Vishuddi Chakra and thyroid gland
1:20 - 1:38 (18 min)
Recorded on
Desire is a poison. In myth, gods and demons churned the ocean, producing a poison that threatened all creation. Śiva drank it but held it in his throat, which turned blue, earning him the name Nīlakaṇṭha. Similarly, we hold poison in our own throats. This is the psychological poison of swallowing harsh words—from a spouse, a boss, or colleagues—without retaliation. This suppression is linked to ailments like thyroid problems. The viśuddhi cakra at the throat is where this purification must occur. Its symbols include a strong elephant, representing the capacity to bear burdens, and Brahmā, the creator who holds the Vedas, representing wisdom. His consort Sarasvatī, with her sitar, represents the purifying power of sound. The chakras contain mantras in their petals, corresponding to the Sanskrit alphabet. The journey upward is careful; the Ājñā Chakra is the border between human and divine. These are symbols for an inner process. Understanding and purifying the five bodies—physical, mental, energetic, wisdom, and bliss—is essential. Do not get lost in contradictory advice from different teachers. You must practice to achieve. "Śiva said, 'For the sake of all vegetation, and other creatures and humans, I will drink the poison.'" "If you can clean this problem, then it is wisdom. If not, then you are again gone down." The Practice of Śalabhāsana and Complementary Āsanas
2:04 - 3:03 (59 min)
Recorded on
We practice śalabhāsana and complementary āsanas to strengthen the body and influence consciousness. Śalabhāsana is performed with legs joined and arms stretched overhead, lifting both simultaneously. Hold with full lungs and descend on the exhalation, though breathe naturally if you have high blood pressure or ocular pressure. It strengthens the posterior muscles, benefits the prostate, and aids women with painful menstruation. A hands-under-body variation stretches the digestive tract and helps kyphosis. Always bend from the thoracic spine, not the lumbar. Follow with relaxation in ānandāsana and pavanamuktāsana to release lower back tension. This backward bend builds self-confidence and vitality. Sarvāṅgāsana improves peripheral circulation and balances thyroid function, but avoid it with hyperthyroidism, high blood pressure, or during menstruation. Its counterpose, bhuḍaṅgāsana, stretches the front body and corrects slouching by bending from the chest. Halāsana stretches the back and affects the neck, emphasizing exhalation. Its counterpose, matsyāsana, opens the chest and benefits breathing; it uses inhalation through the nose and exhalation through the mouth. A one-legged balance pose improves concentration and leg strength. Ardha matsyendrāsana regenerates the spine and has anti-inflammatory effects. An inverted posture, mistakenly called vṛkṣāsana, benefits circulation to the head and spiritual development. Conclude with tāḍāsana and bhastrikā prāṇāyāma, which acts like bellows to intensify digestive fire and burn impurities. Do not practice bhastrikā with a brain tumor or fever. Chant Oṁ to create a protective sheath before meditation. "Śalabhāsana, being a backward bend that requires strong muscles, works very well on our self-confidence." "In this posture, simply allow one subtle, extended exhalation." Filming location: Zagreb, Croatia
The path of happiness
3:05 - 3:58 (53 min)
Recorded on
The soul's journey is defined by two paths: Patan, leading to distraction and unhappiness, and Uthāna, leading to development and self-realization. Time is a human construct; the soul's purpose is cosmic union through inner purification. While physical needs can be met externally, lasting happiness and solutions to deeper problems must come from within. Yoga is the inner science for this achievement. Self-realization cannot be given by an external master, only guided toward. From a single origin, like one seed or one set of parents, destinies diverge based on karma and saṃskāra. Although destiny is powerful, it can be influenced by turning to good company, or satsaṅg, and through inner work. A true Guru can help alter one's path. The company you keep determines your color; satsaṅg leads upward, while kuśaṅg leads to degradation. "Your master cannot give you self-realization from outside. He’s giving you some ideas, some techniques, some good words, or it can turn yourself to that path which will lead you to your destination." "If you go and control thyself, and you go within, inner, then you can change your destiny." Filming location: Jadan, Rajasthan, India
Bhagwan Shiva in Fiji
4:00 - 4:14 (14 min)
Recorded on
This sacred island is the ancient abode of Bhagavān Śiva, his consort Pārvatī, and Nandī. A mountain here holds the complete form of the Divine Mother, visible from the airport. At its peak is a pure lake, like Mānasarovara, from which flows water bottled and sold globally as Fiji Water. Upon a large rock near this lake is the Swayambhū footprint of Lord Sadāśiva. On another part of the island, in Lambasa, a sacred black stone representing a śāstra nāga grew despite attempts to contain it, leading to the construction of the Nāg Mandir. This land is uniquely blessed, free from dangerous animals and abundant with food and water year-round, a protection linked to its sacred geography. "At the peak of that mountain, there is a beautiful lake, akin to Mānasarovara near Kailāśa mountain. The water of that lake is utterly pure, without pollution." "Fiji is the only country in the world without any dangerous animals, reptiles, or spiders. You can sleep anywhere outside without worry." Filming location: Fiji Islands
