Welcome Address and Teachings on the Universality of Yoga

Welcome. Yoga is universal, authored by Lord Śiva before any religion existed. Śiva manifests from universal light as the first resonance, Aum. That resonance prevents the body from dissolving. A tendency within consciousness gives rise to multiplication. A seed must die to multiply. It is said: die to live. The individual soul originates from Śiva Jyoti. Anyone who meditates is Śiva. Closing the eyes in sleep rests in Śiva’s lap. Yoga predates Śiva’s manifestation. Yoga can be practiced by all religions without conflict. Rejecting yoga because of disbelief in Hinduism is narrow thinking. Everything is in Hinduism, and Hinduism is in everything. This week focuses on authentic yoga practice. A water diet and mosquito relocation are prescribed. The program develops willpower through karma yoga.

“So it is said in the Śāstras, you have to die in order to live.”

“Yoga is universal. It should be practiced by all religions; there is no conflict.”

Bhagavān Kī Jaya, Śrī Svāmī Madhavānandajī, Kṛṣṇa, Bhagavān Kī Jaya, Śrī Svāmī Maheśvarānandajī, Guru Deva Kī Jaya. Yes. Hari Om, dear Swamiji. Hari Om, dear Swamijī. Hari Om, everyone. Please allow me to welcome you to the seminar in the beautiful environment of the Strelka Castle. Hari Om, all. I would like to welcome you all to the beautiful surroundings of the Strelka Mahāprabhujī Āśram. We are very happy that you came, and we are happy that you keep coming throughout the whole year. Because without you, this ashram would not have its meaning. We have spent a beautiful week together with Swāmījī. It was full of lectures, satsaṅgs, practicing, and walks. And of course there was time for food, for eating. Whoever had not had enough of the ashram food could also come to the lassi shop or the newly opened pizza restaurant or cafe. The whole week was run by ashram people and karma yogīs, and we would like to thank all of you for helping with running the ashram. The only people who were a bit sad were the owners of the little shops in the yard, because people were so busy practicing that they forgot to buy anything. So I would like to wish all of you, as you perhaps hear in the beginning of yoga classes, that you put all your troubles, sorrows, and stress behind the door and spend time just for yourself. We are very happy that Swāmījī has found time to spend three weeks here with us in Strilky Āśram. And let’s make him happy also, and let’s work upon ourselves. Děkuji. Thank you. Děkuji, Swāmījī. Thank you. Thank you. You should know Swamījī is always happy. Today is Friday, and also the 2nd of July, something very special, that’s why you are here. Many things have been explained by Gaṅgā, so you are most welcome again at home. We have many homes, but this is one of the best homes, sorry. And we are very happy today. Also, that especially our dear Swāmī Gajananjī came from Vancouver, Canada. This is for you, Swāmījī. Yes, that’s it. Last week we had a beautiful program. Many of you are here. Many come for satsaṅg. And I must tell you that last week, the group was very disciplined. They were all practicing. It was very beautiful to be with them, and now you are here, and I see you are very disciplined. We have this seminar retreat according to Yoga in Daily Life. Yoga in Daily Life is made out of authentic yogic scriptures, literature, and ancient yogic literature. The author of yoga is Lord Śiva. Śiva is the creator of wisdom, spirituality, and language. Mantras, everything, Śiva himself is a yogī. Śiva introduced the yogī way of life, as he manifests himself from the universal light, the first resonance. And before the resonance, it is said, or maybe it was a wish. Now the wish is too little. A wish is selfish. So, or the will is also selfish when saying, “Lord, Thy will be done.” We say, “Lord, your will be done.” That is too little. Therefore, it is called a tendency, that energy. And in that tendency, it is. The potentiality inside is called, “I am one, and now I will multiply.” When we put one seed in the ground, in the earth, in good soil, the seed has to die. The seed has to give up its own existence. For what? To multiply. So it is said in the Śāstras, Vedas, and Upaniṣads. In the Rāmāyaṇa, the Rāmāyaṇa time was 10,000 years ago, and the Bhagavad Gītā time was more than 5,000 years, nearly 6,000 now. It is said, you have to die in order to live. How do we understand? You have to die. You must die to live. Abys žil. Mahāprabhujī said in his bhajan. While you are living, you have died. Neither are you a siddha, nor are you a prophet. Swami Deep Avadhūta Avaliya, Mahāvīreṅke Vīr. But that one is a great one, yogī, Avadhūta. So Śiva is also called Avadhūta. Mahāvīreṅke vīra, heroes of the heroes. So that tendency in that energy, in that consciousness, awoke as the resonance, Aum. Nowadays, what they call big sound, big bang, or what they call... No, Śānti, what do they call it? The Big Bang. But it was not like that. The Big Bang is like an earthquake. It was not like that. The Big Bang is like a terrorizing event. Terrorizing, not terroristic. That can be in your heart. I mean, not this terrorist, what you call. And when you talk to the terrorist, they say, about which terrorist are you talking? So, this subject we shall leave for the politicians. Because they include it. They are very nice. They try to protect countries, culture, and Mother Earth will never lose the seed, and that is the universe. Universal Mother, and in her body. Residing in that consciousness, and in that consciousness there is a tendency. And that is called resonance, very fine. If that resonance