The Inner States: Jagrat, Svapna, Suṣupti, and Beyond
1:00 - 1:14 (14 min)
Recorded on
We explore the inner states of waking, dream, and deep sleep. Our activities with open eyes for the outer world constitute the waking state, Jagrat. In sleep, we are within ourselves. Deep sleep, Suṣupta, is a state of full awareness of the Self, offering comfort and peace. The dream state, Svapna, contains inner impressions, both good and bad. A constant alertness exists within and between these states. Sleep is a divine gift for turning inward toward the Ātmā. Beyond these is Yoga Nidrā, a higher sleep described by sages where practitioners are awake in the dark night, conscious of the Supreme. This understanding strengthens our spiritual practice. "From sunrise to sunset, we are Jagrat, and for that, God has given the light." "Deep sleep... means we are 100% aware about our Self, and so it is very comfortable, relaxed, and peaceful." The Light of Life and the Path to Liberation
1:15 - 2:08 (53 min)
Recorded on
The light of life is the light of God, and our purpose is to awaken and attain liberation. Human life is a rare and precious opportunity given by God. Our prime duty is to protect all creatures and live with mutual love and understanding. We are travelers in this world; we brought nothing and will take nothing material when we go. Do not waste this life on mere animalistic activities like eating and sleeping, or on gossip and doubt. Spirituality is purity of consciousness, thought, and behavior—tolerance, forgiveness, and love. Search for your own mistakes, not the faults of others. Develop divine qualities within yourself. You must awaken yourself; no one else can do it for you. While you can receive help, you must ultimately stand on your own feet. Dependency on others leads to suffering, but love is unconditional and liberating. God is within you; the highest realization is oneness, where the knower, knowledge, and object become one. Surrender to God, for only with Him can you find true happiness. "Know thyself. If you know yourself, you will know everything. If you do not know yourself, you know nothing." "Lord, I have surrendered my life to you, because only with you can I be happy, even if I have to walk through stones and a thorny path." Filming location: Umag, Croatia DVD 160a

The essential nature of reality is non-dual oneness, and the human imperative is spiritual awakening. We originate from the singular Brahman, without duality. The entire cosmos is one unified field, a truth echoed as 'one in all and all in one.' Our existence involves both a physical body and an eternal soul, or jīvātmā. The elements and energies interact in a divine play, yet the source is one. We cycle through ages, but the core truth remains. Consciousness has states: waking, dreaming, and deep sleep. The key is to be 'chet'—awake and aware—even within these states. At death, the soul departs alone; no material possession or relationship accompanies it. All wealth and property remain here. Therefore, one must use this human life for purification through prayer and meditation, and perform selfless acts for universal benefit, not just personal gain. True spiritual work involves purifying the body's energies as one would purify water, discarding impurities to reach a state of clear awareness. The ultimate aim is to realize "I am one only." "One into the one, so the whole space is one, and we are also only one." "At that time, the jīva goes alone. Sādhanī, nothing, nobody will go with us." Filming location: Strilky, Czech Republic

The essence of satsaṅg is the company of truth, which elevates consciousness, versus bad company, which leads to destruction. Satsaṅg means good company with those possessing spiritual knowledge, ethics, and positivity. Truth, or sat, is the unchanging reality of Brahman, while the changing world is temporary. The soul descends to Earth through elements like water to undergo past karma. Humans, distinct from creatures who only experience past karma, possess intellect and free will, creating new karma while facing their destiny. This destiny can only be altered by a true spiritual guide. Human life's purpose is to exhaust karma and attain liberation. Intellect requires education; the company and culture from childhood shape one's mentality and path. Good education is satsaṅg; negative influence is kusaṅga. Habits change with company, like a trained dog reverting among wild dogs. Temptation, like testing drugs, leads to addiction where the substance controls you. Development and destruction stem from the same root: the quality of your society. True friendship inspires truth and the best path. Ideal relationships are with parents, masters, or divine friends who wish you well. In satsaṅg, seek silence and positive thought. Make good resolutions, use your power to bless, and follow the path of forgiveness and ascent. "Sat means truth. That truth is what we call brahma satya, jagat mithyā." "Humans have the most powerful tool: intellect." Filming location: Slovenia
The konwledge of ancient yogis
14:25 - 15:32 (67 min)
Recorded on
The path of mantra leads to union with the eternal truth. Brahmalīna is becoming one with the eternal Brahma, the supreme, endless light. Purification is required, but we are bound by desires. A true saint, like an eagle taking only fresh prey or a diver seeking only pearls, absorbs pure sādhanā and God-consciousness. Through Gurudeva's blessing, even base consciousness can become Brahmā. Mantra perfection is a gradual path. First is Likhit, writing the mantra, such as the eternal sound Om. Next is constant vocal repetition. The third is Upāṃśu, where only the lips move. The fourth is Mānasika, mental repetition, though the mind is restless. The fifth is Ajapa, where the mantra becomes automatic within the body, leading to yogic consciousness and Brahmaloka. The disciple must stay in the boat of the Guru's instruction; to jump out is peril. Science is limited and breeds ego, while yoga's wisdom is eternal. Yoga is not a religion; it is the foundation, and all true religion is yoga. The Vedas are ancient, but our memory is now weakened by technology. Practice yoga sincerely for at least ninety minutes daily. There is no competition in yoga. "Through the blessing of Gurudeva and sādhanā, the crow becomes Brahmā. That is quality, that spirituality, that consciousness." "Yoga is not religion, but all religion is yoga." Filming location: Vép, Hungary

