Practicing Khatu Pranam

|
From: 30 Jun 2015
The practice of Khatu Pranam integrates physical postures with holistic well-being. The blissful posture, Ananda Asana, is for relaxation without fear. Research into posture names reveals their origins in nature. The sequence draws inspiration from a place known for its colorful, cool stones and an atmosphere of communal harmony. This practice was developed and refined over decades. Specific postures strengthen the back and abdominal muscles and improve circulation. The practice benefits the respiratory system and enhances immunity by affecting the relevant energy channel. Regular practice reduces muscular stiffness and promotes a stress-free life. It harmonizes body, mind, and intellect, leading to greater self-awareness and peace. Consistent personal experimentation with the sequence is encouraged to observe its comprehensive effects.
"Ānanda means bliss. Ānanda means happiness. Ānanda means pleasure. Ānanda means without tension."
"Kaṭhūpraṇām has a very positive effect on the body. Physical, mental, social, and spiritual, which bring calmness and peace."

The heart is central to spiritual development and the awakening of divine joy through Kundalini.
Destiny is the fruit of karma; every situation has meaning. Face destiny to be free from it. The heart feels everything quicker than the intellect. A divine light resides within it, the light of the Ātmā. Every creature with a heart carries God's manifestation. Negative energy produces desires and fear, while desirelessness brings true happiness and richness. This body is a wondrous creation where God resides and speaks. No heart is empty of the divine presence. Harsh words wound the heart, and only love and mantra can heal it. When Kundalini awakens and touches the heart, it overflows with devotion and happiness, leading to bhāva samādhi. This state is the highest joy and a healing process for the body. Understanding the meaning of words in prayer or song allows them to penetrate the consciousness and induce this samādhi. Sound, light, and energy from mantras have a healing effect, traveling through the nāḍīs to awaken divine love.
"When there is a problem, everyone remembers God."
"The happiest and richest person is one who has no desires, neither physically nor materially."

A journey within begins by relaxing the body and observing the breath. Contemplate the five elements within. Space exists inside and outside; feel at ease within it. Air, or prāṇa, purifies the body and can remove illness with concentrated will. Inner fire, or agni, balances temperature and burns away toxins. The water element flows through tissues, supplying minerals and expelling impurities. The earth element, the bones, provides a frame. These elements within can become polluted by the external world. Purify them through sāttvic food, yoga postures, prāṇāyāma, and meditation. Body awareness is life awareness; health depends on clean, balanced elements. Bring awareness to any area of pain or illness. Direct breath and the elements—air, fire, space, water—to that area to balance and heal. This self-inquiry meditation can be done seated. Many bodily problems stem from personal mistakes like wrong diet or substances, but they can be repaired through yoga, meditation, and a balanced diet. Make a resolve to heal the body and mind through these elements and practices. Love and protect nature. Decide for a healthy, strong body and a long life.
"Body awareness means life awareness. The body is here, you are here."
"Strive to purify with sāttvic food... Pure quality gives more quality to your life."
