Sangam - Merging Into Oneness
Satsang from Allahabad, India,
Khumb Mela 2013. Kumbha Mela
festival is organized after every
twelve years on the bank of river
Ganges in Prayag, Allahabad.
Triveni Sangam is the confluence
of three rivers. The point of
confluence is a sacred place for
Hindus. A bath here is said to
wash away all of one's sins and
free one from the cycle of rebirth.
It is that place where on a
particular constellation of planets,
the two physical rivers Ganges,
Yamuna, and the invisible or
mythic Saraswati river merges
into oneness. This festival is the
largest spiritual gathering all
around the world. It became a
tradition since Vedic time. It is
said, according to Hindu belief,
that having a bath in the river
Ganges while Kumbha Mela, one's
karmas are diminished because
it is also said, that during Kumbha
Mela, God appears to bless the
water of the river.
