The Light of the Guru and the Door to Heaven

The light of the Guru dispels the darkness of ignorance. Great masters manifest profound spiritual power and grace. The Himalayas hold sacred sites like the door to heaven, Svarga Rohiṇī, where the Pāṇḍavas ascended. Saints like Devpurījī possessed siddhis, commanding rain and fire. Such masters remove the sins of devotees, just as Gaṅgā cleanses. Darkness cannot be prayed away; only light removes it. The Guru is that light. Surrender to that light liberates one from all bondage. Open the eye of the heart through devotion and discipline.

"If one takes shelter in Gurudeva, then that person will be free, no more bandits."

"The best treatment to remove darkness is light. So Gurudev is light."

Filming locations: Strilky Forest, To be determined.

Welcome again to this hall. What was the name of this hall? I forgot and didn't quite catch it. Kailash Hall, yes. Kailash Hall, very good. In the afternoon, we will go to the Krishna Hall. Or Rāma, Rāma is better. Okay, in the afternoon we will be in the Rāma Hall. Very nice. Welcome to all of you, and praṇām to Mahāprabhujī, Śrī Devpurījī, Holī Gurujī, and all Gurujīs. Many blessings to all our friends around the world. It is evening, six o'clock, and all the Europeans are sitting in the office. So, I think this program should be repeated a few times. After we finish this, you can begin to play it again. So, until evening, it should be played four times, four or five times, so that people in different time zones around the world will have the opportunity to see it. And please, people who are managing the webcast should write down the recording time, date, and place. It will be repeated every hour until the next program begins. And when is the next program? You should announce it, and what kind of program it is. Thank you very much. Yesterday evening, many people were disappointed. There was no webcast. They were sitting in front of the black box. And I told you to announce to them that we would be in the forest for sunset meditation, and afterwards it would be late. So that was a mistake or misunderstanding between technical people and untechnical people like me. So, I will tell you about that from yesterday. I announced verbally three times, the day before yesterday, Wednesday evening, very clearly, and yesterday morning also. So yesterday evening, about 8 o'clock, we went for a walk in the Strilky Forest on the hill, a beautiful place, and had a wonderful view of the sunset over the Strilky Villages and our country, the ashram. It was beautiful, an indescribable color in the sky. It was very interesting to observe that nearly every second or every ten seconds you could perceive a different color. Then, Mahāprabhujī organized something. They sent a big, long, black cloud. And the sun disappeared behind the clouds, not on the horizon. Then I said to Mahāprabhujī, "Please come, and we will pray." So as soon as we began to pray, it was a miracle. Out of the black clouds, nothing else but the sun came out. It was perfect for tratak, for meditation, meditation, meditation... So, from the beginning of the prayer till the end of the prayer, Devpurījī was gracious to us and gave his darśan. Devpurījī, who received the light of Alakhpurījī, spent a lot of time in the Himalayas between Kedārnāth and Badrīnāth. And there is a cave up there, it’s called Satopat. And Satopat is one lake. It has, like, a triangle. And it is said that Brahmā, Viṣṇu, and Maheśa, all three, used to spend their best time of the summer there. Above that is called Sūryakuṇḍ. Kuṇḍ means pond. Kuṇḍ means some deep place where the water is. And near above, there was Devpurījī’s cave. You will see in the next booklet our beautiful videos waiting for you. And above that, beside, there is what is called Śāstradhārā. Sahasrāra means thousand, like Sahasrāra Cakra. Dhārā means the streams, so from the hills, mountains, waterfalls, beautiful streams, one thousand, and it reminds me that it is like a sea. Śiva’s hair is not a water dhārā, but it is his hair. Energy, and I think that’s how the Gaṅgā comes to Śiva’s head. Our dear Sādhvī Śāntī spent a lot of time there in the last few years. And above there is another place, Svarga Rohiṇī, no? Svarga means heaven, Svarga Loka. And Rohiṇī is one nakṣatra, a constellation, but it is also a path, a door. And that is known as the door to heaven. If you remember, and you read the Śrīmad Bhāgavatam, and the story about the Pāṇḍavas, after the Mahābhārata battle, they ruled the kingdom, and after a certain time they renounced themselves. The five Pāṇḍavas and Draupadī decided to go now to heaven. So, all of them made their way towards the Svarga Rohiṇī. That time’s path was very hard. Now you can see the rocks because of global warming. But