Brahmagyana and Brahmananda
Bhajan is the second mantra, a powerful practice using the words of saints. There are two kinds: nirguṇa bhajans for the formless God and saguṇa bhajans for God with form. Self-realized saints compose nirguṇa bhajans. To attain this knowledge, one needs a living master from a spiritual lineage, the Siddha Pīṭha. Joining this lineage is like water merging into the Ganges; you receive the blessings of all past masters and become part of that chain. The formless God, Nirguṇa Brahman, is supreme bliss beyond all qualities. When that knowledge awakens, all desires vanish. We are here due to our karma. Saguṇa bhakti is worship of a divine incarnation or realized saint in a physical form. It is an easier path. The personal mantra from an authentic master is your torchlight. You must nourish it with devotion. Without persistent effort, like the fox trying to open a coconut, you cannot enjoy the fruit of the practice.
"Gurur Brahmā, Gurur Viṣṇu, Guru Devo Maheśvaraḥ. Guru Sākṣāt Para Brahma, Tasmai Śrī Gurave Namaḥ."
"Rām nām nāriyal bīm. Man siyāl guḍāyon le jāī. Phodiyaan toh phute nahi, giri kaan se khai."