The divine self is beyond time and space, an everlasting light of knowledge. When a great being leaves the body, their existence does not cease. The relationship based on the physical form is temporary, but the conscious connection is eternal. We often seek a form to worship, yet the formless reality is equally present and responsive. True devotion creates unity, making separation impossible. The cosmic rhythm pulses through all existence, from the heart to the universe, and our spiritual practice aligns us with this vibration. Obstacles like anger, jealousy, and doubt disrupt this subtle connection. The pursuit of material wealth, especially money, destroys relationships and severs our resonance with the divine. The Guru is the remover of darkness. Steady devotion to the root, the Guru, nourishes the entire being. The divine incarnates as light, accessible through unwavering faith and practice, not through selfish requests. "Deep jyoti para brahma, deepam sarve moharaṇam." (This light is the supreme reality; this lamp removes all delusion.) "Everyone tries to help the one who is stronger... no one is a helper of the meek." Filming location: Vienna, Austria

The one soul is our origin and destination, and Śiva is its unmanifest source. There is one who was not born from mother or father; that self-manifested one is Śiva. From the endless sound of "Eko'haṁ bahusyām"—I am one, I will multiply—the creation unfolded. First came sound, then light, then air, water, and earth: the five elements. All life, movable and unmovable, emerged from these. We are all of one origin, one soul, like waves are of the ocean. This soul is within all beings and even within each cell of our body. It is genderless and unified. Our individual lives are like water droplets: evaporating, forming clouds, and returning as rain to the ocean of the one soul. Our karma influences this journey. The body is a kingdom of many lives, and the soul is its king. At death, the central soul departs, and the destiny of the smaller lives within follows it. We must care for creation, like water, which is life itself. Do not block its flow. The tongue has great power to bless or curse, to enjoy or bring disease. Master it. You are that Svayambhū. Realize your oneness through meditation. "Eko'haṁ bahusyām: I am one, and I will multiply." "Water is life, and life is water." Filming location: Vienna, Austria

Sūrya Namaskāra is a classical yoga practice integrating movement, cakra concentration, and mantra. It is best performed at sunrise or sunset, honoring the sun as a life-giving deity. The practice involves a precise sequence of twelve movements. Begin by standing with feet together, palms at the chest. Inhale, raise arms and arch back from the chest, focusing on the Viśuddhi cakra at the throat. Exhale, bend forward with a straight spine, then step one leg back. Lower the body, move into Bhujaṅgāsana, then push back up. Step the foot forward and return to standing. Quality is essential: avoid arching the lower back when bending backward, and keep the spine straight when folding forward to prevent injury. The practice purifies the body and mind. Daily practice makes one resilient like the sun, purifying one's atmosphere so negativity cannot take hold. We then layer concentration on specific cakras—Anāhata, Viśuddhi, Maṇipūra, Sahasrāra, Svādhiṣṭhāna—with each movement and breath. Finally, we integrate silent repetition of twelve solar mantras, such as "Oṃ Mitrāya Namaḥ," with the postures and cakra focus. This unified practice affects the physical body, the cakras, and consciousness. "It is said that daily morning practice of Sūrya Namaskāra makes your body and self like the sun." "Movement quality is crucial. In the first movement, avoid excessive arching in the lower back." Filming location: Zagreb, Croatia

The divine presence transcends physical form. The physical, saguṇa form is limited, while the nirguṇa form is limitless and accessible to all through the name and remembrance. When a great being merges with Brahman, their physical presence ends, but their divine essence remains. This essence is within everyone, but realizing it requires purification of the inner consciousness. Our tradition carries this blessing. The Guru's guidance is essential; rejecting it leads one astray. Personal experiences of this grace are profound but often indescribable. The disciple must be receptive to the master's shaping, like a sculptor with stone. Practice humility, follow the Guru's word, and reduce negative tendencies to progress. The divine presence is a constant support and multiplier of grace for the sincere devotee. "Greater than God Rāma is His name, which is even greater." "To be near him is like when it is very cold and we sit near a fire. The fire doesn't talk to us... but that warmth automatically comes to everyone." Filming location: Vienna, Austria