before 5,000 years, there were only glaciers and snow. And it was not easy. In some places, to cross the valley, which was very deep, a behemoth, mighty, with a lot of power, he used to move a big rock and make a bridge. So that bridge, which is here and still exists now, is called Bhīma Pūla. No? The bridge of Bhīma. Likewise, the four plus Draupadī. They couldn’t manage due to the extreme cold. In extreme cold and hard way, but it is said that Yudhiṣṭhira managed. And it is said that they had a very nice, dear, obedient dog. And somehow that dog managed to follow Yudhiṣṭhira. There, Yudhiṣṭhira gets the blessing of Alakhpurījī. Alakhpurījī is the Guru of Śrī Devpurījī. And they asked the Pāṇḍavas why they went this way, because they said they could only enter heaven if they had the blessing of Alakhpurījī. And they asked the Pāṇḍavas why they chose this way to heaven, and why they wanted to go to heaven there. And they answered that we can go to heaven only when we get the blessing of Alakhpurījī. So Yudhiṣṭhira could manage to come. There is one cave, and that cave is Alakhpurījī’s cave. And you have read in the Bhāgavatam and in old scriptures that a chariot came from heaven. You may say, like a balloon basket. With beautiful decoration, it landed there, and the pilot of the kocharu, with folded hands, came to Yudhiṣṭhira and said, "Your Highness is waiting for you. I am sent by the king of heaven, Indra. Please come and bless us." So he stepped into the chariot. And, of course, that loyal, faithful dog also jumped in. And all of them went into heaven and disappeared in the sky. You see, so that is a place called the door to heaven. The dignity, the mystery, the spirituality of the Himalaya is indescribable. And that is also connecting to India. Of course, the other part of the Himalayas, also like China, also, there have been many, many great saints there. And the seat of Śiva is Kailāśwarananda. Mount, and it is said that modern archaeology and science state that the human race began from there, and that is now in China, as Tibet, so that was the power of the Mount. And Śiva is the one who manifests Viṣṇu and Brahmā, and so on. So, Śrī Devpurījī, who then brought this light and wisdom of Alakhpurījī to India, especially to Rajasthan, because he was from Rajasthan, and Devpurījī, who had these old siddhis, perfections, you can read more in the Līlā Amṛta book. Written by our beloved Satgurujī, Bhagavān Madhavānandajī Mahārāj. So when you come to know this, then your heart opens and you have longing. It is true. There was also one man in Gujarat. In Gujarat, there was also one man who had a family, and he was a very, very holy man, and very well known in India, but especially in Gujarat. It is said that he was grazing his cows all day when the chariot came from heaven. It is time for you to take him. So his name was Jalārām Bāpu. They called him Bāpu Jalārām Bāpu. In Gujarati, Bāpū means father or grandfather. So if I come there, they will tell me, "Bāpū, kaiso Bāpū? How are you, Bāpū?" Mahatma Gandhi was also known as Bapu, Mahatma Gandhi. Bapu Gandhījī, so this is in the Gujarati language tradition. So there have been great saints, and there still are. There is one other story, which I will make short. In Rajasthan also, in district Nagor, there is one place called Gotan. They were living together, one master and disciple. And the master was the old disciple, also more or less old. Of course, about 30 years difference. And the disciple went for alms and came back. Meanwhile, the master dug his grave, and he said to the people and his disciples, "Now, with my own will, I will renounce this body." And so he sat in that. The disciple said, "Guru Dev, what will I do without you here?" So he said, "Then come, let’s go together." So he sat beside him. And both chanted Oṃ. Finished. That’s called oneness of the Master and disciple. Ask your heart, and ask your mind. Suppose. Now I will make here samādhi. And you say, "Swāmījī, what will we do alone without you?" I will say, come sit in. No, my children and my husband and my wife, are you ready to sit in? That’s it. It’s very hard. You cannot. We need that much spiritual development, living a very normal life. But just be. That’s it. Just be a mother. Be a friend. Be a father. So just be, that’s it. Gandhījī said that you should change. Be the change you want to see. Then everything is okay. Devpurījī, who had all the powers, for him to give life to any dead creature was nothing, very normal. And if he was somewhere sitting and meditating or just residing somewhere, when he was sitting somewhere, meditating or just staying somewhere, and it started to rain, Devpurījī looked up and said, "Indra, be careful." And immediately, there was about thirty feet around him with no drop, like