Build your intellect supportive
4:15 - 5:31 (76 min)
Recorded on
A clear aim is essential for spiritual progress, and a lack of clarity allows destructive influences to spoil your practice. Your intellect disturbs you because your desire is not intense enough and your aim is not concrete. Without a clear goal, you are easily diverted by possibilities, like changing your destination based on radio advertisements. A definitive aim, like reaching a wedding, eliminates such distractions. Practical spiritual experience, not just theory, provides this unshakable clarity. Your intellect then becomes a helper, not an obstacle. You must avoid negative discussions, books, and societies that act like viruses in your consciousness. The human intellect is sensitive and can be steered by gossip and wrong impressions, which create negative mental patterns. These negative influences are like lemon in milk; they spoil your spiritual practice, which is built through sādhanā, mantras, and positive living. Once spoiled, this spiritual "milk" is nearly impossible to restore. Jealousy is a primary destructive force, a karmic illness manifesting in personal, spiritual, and even economic realms. It fuels the spreading of negative rumors, a modern weapon. The story of Nārada illustrates how jealousy and gossip can create doubt and sever even divine relationships, requiring great effort to mend. Therefore, be humble, avoid negative company, and protect your spiritual progress by guarding your thoughts and words. "Your aim should be clear. Nothing can change me. The sun and moon can change their direction, but I will not change my direction." "One stupid thought, one stupid person can destroy all your spiritual sādhanā, which you made years and years long with great confidence and with great love." Filming location: Vép, Hungary DVD 180a

Kundalini, chakras, and consciousness
7:10 - 8:11 (61 min)
Recorded on
We explore the soul, chakras, and the oneness of consciousness. Every creature has chakras and an effect on nature. Our skin is a vital protective layer connected to these energy centers. Misusing chemicals on our skin or harming animals creates negative karmic effects. The individual soul, or jīva, is like a drop of water. All drops originate from and return to the one ocean, which is the universal soul or paramātmā. Our bodies are mostly water, circulating like rivers seeking the ocean. The chakras are round energy centers, like the symbol of the sun. All major religions point to the same divine principle, often expressed through sacred sound like Oṃ. Our nervous system contains thousands of channels connecting these centers. Kundalini awakening is the conscious vibration of energy through every gland in the body, not a physical ascent. You already possess this divine consciousness. Realization comes from understanding you are part of the one ocean, not a separate drop. "All this living jīva is only one. We are all one, but we are separated." "Everything begins with sound. In the beginning, there was sound." Filming location: Garrison, NY, USA
Purify your body from poison
8:15 - 9:29 (74 min)
Recorded on
Our subject is the Kuṇḍalinī, the chakras, and human life. Happiness is within ourselves. Unhappiness comes from outside, from disappointment, but it also resides within. Like a shadow, death walks beside us always. Unspoken grievances become a poison stored in the body, specifically in the Viśuddhi chakra. A couple suffered for fifty years because she never told him she wanted the hard crust of the bread. Swallowing negative words creates this poison, affecting health. The mythological poison from churning the ocean was drunk and held by Śiva in his throat. Similarly, we must purify our inner poison through communication, forgiveness, and practice. Do not blame others. Speak humbly: say you are sorry and ask for forgiveness. Practice prāṇāyāma, like Ujjāyī, to cleanse this energy. What we eat creates impurities; a vegetarian diet is purer. Swallowed negativity can manifest as illness. Purify your consciousness through sādhanā, prayer, and mantra. Release negativity and proceed on a positive path. "Unhappiness and happiness are within ourselves also. But if we use yoga, then this unhappiness will, all the time, be pushed down." "Viś means poison. Viśuddhi means purification. How to purify this poison of our negative thinking, negative hearing, that all this is unhappiness and everything is within us." Filming location: Garrison, NY, USA
How universe reflects in the human body
9:35 - 10:56 (81 min)
Recorded on
Health is the foundation for spiritual progress, beginning with the body's energy centers. We activate energy through the foot soles, which are crucial roots needing good energy. Walking barefoot on earth for a few minutes daily draws direct energy into the body. For urban living, create a gravel bed at home to walk on; this greatly benefits the organs, especially the thyroid and heart. The first chakra level is from the soles to the ankles. Practices like Tāḍāsana affect eyesight, ears, and throat. Observing the new moon with silver metal can energize eyesight. The full moon significantly affects all life. The horizon represents the endless Anāhata. Our countless chakras include earth, vegetation, and animal levels, relating to different consciousness states. Śiva is the self-manifested source, from whose resonance came sound, then light and the other elements. The Ājñā Cakra symbolizes the union of male and female energies. The soul is one, beyond gender. The mother is revered first as divine. Chakras are symbolized by lotuses; Brahmā sits on one. Śiva instructed Viṣṇu to provide a lotus seat for Brahmā, the creator. Proper use of spices in daily nourishment is essential for health and preventing disease, not just physical exercise. "These chakras of the body—we have so many centers we can call chakras." "Health will depend on your nourishment, your food." Filming location: Garrison, NY, USA

