Our subject is Nāḍī Yoga, chakras, and kuṇḍalinī. We continue with the seat of the sound, the center of the universe, which is called the universal navel. If you know it, then you are the liberated one. If you do not know, you should know—through the practice of Yoga, Jīva Yoga, and Nāḍī Yoga. In our body, we have the main center chakra, the head of all, which is the Maṇipūra Chakra. The first thing created in the physical body was the Maṇipūra Chakra. It means the light and the sound. Light and sound were concentrated on one point, and that was the Maṇipūra Cakra. After that, all the different systems developed in the body: different organs, nerves, muscles, and so on. Now, our whole body is tuned in a beautiful sound, a resonance. It is that resonance which leads our body from place to place: the sound, the light, and the energy. These three come together. The energy is that cosmic Śakti. The light is that cosmic consciousness. The sound is the cosmic resonance. This enables a creature to move and to come to its aim, to its destination. It does not matter what kind of destination you have. Without light, you cannot find a way. This light does not mean physical light. It is the light of wisdom, the light of intuition, the light which guides you inwardly, perhaps through the senses—through smell, through sound, and so on. That is the light meant. Enlightenment does not mean you will see this physical light. Enlightenment means the wisdom through which everything becomes clear to you. For example, if you lose a valuable document and do not know where it is, you are in ignorance. You do not know where it is. This is a darkness; you search everywhere and do not find it. Then you go to your sleeping room, make your bed, and find the document under your pillow. Now you have gained the knowledge; you know what it is and where it is. The ignorance has disappeared. That ignorance which made you unhappy, nervous, or angry—which created more work—was the darkness. Darkness means ignorance. Ignorance means that darkness of not knowing. Enlightenment is the knowledge. Now you know where your document is. You do not see a light like this, but you know. That is called the light of wisdom, the light of knowledge. It means there are many things we do not know about ourselves, many things we do not know about others, and many things we do not know about God. We do not know the purpose of life. We are searching for everything. We are even searching for ourselves. We are searching: Where are we? Who are we? Where is the peace within ourselves? Where is contentment? Where is happiness? Also, we know that within us there are negative qualities too. You may call it anger, you may call it jealousy, you may call it different things. If we know, we can remove them, and if we know, we can develop more. So, ignorance is the darkness, and knowledge is the light. Now, with this light of knowledge, we have that energy, the cosmic energy. Energy is produced through that resonance, the cosmic resonance. That resonance, which we call the cosmic resonance—the Aum—is energy, light, and resonance. We can develop this resonance physically as well, meaning by chanting our mantra, chanting songs and bhajans, and playing instruments. This is a physical sound, but if the sound is in harmony, it awakens inner positive energy. If the sound is more aggressive, restless, influenced by rajas guṇas, then it influences energy differently. Energy, sound, and light—these three are stored or have their place in the navel. Energy comes to the iḍā, the light comes to the piṅgalā, and the resonance comes to the suṣumṇā. These three nāḍīs connect us to our inner self. Kriyā Yoga is a very powerful technique. Which kriyā? There are many, many kriyās in the world. Every kriyā is very powerful. Every student, every practitioner who gained experiences, who attained enlightenment, who came to realization, had a particular technique. You have to be faithful to this technique, not only for a few years, but for life. This body is given to you for physical life; it is a lifelong body on this planet. You have to be in this body, and you do not want to give it up because the body has become part of your existence, part of your identity, part of your instrument. This body has become your house, and you do not know anything more than this. That is why you would like to keep the body, because we are afraid: What will happen to us? Where will we be? Which kind of karma will come? Where will destiny lead us? What will be with all these things? We work hard, day and night, trying very hard with everything. Sometimes we lie. How many times does a businessman lie? It is said psychologically that a businessman lies a minimum of 250 times per day to sell goods. That is life. That is business. You get something for one crown and want to sell it for five crowns. To sell it for five crowns, you have to lie. You do not want to give it for one crown because you know