an umbrella over him. Sometimes he used to take fire from his dhūni somewhere, and the rain was strong rain, but that water did not put out his fire. The person who saw this, who was with him, Devpurījī said, "Indra, do you want your kingdom or not?" That is the strength of their spirituality, their discipline. Similarly, I have heard there was a saint in Greece. His name was Nektarios. And they said when it was raining and he was sitting somewhere or meditating, also, thirty feet around him, there was no raindrop. And due to some religious conflicts. Or conflict between people and other people. They changed his grave, his body from one place to another village, and from one other village to another village. They said that his body is as it is, and he has such a good smell, and some stupid fanatic person said, "We don’t want his grave near our church. He is like a devil," and again they took the body out and put it somewhere else. Now his body is there on a small island near Athens. The island is known as Aegina. It’s a 20-minute to half-hour ferry ride. And there is a monastery called Katerina Monastery. And there is that samādhi of Holy Nectario. And thousands of people are going there as pilgrims. And if you go there, you smell a beautiful smell, though he is under the earth. So, there is a spirituality. There is a greatness. And so, sometimes you say that Gurudev can reach you through his astral form. He will accompany you, just like walking beside you, where you have the smell of him. Hundreds of kilometers, thousands of kilometers. And those are the masters. And it is the tapasyā and good karma from many, many lives, and it is said when you meet a master, your past deeds, all negatives, are just pulled down and removed. As soon as you get negative feelings, then you are directed again to that jungle, then again you are there. Therefore, you know the Holy Mother Gaṅgā. And it is said, Holy Mother Gaṅgā. She appeared on this planet to take away our sins. And that’s why water became holy at that time. Which is used in every religion. So great saints come here to excuse us, to forgive us. Means to take our sins away. And great saints, great thinkers, they will accept you always; it doesn’t matter what you have done. Just circling, hours and hours. And that’s called the veerling dance. Beautiful, and when they are doing, they are like an eagle in the sky. Just fluttering in the air, and he said, "Come to me as you are. Don’t hesitate." If you made a mistake or not, if you are a sinner or not. If you are a good man or a bad man, of course, or a woman. Come to me as you are. That is the heart of God. And that is God’s heart. Do not hesitate. So you see, around the world, everywhere there were holy saints. They are known as the guru. That is the guru paramparā. And that we have to follow. So, holy Gurujī said, our Gurudev, when you enter the cave, anywhere in the mountains, inside it is very dark. And you tell the darkness, "Please, darkness, you have been here for millions of years, now please go away." It will not go away. Darkness will say, "What do you think? The mind is my birthright here; no one can move me from here." Darkness sits, and you can pray to him, kneel down; it will not go away. But make a light, and darkness immediately disappears. The best treatment to remove darkness is light. So Gurudev is light. And our sin is the darkness of ignorance. It can be removed within no time. Can you see where the light is burning? And there is sitting a darkness? No. Similarly, where you sit near the Gurudeva, there is no more darkness of sin and ego. But if you create a curtain between, then you are in darkness. Curtain means doubt. And sometimes you had such a great love, devotion, everything. And that means not also that you are a test. It means not that you are depending, no, but you have it. Keep it. Otherwise, you go down into the black hole. It is said, under the lamp is always dark. True? If you have a candle in your hand, and can you read down in your hand what is written? It is not. Therefore, do not go under your ignorance, your conflicts, your doubts, and so on. Therefore, Mahāprabhujī said, very nicely. At the end of this bhajan, he said, "If one takes shelter in Gurudeva, then that person will be free, no more bandits. If one finds protection in Gurudeva, such a person will be liberated, and nothing will bother him anymore. There are no conditions, there are no wishes, there are no demands. Gurudeva doesn’t need anything anymore. Only one thing: that you are happy. Go where you want. Be happy. Be free. Believe what you want. That’s it. Surrender, but be aware that you are. Wherever the sun is moving, the light is moving. So, clear up from your heart such thoughts that you did many bad things. Now, you came to