Welcome, all dear brothers and sisters, practitioners of Yoga in Daily Life, and also other yoga practitioners, spiritual seekers, and aspirants. It is a beautiful day. It is a Monday. Monday is the day of Lord Śiva. Also, Monday belongs to the moon, and very soon we will have a new moon. In two nights, it will be the dark night, Amāvasyā, on Thursday. This Amāvasyā is called a completely dark night. It means the sun and moon rise at the same time and set at the same time. The next day, the moon is a little behind, and sometimes it is visible. But on the second day, the new moon is always visible, except if there are clouds. To see the new moon brings good luck. In Christianity also, the new moon has great meaning—and in Hinduism, surely, not just in Christianity or Islam. This is that crescent moon, the new moon, which is shining on the head of Lord Śiva. So you see, how big is the head of Śiva? Very big. To see the new moon brings luck, prosperity, and happiness. It symbolizes completeness. Just as day by day the moon is growing, similarly, the aspirants' and practitioners' spirituality is increasing day by day. So the moon gives us a message to proceed gradually towards Pūrṇa, which is called the full moon, Pūrṇimā. There is a beautiful mantra: Oṁ Pūrṇamadaḥ Pūrṇamidaṁ Pūrṇāt Pūrṇamudacyate Pūrṇasya Pūrṇamādāya Pūrṇamevāvaśiṣyate. Everything, the entire universe and God, the Brahman, is Pūrṇa, complete. And what is created from the complete is also complete. It means your Ātmā. The baby of a tiger cannot be the baby of a mouse. A tiger baby is always a tiger baby. So the creator, the Brahman, and that Brahmā who created this planet and this part of the universe, created this from completeness. So Purāṇa, and what comes from Purāṇa is also Purāṇa. What you take out of the Purāṇa is also Purāṇa. And what remains, he says, is also Purāṇa. So, Lord, may You lead us towards the completeness, the fulfillment. The moon is a symbol of completeness. Pūrṇimā, on that day, brings a very special radiance to our planet. The entire consciousness is influenced. The ocean has strong or high waves. Ocean life is also restless. Wildlife is restless. Many cats are meowing, and many wolves are howling in the night—I can’t sleep. Different kinds of cats are nervous; they can’t sleep. Also, men are either very calm and happy or very aggressive and unhappy, restless. I knew someone; on a full moon day, he was walking on the roof of his house, and sometimes he had a gun. So on full moon days, one day before and one day after—three days—his wife was not at home. Then he goes for a walk. The moon is emotion. And it means everything is in motion. Each blood cell of every creature is in movement, feeling, and that’s why it’s called emotion. You are in motion. Sometimes the motion is very high, like high waves, and sometimes it’s pleasant. Therefore, you know, it is said in one song: "We are sailing on the stormy sea." Oh, my God. So this very strong energy is present on the new moon. And you will see after three days what the weather will do. According to the astrological calendar, the new moon should begin on Friday. This means the new moon, so people are fasting on the new moon to harmonize the energy. "Lord, bless me and guide me, protect me and take care of me. Day by day, my each and every step, every thought, every action, and each word leads toward Thee, O my Lord. You are the complete one." So, like the new moon increasing day by day until it becomes the full moon. The full moon day is another beautiful spiritual day. That day is another beautiful day for fasting and for having spiritual discourses. Read holy books, read about God, about spirituality, unity, love. In the morning, observe Brahmamūrta. On the full moon day, Brahmamūrta meditation for one hour covers the whole month’s meditation. In the morning, get up, wash yourself, perform pūjā, prayers, Guru Gītā, and chant your mantra. Avoid all kinds of aggressive activities. Also, avoid body contact with partners. Do not cut any trees or tree branches. Feed some hungry creatures, and eat and drink something very soft. Have light drinks and one meal in the evening, and keep a satsaṅg prayer. It will also grant you good health because the full moon has a big influence on our water element, tissues, and cells in the body. It is said that if on a full moon day you avoid too much eating and drinking, it can protect you from some diseases, like cancers and so on. So that day is very, very important. Amāvasyā is