you must also earn, you must also have something, you must also live. So, to live, you have to lie. That is the problem. There was a man who was against allopathic medicine and against doctors. It was not nice of him. We should never be against anyone. We should never be against any medicine. Allopathic medicine has made great research, and in an emergency, you will know what this medicine means—it can save your life. Other medicines are also very good. Just because you did not get relief through one medicine does not mean the whole system is bad. But there are some people who are angry with doctors. Thanks to God, doctors are never angry. The doctor knows this is the ignorance of this person. The doctor says it is my dharma to help, that is it. It does not matter which kind of doctor it is—allopathic, homeopathic, ayurvedic, naturopathic, and so on. This man was against doctors, and he had one friend. Can you imagine gossiping? Whenever he met his other friend, who was a positive one, he would say, "Doctors are terrible. The whole pharmacy system is terrible, only commercial, putting blackmail." Who is gossiping? What will be the frog? And who is listening? What will be the snake? That is it. If someone is talking about something which is not divine, you should not listen; otherwise, you will also become a snake. Though you are not guilty, someone gave you negative feed, blackmailing. We can see poisonous mailing. Surprisingly, the man who was always talking against doctors and medicines went to a doctor. The doctor was well aware that this was a person who did not like doctors. The doctor was happy, took a photo, and spoke with him. The doctor wrote a prescription for what medicine he should take. The man said, "Thank you." He went to the chemist and bought some medicine. In a small village, everyone knows everyone. People were surprised that he was going to buy medicine. He had often said, "Even if I die, do not give me medicine, do not let a doctor touch my body." There are fixed ideas. The people working in the chemist shop also took a photo of him taking the medicine in hand. Evidence will never die. He went to his friend and told him. His friend was surprised. The doctor cost him money, the medicine cost him money, and they went for a walk. They were walking over a small bridge on a river. The negative man took the medicine, opened it, and threw it in the river. The other one said, "You must be crazy. I do not understand you. Why are you so against doctors and medicines? Why did you go to the doctor?" He said, "Because the doctor must live from something. In this way, I am positive." "Then why did you buy the medicine?" "Because the pharmacy and people should also live." "Then why do you not take this medicine? Why did you throw it?" "I also want to live." That is it. Sometimes in life, lie and truth go parallel. But everything is counted. Therefore, in our life, negative energy creates negative vibration in the body, and positive thoughts and energies create positive vibration. That will lead us in their direction. In the human body, energy, light, and sound are very important. These three are located in our navel center, the Maṇipūra Cakra. Now we come to a different part of the body. Imagine your country, the map of your country. I hope you know the map of your country. You know which country connects to your border, and you know how the map looks. Every country has its border, and your border is guarded by your military force, the Border Security Force. I think every country has this. There is no country existing which does not have a security force—in Kali Yuga, unfortunately. Similarly, for the 8.4 million different creatures which exist in this endless universe in physical form, plus the individual... 8.4 million is only the count of different forms, but how many are there in total? We cannot count anymore. Now, there are two different worlds existing: the physical world and the astral world. For your soul, for your real self—who is a victim of destiny, a victim of birth, who will be a victim of death—you will exist individually on this planet or in the astral world. These are two worlds: physical and astral. Feelings, understandings, everything that we have in the physical body, we will have in the astral world too. If you do not believe in existence after birth and after death, then why are you talking about heaven? Who is coming to heaven? Or why are you talking about paradise? Who is coming there? Or why do you talk about nirvāṇa? Who is coming there, or what we call svarga? It means after this physical body, the individual still exists. In the physical world, we can create karma. In the physical world, we can act. Our actions will have fruits, reactions. For example, if you are locked in a room, you can make a sound, knock on the door, or call, "Please help me." It will be heard, and someone will come and help you come out. But after the physical body, in the astral, you