The reflection of the Self
13:40 - 14:52 (72 min)
Recorded on
The light of the Self is realized through grace and alert practice. Time is a human construct; only the Supreme is unchanging. We are bound in saṃsāra, coming and going due to karma. The body is a temporary bag discarded at death, but the soul remains. Do not depend on others for your spiritual work; you must eat the food yourself. Holy books and teachings are like injections of wisdom to awaken us. Practice sādhanā and ātmācintan—thinking deeply on the Self. This reflection, or 'chilka', of consciousness is glimpsed through repetition like in bhajan. Remain alert and awakened, using tools like the mālā to maintain this awareness. The five sheaths of the body are temporary; you are not these layers. The soul is one in all. Do not become overly attached to worldly life and sorrow. The work is to realize and spread this inner light. "Guru Kripa Hi Kevalam." "Don't depend on someone to do it for you." Filming location: Vép, Hungary
Practicing of the system 'Yoga in Daily Life', Level 1 - Part 3
15:00 - 15:53 (53 min)
Recorded on
We continue our morning yoga practice from the Yoga in Daily Life system. Sit and chant Oṁ to purify the atmosphere. Lie down in the relaxation posture and become aware of your entire body. Systematically relax each part from the right foot upward, using exhalation to release tension. Feel each area soften. Direct your consciousness through the trunk, chest, and right hand, then relax the left side, throat, and face. Observe the natural breath entering and leaving the lungs. We begin breath techniques. Practice the three components of the full yoga breath separately. First, place a hand on your belly for abdominal breathing, feeling the diaphragm move. This reduces stress. Next, place hands on the chest for chest breathing, feeling the ribs expand. Then, place fingers on the collarbones for clavicular breathing. Finally, combine them into a single, wave-like breath: inhale from belly to chest to collarbones, then exhale in reverse. Begin physical practice with breath-coordinated arm raises. Incorporate stretching by raising one arm and stretching the side, then both arms for diagonal stretches. Practice a full-body stretch, noting the contrast between tension and relaxation. Roll the body side to side like a solid piece of wood. Perform Pavanamuktāsana by drawing the forehead to the raised knee, experimenting with head placement to feel different stretches. Practice Navāsana, the Boat pose, rocking side to side. From sitting, clasp hands behind the head for side bends to strengthen the back. Perform conscious hand and wrist exercises. Work the legs with a forward bend from a seated position. Stand for the final practices. Raise and lower arms with control. Pull one knee to the chest while standing to aid digestion and balance. Perform a full-body stretch, rising onto the toes. Conclude with relaxation. Lie down and compare your sensations to the start of practice. Sit for Prāṇāyāma.
How could Tulsidas see Rama?
16:00 - 17:08 (68 min)
Recorded on
The soul is caught in the mortal body, and we do not truly know it. Many believe existence ends with the body or that one merges into light after death. Others seek heaven or liberation. Theory is not enough; personal experience is required. The story of the bandit Vālmīki shows that even a great sinner can be transformed through a mantra and sincere repentance, becoming a sage who writes scripture. The story of Tulsīdās illustrates that divine vision requires alertness; God may appear, but one must be aware to see. The human body is a temple, a Garbhagṛha where the soul resides, and must be respected and kept pure. Do not defile it. The goal is to realize the blissful self within. "Does it exist, or does it not? Is this whole game only within this body?" "Therefore, we have to understand what human body God has given us. And that is within us, but we cannot see it." What is the most precious thing in life?
17:15 - 18:10 (55 min)
Recorded on
The most precious thing in life is good health, which yoga provides as a gift from Svayaṁbhū Śiva. This primordial consciousness, unborn and without parents, manifested all creation from the single thought, "I am one, and I will multiply." This manifestation is Sanātana Dharma—the eternal principle of oneness in all existence, not a religion. Humans have lost this spirituality, creating separate religions instead. True religion is to realize your relation to God, leading to Self-Realization where the individual soul and God are one. Life's quality depends on aligning with the positive, divine power (Devī Śakti) of love and non-violence, not the negative (Āsurī Śakti) of harm. In the current Kali Yuga, suffering prevails as humans become selfish, governed by material desire like gold. The only solution is to renounce attachment and thereby enjoy true freedom and enter the kingdom of God. "Realize your relation to God is the religion." "Renounce and enjoy."
