The great saint Sūrdāsjī said, "Prabhujī, mere avaguṇa chittana dharo." "Lord, please do not notice my mistakes." The great Sūrdās was a supremely great saint. For twenty-four hours he was immersed in love for God—praying, meditating, repeating His name, chanting His name. He lived a very pure, sāttvic, and simple life. You cannot imagine how divine he was. It is said that Śrī Kṛṣṇa Himself used to come and sit beside him to listen to his singing. And he was blind; 'Sūrdās' means a blind person. Now, can you imagine such a great soul? Still, he thinks that he makes mistakes. If we compare our own state with his spirituality, then we are not merely making some mistakes—we ourselves are a mistake. We are stuck in mistakes. Therefore, we should always pray. We are not praying because of God; we are praying because of ourselves. There are some people who say, "I don't believe in God." So what then? God does not lose anything. Whether you believe or do not believe is your own affair. No one is here with clean hands. Everyone makes mistakes, but God can forgive. He has no differences; He loves all equally. "My Lord, You are known as the equal-visioned one. If You want, You can liberate me." Any great saints in this world—their lives were full of devotion and prayers to God. If you see the life of Jesus, it was full of prayers.