were not here, our body would fall apart. It will just dissolve. Suddenly your finger is dissolving, you don’t know. Every particle is just flying away. But it is that prāṇa, now, that tendency which keeps resonance together. I’m happy to be with you. Because this afternoon we spoke on the subject of our lectures and satsaṅg. And that is Creator, Protector, and Liberator. And that is within us. That is residing in our navel. And manifesting, from there to the vocal cords. Protected by the gyānendriyas and liberated by that consciousness, Sahasrāra Cakra, Śiva, Brahmā, Viṣṇu, and Śiva. These are the three principles: Akhāṛā is that Brahma, that Nirguṇa to Sarguṇa. Akhāṛā means form, and Akhāṛā is that which is protecting, keeping, maintaining, and sustaining. And Makāra is Mokṣa. Maheshwaraṇanda Purījī, Kumbha Maheshwaraṇanda Purījī, Kumbha... Maheshwaraṇanda. The whole cosmic energy was projected into the flame. And that becomes known as Jīvanjyoti, the flame of life. And from this flame of life, Jīvanjyoti, that’s also called Śivjyoti, consciousness. Pure consciousness. And from that jyoti, Śiva manifested. How? Sitting in meditation. So he’s meditating for yugas and yugas. It is said that when gods, goddesses, Vishnu, Brahma, and others want to visit Śiva, they were waiting until he would open his eyes. And they said, “Hurry up before he closes his eyes, then no one can wake him up.” One with Universe Meditation. So Śiva means meditation. Anyone who meditates is Śiva. Anyone who closes eyes to go to sleep, they are going in the lap of Śiva. They are Śiva. So Jīva and Śiva, we are the Jīva — means individual soul — and our origin is that Śiva Jyoti, that Śiva, and so Yoga was the universal one, even before Śiva manifested himself. Hey boys and girls, don’t disturb here, okay? Keep your prasad there. Don’t move in between. Vipuṣpa here, guard. Why did you let them come here? Go stand there, don’t sit here. Śrī Dīp Nārāyaṇ Bhagavān Kī Jaya, Śrī Alakhpurījī, Siddha Pīṭha Guru, Paramparā Kī Jaya, Viśvaguru, Mahāmaṇḍaleśvara, Paramahaṃsvāmī, Maheśvarānandajī, Gurujī, Kī Jaya. Thank you, Dr. Svāmī Sādhvī Śānti Devī Jī. Thank you, Dr. Sādhvī Swāmī. Yes. Śānti Jī kī? Jai. Jai. Very good. You see, when the program is there, people should not move. Well, so Śiva itself is yoga. At that time, there was no name for any religion. It’s trillions of years. Therefore, yoga is universal. It should be practiced and practiced by all religions; there is no conflict. Is it narrow thinking when you say, “I will not chant Oṁ”? I will not practice yoga because I do not believe in Hinduism. Then what do you believe? If you don’t believe in Hinduism, then you don’t believe in anything. Everything is in Hinduism, and Hinduism is in everything. This is a narrow thinking that is called conflict. Anyhow, therefore, the authority of yoga is Lord Śiva. He is the master, or he blessed us with all knowledge, mantra, this, this, this. And equal vision. He tried to balance both energies, negative and positive. Devī Śakti, Āsurī Śakti. And therefore, even the Asuras were obeying the Lord Śiva. So, the subject is changing. Yoga in Daily Life is based on ancient yogic literature. It is authentic. And therefore, you are in the right place. Program Kṛiyānustam. Program: Kṛyānuṣṭhānī Haṭha Yoga Lectures, Practical and Theory for Juniors and Seniors Programs. And every day, one and a half hour program for Yoga Teachers, because many Yoga Teachers did not have practical and theoretical programs. And those yoga teachers who have over kilos, from tomorrow onwards, go on the water diet. Strictly water is very good, water, or you may get some tomatoes and a few cherries. So, you have to be a yoga teacher. Your body tells if you are a yoga teacher or not. That’s why I quit myself. I have to say, upke meldet from yoga teacher. Please stay. That’s it. And I ask my body, go only for water. I asked my body to be only on water, and it said yes. So there will be instructions for yoga teachers, and the special subject will be yogic breath and prāṇas. Then, to develop our willpower to control our ego, we will have karma yoga for everyone, all. Maybe only half an hour, and you have to catch all the mosquitoes from this area in one jar, and we will go. There is a far away nice lake, there are no people, and things like that. We will emigrate them there. The program will be nice, and I think we will put on a lot of webcasts. Almost every program. Sometimes children’s program, junior program, senior program. Karma Yogīs Programme, Yoga Teachers Programme, so our dear friends around the world can also be some part of our activities. And if they wish, they are welcome to come. So welcome, and I wish you a very pleasant stay. You have to take care of your things. Not only that, somebody can steal, but nobody will steal. But you forget somewhere. Then you think it is stolen. Therefore, please take care of your documents and money. You can give it to the office in one envelope. And in sleeping rooms, mobile phones are not allowed. And when it is a good night, after half an hour, when you finish your bathrooms, you are not allowed to have light anymore. So it means respect your neighbors. Once more, welcome. And bless you in the name of Mahāprabhujī. Light, Siddha Pīṭha Program you have, as usual, always. Program you have, as usual, as always. And breakfast is from 8 to 8:45. Then we go for a walk, about one and a half hour. Then we come back. And then from 11 to 12 we have a lecture, and so on. All the best once more. Welcome. Deep Nārāyaṇ Bhagavān Kī Jai. Devī Śvara Mahādeva Kī Jai. Mahātmā Kṛṣṇa Bhagavān Kī Jai. Mahātmā Kī Jai.