can knock as much as you like, but there is no one to listen—not only knocking on a door. You can knock on the chest of your wife who is sleeping, and in the astral body, you are knocking her. No effect. It means it is very clear: every individual, whether human or other creature, has a destiny. Destiny leads you. All the tricks you did in this life, all the negativity you did in this life, all the times you tried to become clever in an incorrect way—you will suffer a thousand times more. That is it. Do not be afraid. Do not be afraid, never and never, of anyone. Do not be scared, but you should be afraid of only one thing: karma. Physical karma, mental karma, verbal karma—with social position, or through thinking, intellectual. That is all. So, if you take care now, you will be more comfortable here, and a thousand times more comfortable you will be somewhere. Again, the sound, energy, and resonance—all these are not visible. That is a major part which will be your astral body, and that will lead you there. Now, how many creatures, how many billions or trillions, exist in physical form now? And how many times more exist in the astral body? We do not know. Each physical creature is like one country. It is one phenomenon, or one house, and this house has its territory. This territory is guarded by cosmic power energy. No creature is left without guarding. It is they who will take care of you, ensuring you remain an individual until you come to that knowledge, that self-realization, where you will merge into the universal one. At that time, your existence will be universal existence. It is said that when the human body was created, or a human being, definitely many powers were involved—whatever you may call them. How did it happen that a human got rights? There must be energy that was right. A clerk working in a small office has a few rights, but the president has mostly all rights. Mostly, humans got the rights—meaning to protect, not to misuse your rights, not to misguide others, not to act negatively towards others. Narase Nārāyaṇa: through human, you can become God. That is why you got those powers. Now, the human got 52 different extra powers of resonance, which guard human existence. This does not mean your social life, your house, your work, and so on, but purely as this model and what is within as a human. There are fifty-two different kinds of protective energy, which have sound, light, and energy. This is guarding your territory—the physical body, mental body, subtle body, and causal body—to guard you and supply you all the energy you need. It is a long, long story. When it began, the answer cannot be given very correctly. We say that without dying, you cannot see heaven. You can talk about heaven, but exactly how it is, you have to die. After death, if you do not see heaven, it is your problem. That is it. Therefore, do not die to see heaven, because in such a way, there is no heaven. These 52 different kinds of sound channels you may call devas, goddesses in Sanskrit or in Hindi. Devas must not be like humans, what we call god incarnation, devas and asuras. You may call them the holy and satans. They must not be like a human or something. We call Agni Deva, so fire is a god. Fire is divine. Vāyu Deva, all five elements—the holy earth, the mother earth. Similarly, there are many other elements, tattvas. That means the different God is... God is only one. But there are many manifestations. You have only one: your Ātmā. Your Ātmā represents the universal one. But as a soul, jīvātmā, you are an individual. An individual has this destiny: to face destiny in this world and to face destiny in the other world. How will it be? Only you know. Do not ask me, "Swamiji, what will be my destiny?" Did you ask me always before thinking something? Did you ask me before drinking water, "Can I drink water?" Did you ask me, "Can I make a curve to the left side, to the right side?" Everything you do is your karma, and you know that. Do not ask anyone, not even God, "What will be with me?" God said, "You know better." That is it. So, do not hide before yourself. And still, it is not too late; you can begin to do something better. Sometimes it is painful for this stupid intellect: "Now, I cannot go back." There was one man born in Maribor, in Slovenia, ex-Yugoslavia. It was immediately after the Second World War. They had one son, about ten years old. He went to the neighbor's garden and stole some corn. He came back and gave it to his grandmother. "Grandmother, I would like to eat corn today." Grandmother said, "Yes, my son. From where did you get it?" He said, "I stole it." Grandmother said, "Okay, take this back to the man to whom the garden belongs. Give it back to him and say, 'I am sorry I was stealing from your garden.' Then you come back." Can you imagine for that boy how hard it is to go back and say, "I was stealing"? Grandmother said, "No, you must go and see." He went. That gardener