help you. If you do five to ten minutes every day, in one week you will see a positive result. So this is one technique. Second, we should do two things to regenerate the blood cells and awakening of the energy in our energy cakras. In our body, there are 72,000 nerves, and three are most important. In yoga, we call in Sanskrit the name Iḍā, Piṅgalā, Suṣumṇā. You may call them the lunar and solar. That lunar is the moon principle. It controls and represents the emotion. The sun, that is our intellect. Activities, creativities. Both connect directly to our hemispheres. In yoga, there is a prāṇāyāma breath technique called anulom vilom. That anulom vilom actually harmonizes and balances both of our hemispheres. More you will read in our book. The third one is called Suṣumnā, which controls and maintains our consciousness. And these three channels, beginning from the small of the brain, or the front reflection is on the eyebrow center. The two nāḍīs, iḍā and piṅgalā, they are going like waves, and that is why it is called serpent energy, because it is moving like a snake. The suṣumnā, more or less, is moving, passing straight. This Iḍā-Piṅgalā, lunar and solar principle, they are changing to balance our existence, our body, mental, physical, like the moon within 28 days is differently changing. The moon has a perfect balancing and influence on our body, mind, and consciousness. So, these three nāḍīs are passing parallel to the spinal column, and down at the bottom of the spine there is called the Mūlādhāra Cakra. There is dormant energy and the destiny from the past life that has to be purified and awakened. The second cakra... About two centimeters above the end of the spine is called Svādhiṣṭhāna, where our emotional and psychic problems are. The past time of this life is stored there, where there is anger, jealousy, hate, sexuality, and so on. Then comes the third one, connecting with our navel. The center point of our being is the navel. Our life begins to develop from the navel. And there is the seat of the sound. And there is the seat of the digestive fire. And another cakra, the fourth one, is the heart, and the fifth one is near the vocal cord, nearby, connected to the thyroid. The sixth one is called the third eye, the small of the brain, and the seventh one is on the top of the head, where the Indians or Hindus, they keep like this big hair growing here. People who have depression or psychic problems should let their hair grow, especially here, and tie it. This is the center of nectar, immortality. And the eighth cakra is the sahasrāra at the top of the head. Crown of the head, that is called the door to the supreme. In our whole body, there are 72,000 centers through which the cosmic energy is constantly flowing in and out. Every creature is representing the light of the universe, but not this kind of light. That is a different light, and there are different eyes to see that light, and that is called enlightenment. So when the cakras' energy begins to awake, then the whole body, mind, emotion, and intellect come into balance. So this meditation, which we will do, is only a small glimpse of that vibration. And that is recharging the cells in the body. It means immunity will be stronger. So we do this one, okay? More about these cakras you can read, and next time, maybe when I come, we will have a cakra seminar. You have in Hungarian language a book called "Hidden Powers in Humans." Till I come next time, you should have read it already ten times. Yes, there is a science. Inside is very concentrated information, and very simple, that we all can understand. Now, if you remember, before 25 minutes I told you, the entire creation is searching for happiness. That we call in Sanskrit, ānanda. I am ānanda. I am bliss. I am bliss. Bliss am I. I am happiness. I am not a problem. I am not this illness, I am not this body, I am not this emotion, I am not this mind. Nor the thoughts and intellect, I am not this all. I am the eternal one, supreme, unborn, immortal, everlasting ātmā. That is thyself, and that is called ānanda. And the seat of this ānanda is in the entire body, but connected to the navel. So we will chant, "Ānandoham, Ānandoham, Ānandoham." All is this. Ānandoham means bliss. "Ham" means "I." I am bliss. I am happy. I am happy... If you do not want to be happy, then it is your karma. You do what you want. So here, you have to sit straight, not like that. Boys, sit straight. You close your eyes. First, I will sing a few times, then you will also chant as I do. The word is called Ānandoham. Ānandoham. Again, a little more volume, please, together. Ascending and descending of the vibration of the sound. Descending vibration of the resonance through this spinal column. Penetrating through the whole body. Resonance from everyone reflects on our body. Rub your palms once more, gently rub your face muscles, and open your eyes. Hands move it. This meditation you can do for five minutes, three minutes, two minutes, one minute, or ten minutes, according to your time. Or whenever you feel sad, say, "I am not sad." Ānandoham. This will release the entire tension or stress, and again, a new horizon will open in front of you. I wish you all the best, good health, a happy, harmonious, long life, and God bless you. Thank you for your coming, and tomorrow morning we will take some subject over about cakras, energy, a little bit more, how to control them. So, thank you. Thank you.