do good things. So, Gandhījī said, "We don’t hate the sinner." We hate the sin, and that’s God. God doesn’t hate you. He hates the sin, and that’s why He is removing the sin. Understand, accept it, and just be. At that time, your heart is wide open. Your consciousness is clear, and you become the ambassador of that light. Light of Mokṣa, Ātmajñāna, which has the content of happiness, what we call Paramānanda, Supreme Bliss, that has a content of liberation. So light, love, peace, harmony, everything is contained in one. In that light, and that we call enlightenment. But in the present, we are just lighted, not enlightened. So, such masters, even if they are not physically here, their energy, their beauty, their words, their movement, their fragrance will remain, and that is the sign of a real Satguru. Therefore, when you meet such a master, then you come to know what it is. That time, automatically, you are one. Akhiyā Satguru Caraṇamī lagī, Akhiyā Satguru Caraṇ Dīp Dayā, Lūkā Caraṇ Kamal Miṣṭha. You know, Akhiyā means the eyes. Akṣa means the eyes. But you know, there are many different kinds of eyes. These are physical eyes. But there are also eyes of the heart. When that eye opens, then you see that beauty and that light. That’s why Holī Gurujī said in one of the bhajans, "Prathama vairāgya sādhanā, bhajanā." Holī Gurujī likhā, "Hṛdaye kamala kī āṅkheṅ khul jāyeṅ. Hṛdaye kamala kī jo ḍāle nit naina, añjana jo ḍāle nit naina." When one locomotive is going to the north and another truck is going to the right, then you cannot harmonize. So my voice is different from hers. Sant is harmonium, and Sant’s harmonium is different than her voice, and her voice is different than your voice. So let’s stop here, singing. Śānti Śānti... Añjana means the pest, eye pest, of the name, you know, for the little children it is very important that they have, especially this black pest in their eyes, it will be beautiful eyes, it will develop, and I, I,... Hair, you know, lashes, lashes will be beautiful. So, hṛde kamal kī eka chul jāve, the eyes of your Anāhat Cakra open, your heart opens. Jo dale nīta nīma kā añjana, if you will be disciplined, every day you will put that paste of the name of Guru Dev. That mantra. Tu mantra. Which mantra? And which mantra? If you see the mantra saying "Hove Man Manjan," through this mantra, your mind and your heart will be cleansed of all negative thoughts. And your heart begins to dance. When the heart is dancing, then the intellect is blossoming. What does blossoming mean? Beautiful thoughts. And when the intellect is blossoming, then the jīvātmā is happy. And when the jīvātmā is happy, then ātmajñāna is there. So, we will translate this bhajan. Akhyā Satguru Caraṇamayī Lagī, this bhajan. And this evening, after the webcast, we will see a beautiful film about Holy Mother Gaṅgā. And I’m looking forward to this beautiful video, where our spiritual lineage begins. You must have this. To have this only in your library, Videotech, it will have some different energies. So, Dr. Shanti has been working on this subject for the last five years. The problem is there, where she was for five years, always there. So I have to give a little injection, so that you can get quicker. The problem is that this is six hours of material; how do we make it twenty minutes? So we will make it 20 minutes, 40 minutes, half an hour, one hour; we don’t know. So this evening, afternoon means 5:30, will be again very precise: five exercises against back aching. I have received feedback that Harriet did a good job yesterday, and I asked the people, but I was not there. She said, "Swāmījī, sometimes it’s good that disciples do, you are not there." So it means she did perfectly. So today, there will be five chosen exercises, and our dear Hariet will do them. And we will be in the Araṇya Vana, God Rāma’s forest, so at 5:30 our dear Hariet will do it. And around 4:30, people who are for Kriyā should come. Wait here under the trees, and I will announce. Even I don’t announce until five, don’t worry. Even here. But, you know that you are fulfilling all the criteria. Yes, I wish you a beautiful afternoon. I know today is Thursday, and many are not eating, having a fast, but we will definitely get some fruits and nuts. I hope that they put out a fruit salad, and it will be good. Fruit salad, some nuts, enjoy, and in that fruit salad, a little honey. Oh my god, now you know I am making your appetite bigger. So, webcast, 5:30 in the afternoon, and then 8 o’clock, prayer time. Until then, I wish all the best to you. Our all dear friends, bhaktas around the world. And next time, the title, time, and place will always be announced. Dīp Nārāyaṇa Bhagavānakī, Deveśvara Mahādevakī, Dharma Samrāṭ, Satguru Svāmī Madhavānandajī Bhagavānakī, Satya Sanātana.
