Lecture with Vishwaguruji
0:10 - 1:19 (69 min)
Recorded on
The path of yoga is for self-realization, which is not easily attained. The true Self, Ātmā, is one with the highest reality and is untouched by karma. The soul, or Jīvātmā, is bound by the wheel of action and reaction. Human birth grants the intellect and freedom to perform new karma through thought and deed. Most physical exercise called yoga is not Haṭha Yoga, which consists of six specific cleansing techniques. Yoga is the unifying energy between infinite space and consciousness. Practice must be holistic, harmonizing body, mind, and soul through correct exercise, breath, meditation, and mantra. Positive thoughts, sattvic food, and good company cleanse karma. The goal is to free the soul from cycles of rebirth. "Ātmā is the Self, our true Self. Ātmā is one with God; as ātmā, we are all one." "Yoga in daily life is the harmony of body, mind, and soul." A Message of Peace from Prague
3:00 - 3:07 (7 min)
Recorded on
The key to our future is universal unity and peace. I witnessed this spirit in a crowded square where people of all languages smiled together, a vision for our world. Achieving this requires not just public desire but political will. Prague has a historical legacy of promoting peace, from medieval delegations to modern nuclear agreements. Our world faces civil wars, climate change, and threats from weapons and terrorism. I work with parliamentary networks seeking pledges from nations to not be first to use and to reduce nuclear arsenals, aiming to lower global risk. Support these efforts. True peace begins within each person. "There is only one God, the universal God, only one religion, humanity, and only one nation, humankind." "Peace among nations is dependent on peace in human beings." Filming location: Prague, Czech Republic
The Means Are the End: On Non-Violence, Patience, and Peace
3:15 - 3:29 (14 min)
Recorded on
The means are the end; the purity of the instrument determines the outcome. Life initially teaches non-violence through powerlessness, when a violent response is impossible. Yet true understanding comes with maturity. Society focuses on ends, neglecting means. This creates fundamental questions: can war bring peace or violence bring justice? The answer is no. Wrong means always yield wrong ends, for the means become the end. A seed becomes the tree. Hatred breeds hatred; violence breeds violence. Only non-violence, born from compassion, breeds compassion. Some claim wrong means bring wealth and power, while right means bring struggle. But happiness is a peaceful mind. Those using right means possess this peace and live in the present. Those using wrong means have disturbed minds, living in past or future. To follow non-violence requires immense patience and faith. It is a slow, complete cure like Ayurveda, healing from within like yoga. "There are countless reasons for which I can give my life, but for no reason can I kill a person." "Happiness is a peaceful state of mind." Filming location: Prague, Czech Republic

Yoga is the highest system of thought for human evolution, uniting body, mind, and spirit. It is a global people's movement, not confined to physical exercise. International Yoga Day on June 21, established through a UN resolution proposed by India's Prime Minister, is celebrated worldwide. The practice aims for health, peace, and harmony by connecting the individual with the self, society, and nature. Its core principles include discipline, non-greed, and selfless service. Authentic teaching requires proper training over years, not quick certifications. While health attracts many, the complete science refines lifestyle and limits consumption for environmental well-being. Yoga is one, though various interpretations exist. Its essence cannot be diluted, and it should not be commercialized. "Yoga is the science of human origin and evolution to a point where you can overcome the boundaries of space and time." "Yoga leads humans to become good persons, makes a good family, a good society, and a better way of living, and to bring the world peace, harmony, and unity." Filming location: India

We all should get oneness
4:50 - 5:06 (16 min)
Recorded on
The language of oneness transcends spoken words. Many scriptures and languages exist, yet spirituality reveals a universal oneness. We learn through gaze and feeling, not just vocabulary. The best language is understood by all, like music or song, where sound vibration creates unity. We do not know God's name or voice, but in our heart, all humans know there is some God. Even saying "no God" speaks to that understanding. Language is only the outer side; the feeling is the true language. When words fail, we understand through hands, eyes, and silence. From life's mixture, we seek purity and oneness. In a hall, a little stone can represent the silence that unites us. This silentness is oneness. In contrast, a noisy festival is different. You are happy and need nothing. "The best language is when people from many countries, each with their own language, suddenly all understand." "In our heart, all humans know there is some God." As you do, you will get
11:05 - 11:59 (54 min)
Recorded on
The importance of food, Agni, and sāttvic living is foundational. Learning to cook from a young age is essential, not just for health but for the energy imparted to the food. A story illustrates the need for strong digestive fire, or Agni, like a Yogī who dissolved a Rākṣasa from within. This fire digests not only food but also information and experiences. Cultivate Agni through Haṭha Yoga Kriyās, āsanas for the Maṇipūra Chakra, and preparatory prāṇāyāma like Nāḍī Śodhana before advanced techniques such as Bhastrikā. A vegetarian diet is crucial; consuming meat introduces the animal's fear and chemistry into one's own body, affecting the mind and causing negative experiences during spiritual practice. The system of Yoga in Daily Life avoids this by progressing step-by-step with sāttvic food. The energy and intention behind cooking matter deeply, as food carries the cook's state. Therefore, cook for yourself with awareness. Practice deeply within the framework of the five bodies, moving from the physical to the blissful, without seeking external changes. Karmic law is precise: actions return accordingly, as shown in a story where poisoned food meant for a sādhu instead killed the poisoner's own children. Human anatomy, with side-to-side jaw movement and a long digestive tract, indicates a natural design for vegetarianism. The consciousness of the one who provides food also impacts the eater, as a thief's intention indirectly influenced a Guru's behavior. Always cook and eat with a pure, sāttvic intention. "Remain where you are." "What you do will come back to you." Filming location: Strilky, Czech Republic

