I invite Mrs. Aleksandra Zibelnik-Badi to light a candle and offer a prayer on behalf of the Bahá'í community. The founder of the Bahá'í Faith, Bahá'u'lláh, teaches that the followers of every religion must consult with one another in a spirit of love and fellowship. He states that all people should live in this world in that same spirit of love and friendship. This gathering today supports that teaching of Bahá'u'lláh. I would now like to share with you a prayer from the scriptures of Bahá'u'lláh and 'Abdu'l-Bahá. God bless you. "Enmity is now only the result of prejudice. There is one God. Humanity is one. The foundation of religion is one. We honor Him and praise Him for all His great prophets and messengers, who have revealed His light and glory. May the blessings of the Eternal One be with you all in their abundance, so that every soul, according to its measure, may receive from Him. For the last six thousand years, nations have hated each other. Now it is time to stop this. War must end. Let us be united and love one another, and await the result. We know that the effects of war are bad. Therefore, let us make a trial with peace. And if the results of peace are bad, we can decide that it is better to return to the old state of war. In any case, we will make this experience. If we see that humanity brings light, we will continue with it. We have walked on the left side for six thousand years, and now we are moving to the right. We have lived in darkness for many centuries, and now we are moving toward light. The gift of God to this enlightened age is the knowledge of the oneness of mankind and of the fundamental oneness of religion. War shall cease between nations, and by the will of God, the Most Great Peace shall come. The world will be seen as a new world, and all men will live as brothers. In the days of old, an instinct for warfare was developed in the struggle with wild animals. This is no longer necessary. Nay, rather, cooperation and mutual understanding are seen to produce the greatest welfare of mankind. Enmity is now the result of prejudice only. There is one God. Mankind is one. The foundations of religion are one. Let us worship Him and give praise for all His great prophets and messengers who have manifested His brightness and glory. May the blessing of the Eternal One be with you in all its richness, that each soul, according to its measure, may take freely from Him. During the last six thousand years, nations have hated one another. It is now time to stop."
