The Interconnection of Yoga and Āyurveda: A Discourse on Mind, Body, and Soul
3:50 - 4:54 (64 min)
Recorded on
Yoga and Āyurveda are interconnected sciences for controlling the mind to achieve health and liberation. Yoga is the instrument to control the fluctuations of the mind. Āyurveda is the knowledge of life, comprising body, senses, mind, and soul. Maharṣi Caraka's philosophy states disease cannot occur without a distortion in the mind; therefore, controlling the mind is essential for health. The process for this is yoga. The soul is the conscious sovereign, while the mind is the active doer. To stop the mind, the soul must command it through techniques culminating in samādhi. The eightfold path of yoga begins with Yama and Niyama. One must control the guṇas, cultivating sāttvic feelings. Stabilizing the mind in the soul yields attainments and is the aim. From the Āyurvedic view, yoga requires a body. Even with a controlled mind, one experiences results of past actions, as unexperienced karma is not destroyed. Yoga's techniques to control mind and body are found within Āyurveda. By controlling duality through yoga and achieving samādhi, the cycle of birth and death ceases. "Yoga is an instrument to control your cittavṛtti—the fluctuations of the mind." "Ātmā sthe manasi sthire: when the mind is stable and controlled in the Ātmā. This is Yoga." The Divine Unity of Practice and Grace
5:35 - 6:53 (78 min)
Recorded on
The practice of yoga is a collective journey where individual effort merges with divine grace. We gather like passengers on one airplane or sailors in one boat, all moving together within the same spiritual aura. The core teaching is "Nāhaṁ kartā, Prabhuḥ kartā"—I am not the doer, the Divine is the doer. Our ashram functions as two universities: the worldly and the cosmic. True spiritual progress requires discerning the real from the unreal, just as a butterfly lands only on real flowers. Our practice must be sincere, not dry or artificial. Hold firmly to truth and complete devotion; do not speak in half-truths. Every letter and word we use carries divine potential and must be used with care. Spiritual attainment comes from unwavering dedication to truth and the Guru's guidance. "Whatever we do is not what we have done. Mahāprabhujī has done it. So nāhaṁ kartā—I am not the doer." "Without truth, you will not get mokṣa. Hold this... do not say half talks." Filming location: Strilky, Czech Republic

When I was a child
8:20 - 9:11 (51 min)
Recorded on
The path requires personal action and grace, not mere waiting. We strive to connect and become better, yet many wait for life to happen. True progress comes from engaging actively. A personal history illustrates this: a father's astrological prediction, a mother's concern, and encounters with spiritual guides led to a decisive journey. Running from school and meeting a teacher clarified the path. An invitation to teach yoga abroad began with a refusal to eat meat, establishing principles that attracted many. This work expanded across countries, forming communities and ashrams through consistent action and adherence to truth. The key is to take life into your own hands; sitting in a waiting room yields nothing. Engage in karma yoga, participate, and give of yourself. Through active doing, destiny unfolds. "My father said, 'This child has a high IQ.'" "If you want to learn math, you can't sit and talk, 'Math, please come to me.' You must take life in your own hands." Chanting divine mantras
13:05 - 13:38 (33 min)
Recorded on
The Guru is the supreme grace and the sole means to liberation. Without the Guru's grace, no being can cross the ocean of worldly existence. The Guru bestows self-knowledge, making one fearless. By listening to the Guru's verses, one attains all perfections and happiness. The Guru is the indestructible supreme reality, a boat of divine name carrying souls to the other shore. No one is a greater benefactor than the Guru. When a soul comes before the Guru, sins of countless ages are erased. Where the Guru's grace falls, no desire remains. Service to the Guru destroys all obstacles and reveals the light of the supreme self. One who serves the Guru is rare. The Guru's enemy is the worst; their work is never fulfilled. The Guru is Vishnu, the Guru is Shiva; the Guru is verily the supreme reality. The root of meditation is the Guru's form; the root of liberation is the Guru's grace. "Guru samāna dātā koī nahīṁ, rājā barṣa āśa karai." "Guruḥ śakṣāt parabrahma tasmai śrī gurave namaḥ." Filming location: Jadan, Rajasthan, India