said, "Oh, my boy, it does not matter. Take it home and eat. Next time when you need more, come to me. I will give you." He came happily home, and grandmother asked, "How was it?" He told her. So, never be afraid to correct your mistake. You should go and surrender. Your ego is too strong? "No, I will not say." Then you will have to face more pain. So, it is never too late to begin to correct your life. Sit and say to your friends, "I am sorry, forgive me. Out of my ignorance, my ego, I neglected you, or I did something." Every karma will have a reaction, and so destiny will lead your astral body. And there is still sound, light, and energy. So, in the human body, the 52 strong channels are a protective energy—that is protective sound, and that is protective energy. All these 52 are guarding our chakras. Every chakra, which is designed, is given the name Lotus. About the Lotus, we know a lot. Each petal is a seat of that sound—a very gentle resonance, light, and energy. Yogīs, perhaps Lord Śiva in meditation, perceived these sounds as forms and recorded them. We call this the Devanāgarī alphabet. Deva means goddess, nāgarī means citizens. So, it is the divine energy, the divine citizens of the divine world, guarding and protecting your existence and this planet, and in the future, wherever you are. Now, these are 52 different channels. They observe, guide, protect, and care about your well-being. Therefore, we have the major eight chakras, which we often speak about. All these major chakras—there are thousands of centers in the body—but the majors are these eight. From these eight chakras, everything is guided and directed by one center: the Nābhi Kamal. From the Nābhi Kamal, the energy, the sound, and the light are spread in the body. When you begin to do some kriyā—let us say you are only repeating your mantra, that is also your kriyā. Or you do every day only tratak, or you do certain prāṇāyāma, or you do a kriyā every day which your master gave you—a combination of bandhas, mudrās, mantras, concentrations, sound, and light. After certain years, many, many years, all these techniques you are doing concentrate directly on the maṇipūra cakra. They purify and awaken these three very important principles: sound, light, and energy. We can also awaken through Nāḍī Yoga. Our entire existence is nothing other than only a sound. Imagine that one bee is flying, and we see a bee. But this bee is only a sound; you do not see the bee. Similarly, you are only a sound. Now, the sound is balanced or imbalanced; it depends. So, in the sound: energy, light. Each blood cell has thousands of different sounds. Can you imagine how many blood cells we have? How many systems we have? What big hurricanes we are? A very big hurricane. When a human dies, God goes into the whole universe, moving. And destiny says, "Go this side, go that side." There are some nice pictures, but I do not want to show you. So, out of all this, this light, energy, and sound originates. First of all, it guides our senses. The five karmendriyas and five jñānendriyas are very, very important for our existence. These five senses of jñānendriyas and five karmendriyas are connected to those sounds. The governor of these ten indriyas is the mind. The mind is also sound, light, and energy. So, when you begin to concentrate and practice Nāḍī Yoga, first you will come to different kinds of ten sounds. These sounds are from each indriya, each sense. Of course, there are sounds of the blood circulation; you hear like a waterfall, or you hear like the waves of the ocean when you go for the first time somewhere near the ocean and sleep at night. The ocean is about one kilometer away; you hear the sound of the waves. Or like a train, you hear the locomotive, you hear the waterfall, you hear the sound of the sea. This is all connected with our blood circulation. It is good; it is not bad. Then you begin to hear the sound of your heart, the pulse sound. Then you also hear the sound of your intestines, the functions, the liquid, the blood in the kidneys. It means now you begin your astral traveling within the body. It is beautiful; it is endless. You do not find the end, though the body is only this much. But when you dive within thyself, it is endless and beautiful. Sometimes terrifying, my God. Then, after, you come to the ten senses. When you come to the ten senses, it is like you enter into a kindergarten when they have the pause. So many different things: five senses of the desires and five senses of the knowledge. About this, you know. So you will hear now ten sounds. Now, somehow, your train is coming on the rail, and after these ten sounds comes the other sound. We will talk this evening about this. So, what I told you, you should listen carefully again. Make manana. For 45 minutes, you will have meditation with your mantra, without guidance. And whatever I told, whatever I spoke, repeat it again in your meditation while making your mantra.