another beautiful day. Amāvasyā also has a big influence on our body and on our vegetation. Amāvasyā is also for fasting and for avoiding cutting trees, and so on. Amāvasyā is a day for the machinists, hand workers. That is once a month, Amāvasyā, so they do not work. A carpenter will not work with wood. Blacksmiths and goldsmiths will not work with gold or iron. A farmer will not cultivate the field, nor will he cut his crops. No one will cut the trees or shape the trees. Machines will not work. It is a day for prayers, for them, once a month. It is a dark day. Like in the Jewish religion, Saturday is a dark day. So this is about the new moon, the dark moon, which also has a very great influence on our planet, and we are not separate from the planet. If you can observe these two days strictly, then you have done great work for your body, for your mind, for your emotion, and for your spirituality. Also, on the days when the moon is dark, the moon eclipses—and also the sun—it has a negative influence on our planet, and that day is also very important to observe and fast and so on. After that, you should clean your whole flat or house, your curtains, your windows, your carpets... Purījī, Siddha Purījī... a guide for that. So, the new moon after Dhamma Uṣyā, the first or second day, the eleventh moon day or night and full moon night, then again the eleventh night and Dhammauṣya. And so there is the science of Śvara Yoga. Śvāsa means the flow of our different nāḍīs: Iḍā, Piṅgalā, and Suṣumṇā. That is called the science of these three forces in the body, and it is influenced by the moon period—when the sun is flowing, when the moon is flowing, and where the Suṣumnā is flowing. So let’s sing one bhajan about this. There is a very nice bhajan. Every bhajan is a very nice bhajan, but especially there is one bhajan which is on the body science and birth and life. Jai Jai. That’s Svara Yoga, which connects us with the moon and the sun: when to eat, when to drink, when to get up, when not to drink, when not to eat. And Svārśadāna, observing the flow of Iḍā and Piṅgalā. Then the Suṣumnā awakens, and you should have training so that every time you can change your śvara. This is a sādhanā. And if you do this sādhanā, then Mahāprabhujī said very clearly about Īśvara sādhanā. What happened? Therefore, the mantra: "Oṁ Pūrṇamadaḥ Pūrṇamidaṁ Pūrṇāt Pūrṇamudacyate, Pūrṇasya Pūrṇamādāya Pūrṇamevāvaśiṣyate." Every morning when you get up, it’s a beautiful mantra. And in the evening, before going to sleep, you say it again. You are in pūrṇa. You are in completeness. Our day begins with mantra and ends with mantra. Our sleep begins with mantra, our dream begins with mantra, and we wake up with mantra. It is that divine energy which protects us before going to sleep. In different cultures, in different religions, there are beautiful prayers. Maybe it’s only for one minute or half a minute. It doesn’t matter. It’s not the quantity, but the quality, that will protect us from bad dreams and from bad experiences. Therefore, Holy Gurujī said: Nita nita sapne me aap padharo, nita nita sapne me aap aur sab sapna nivrita kari jo, aur sab sapna nivrita karali jo. Shri Dipadayal Arjasuna, Prabhu Dipadayal Arjasuna, kar kirpamo sat saṅg di jo, kar sat saṅg di Shri Dipadayal Arjasuna. Śrī Dīp Nārāyaṇ Bhagavān Kī Nith Nith Sapne Mein Āp Paḍharo. Oh my Lord, every day, every night, please appear in my dreams. You come to my dreams, and all other dreams, please remove them. You know how many of you are suffering because of dreams? And how many of you are scared after a dream? And how restless you are because of your dreams, and how many dreams you dream which are not fulfilled, and how many dreams make you so sad, and how many dreams make you very happy. The dream is its own science. The dream is your reality. The dream is the reality of your desires, your anxieties, your longing, your relations—mother, father, brother, animals, birds. So, there is a dream and there is a mantra. You can direct your dream through the ajapa technique of mantra. We are only on the third level, half of the third level. We had likhit (writing), vekharī (chanting), upāṃśu (we did a little bit in the afternoon), then come mānasik and ajapā. Then, your dreams—you can steer your dreams, and with energy, with power, with prāṇa, your dreams can be beautiful. Tomorrow morning, 10 o’clock, 10 a.m. Strilky time, we will continue about the dream—sorry, about mantra. So today is the mantra: Deep Nārāyaṇ Bhagavān.