Gurudev bring us to your shelter
15:55 - 16:27 (32 min)
Recorded on
The mantra is a prayer glorifying the Grandmaster and requesting his shelter. Oṁ is the universe's beginning, middle, and end. "Namaḥ" means "I offer respects," often sung as "namo." "Śrī" signifies respect. "Prabhu" means God. "Dīpa" means light. "Nārāyaṇa" is a name for God, specifically Viṣṇu. Thus, the first part greets the respected God, the light Nārāyaṇa. The second part is a request. "Hama saba" means "we all." "Dāsa" means servant. "Śaraṇa" means shelter, and "pārāyaṇa" means we come or are in that shelter. The full meaning is a greeting and a plea for protection. Additional lines praise him as the purest, the giver of great happiness, and the destroyer of all suffering. The highest happiness is self-realization, not fleeting pleasures. He is merciful and protects his devotees. Being a devotee is not blind following; it means practicing the teachings, like yoga in daily life. "Oṁ, greetings to the respected God, the light Nārāyaṇa. We are all servants of God; we take shelter in you." "He is so merciful that he helps us emerge from the mess we create with our countless desires." Filming location: Vienna, Austria

Never eat meat
17:40 - 17:59 (19 min)
Recorded on
A call for purity in yoga and life, centered on strict vegetarianism. Many have begun to eat meat, which is not good. This improper practice is now spreading from India through yoga. People from India go out to other countries and say it is acceptable to eat meat. This is wrong. In our countries, like Croatia and Czechoslovakia, and in your countries, many good people do not eat meat. I have worked hard with you on "Yoga in Daily Life." We must be strong and tell people what true yoga is: it involves not killing anything and not eating meat. Those who eat meat will face many body problems and cannot think clearly. We must all return to this pure practice with no meat. In marriage, make a vow to nurture your children and stay together. We must bring everyone back to this good way. "They also say that if they want, they can eat meat too. And that is not good." "People who eat meat, at a certain age... they cannot even speak. And many, many people cannot think anything. This is because of the meat." Filming location: Strilky, Czech Republic
Yoga, Faith, and Integration: A Personal Journey and Panel Discussion
18:00 - 19:04 (64 min)
Recorded on
Yoga is a faith-based practice for holistic wellness and integration with traditional systems. Yoga's power lies in belief and consciousness, not merely physical postures. A personal testimony describes overcoming a severe cancer diagnosis through disciplined mental reprogramming and yoga, refusing conventional treatment. The approach posits that conscious thought can influence cellular function and genetic expression. This demonstrates yoga's potential beyond physicality, aligning it with a spiritual understanding of health. Other traditional systems share this holistic view. Homeopathy treats the individual as a single mind-body entity, emphasizing mental origins of disease and cost-effective care. Ayurveda and Siddha medicine also focus on removing blockages to vital energy through detoxification and lifestyle, seeing disease as an imbalance of elements and mental stress. Integration of these drugless or minimal-medicine systems into mainstream healthcare is advocated for prevention and managing non-communicable diseases. The true purpose of yoga is considered the raising of human consciousness, with health benefits being a natural side effect. "Cancer is not a big thing in front of you; it is a tiny dot." "Homeopathy treats man as a single entity, not in spare parts." Filming location: Delhi, India
What does Yoga in Daily Life mean?
19:10 - 19:36 (26 min)
Recorded on
This is the day of oneness, the middle point in our sādhanā. We must practice every year and go forward, not back. Yoga in Daily Life began from Czechoslovakia and has spread worldwide; it is for all. Our sādhanā comes from Ālagpurījī and Devpurījī, through Holy Gurujī and Mahāprabhujī. Holy Gurujī gave me this chair, which is from God. Sitting here signifies oneness. We are to become gurus, but that happens only at life's end through true inner practice, not merely in time. I work with Mahāprabhujī. We are all together in this. The Nandi statue sees Holy Gurujī's samādhi and Śiva; offering to it brings blessings. We must continue every year. "All will be only one. It doesn't matter who, what will be. One in all, and all in one." "This chair is from God, Bhagavān... then you become the Parabrahma, Paramatmā." Filming location: Strilky, Czech Republic
A human should not kill
19:40 - 20:05 (25 min)
Recorded on
Evening satsang from Strilky Ashram, Czech Republic. Introduction of Mahamandaleshwar Swami Vivekpuriji. Yoga in Daily Life is a system for everyone. Yoga was brought by Bhagwan Shiva for people to reach God. Nowadays many people eat meat and do similar bad things. People should not kill. But you already know and follow this. You should not eat meat. Because of an illness I cannot find the words but I am with you and I am very happy that you are not negative. The bhajans are very important, they tell people what is good and what is not.
