Reading by Sadhvi Shree Priti
Priyamvada at Shree Guru Deep
Ashram Allahabad during Maha
Kumbh Mela. Samhita means a
compilation of knowledge, a
collection of Mantras or Hymns.
Garga Samhita belongs to the
post-vedic period and is one of
the rare texts teaching the
confidential science of pure
devotional service. It was
composed by Rishi Garga Muni
who lived at the time of Krsna's
appearance on earth and was
the family priest. Rishi Garga
Muni is one of the important 18
Saints of astrology. He was a
great authority in the knowledge
of astrology and performed the
name-giving ceremony for
Krsna and Balarama. Garga
Samhita is not only an astrology
based scripture , but also
describes the magical deeds of
Lord Krishna and gives the
detailed knowledge of Krishna's
Character.