Practice Pavanamuktāsana on your back for digestion, then in a standing position for balance and focus. Maintain spinal alignment and initiate movements from the hip joints. Be aware of your pelvis and avoid locking the knees. Standing poses like Ekapāda Uttānāsana strengthen the legs and improve concentration. Practice with a firm surface for better balance. Āsanas like Bhujaṅgāsana require elbows close to the body to protect the shoulders. Deep, abdominal breathing cleans the inner channels, allowing prāṇa to flow. The practice generates warmth, deepens circulation, and integrates body and mind through conscious movement and breath control. "Pavanamuktāsana is excellent for digestion." "When we start to breathe a little deeper, we immediately have more energy and less tension." Filming location: Strilky, Czech Republic
The Presence of the Guru
17:15 - 17:58 (43 min)
Recorded on
The Guru is omnipresent, and our practice is to recognize and honor this presence. He is always observing and is within us. His physical presence is a blessing, but his true nature is everywhere. We must cultivate love and devotion, which together allow our spiritual connection to grow. Serving him and being in his company is the primary practice, as it reduces the ego. We must learn to surrender completely, trusting him without relying on our own logic. He tests our faith, and those who trust him completely will find all obstacles removed. Approach him not with trivial questions but to seek blessings for your sincere endeavors. His guidance may come in many forms, all of which are for our benefit. Ultimately, we must believe he is the sole doer, and we are instruments in his divine play. "When you close your eyes, or when you even open your eyes, you can see his form sitting here. We should not think that Gurudev is physically not here, but Gurudev is omnipresent." "If we have that mindset within us, then nothing is going to stop us in this world, and we just need to continue this beautiful, beautiful legacy what Gurudev has created and just know that he is inside, and he is always with us." Your body is the map of your destiny
20:55 - 21:40 (45 min)
Recorded on
Destiny is a fixed map written upon the body, yet it can be altered by grace and spiritual practice. Your janma-bhūmi, karma-bhūmi, and dharma-bhūmi are predetermined by past karmas. A story illustrates that written destiny cannot be avoided by human effort alone; attempts to circumvent it often fulfill it. Whether you believe in it or not, you must go through your karma. This destiny is physically mapped on your forehead, palms, and fingers, with unique lines indicating your path. However, religion alone cannot change this destiny; it is a path for self-inquiry. True change comes from sādhanā and, crucially, the grace of the guru. The guru acts as a divine navigator; following the guru's instruction can redirect your path from a negative destiny toward liberation. When the soul leaves the body, this physical map becomes invalid, and a new destiny is formed based on your spiritual progress. Ultimately, the choice is between following animal instincts or human culture guided by wisdom. "Destiny is written; it cannot be changed." "O Uddhava, the line of karma is unique, unique. The line which is already made, the plan already designed—there is a line on that plan, and you have to walk on that plane, on that line." Filming location: San Francisco, USA

The Principles and Power of Sādhanā
22:35 - 23:20 (45 min)
Recorded on
Sādhanā requires perfect technique and discipline, following principles like a car needing correct fuel. This human system requires spiritual nourishment. The Maṇipūra Chakra is central; the body's manifestation begins there, and it is where the soul enters and prāṇa and apāna unite. It houses the hara-śakti, the life force governing immunity. A weak hara-śakti causes fatigue; the Khaṭupranām exercise strengthens it. Sound originates in the Maṇipūra Chakra, with levels from parā (navel) to vaikharī (lips). Chanting Aum in Śabda Sañjālan practice awakens this sound, rising to the Sahasrāra and flowing back to the heart, uniting the nāḍīs at the Ājñā Chakra. This confluence, Trikuṭī, purifies karma. Success requires disciplined practice, devotion, and following a true spiritual lineage. Without devotion and discipline, balance is lost and practice fails. With sincere sādhanā, inner awakening and freedom are attained. "Only the maṇipūra chakra can control the two forces, prāṇa and apāna." "Without bhakti, without devotion, you cannot cross this ocean of ignorance." Filming location: Strilky, Czech Republic
Ayurveda - The science of life
23:25 - 1:11 (106 min)
Recorded on
Ayurveda is a comprehensive science of life, not a single topic. Its origin is mythological, said to come from the creator Brahmā through divine beings like Dhanvantari before passing to human sages. The knowledge was compiled into key texts like the Caraka Saṃhitā for medicine and Suśruta Saṃhitā for surgery. Much literature was later destroyed, but oral tradition in Sanskrit aided its restoration. The scope of Ayurveda is dual: to maintain the health of the healthy and to cure the sick. It aims for a flexible body, satisfied mind, and happy life until the end. "The extent of Ayurveda, or the part of Ayurveda, is to maintain the health of healthy people and to cure those who are afflicted with diseases." "Ayurveda is a science that deals with the useful and the harmful, the happy and unhappy life." Filming location: Prague, Czech Republic
