Fullmoon satsang on Holi with bhajans

The festival of Holi reveals the supremacy of the Guru’s grace and the victory of devotion over evil.

The Guru is the superpower in the material world. No act should be performed without the Guru’s permission. If the Guru wishes to act, everything is attained. Holy Guruji alone is sufficient. The dust of the Guru’s lotus feet is fragrant and full of sweet love. The dust of the Guru’s feet grants the four fruits: Artha, Dharma, Kama, and Moksha. Holi commemorates the Satyuga when divine powers challenged demonic forces. The demon king Hiranyakashipu ordered his sister Holika to burn his son Prahlad. Holika possessed a boon of immunity to fire. She took Prahlad into the fire, but he was saved by Lord Vishnu’s grace, and Holika burned to ashes. Later, Lord Vishnu tore Hiranyakashipu apart. The festival marks the victory of good over evil. Holi also begins the harvest season; new corn is roasted and shared. On the night before Holi, a bonfire is lit, and women offer prayers and sweets. On Holi day, people smear ashes and play with colors, splashing colored water. True following means taking teachings into the heart, for human birth is for sadhana.

Satguru Swāmījī Madhavānandajī Bhagavān Kī Jaya. Devādhī Deva Deveśvara Mahādeva Kī Jaya. Harādhī Bhagavān Śrī Dīp Nārāyaṇa Mahāprabhujī Kī Jaya. Satguru Swāmījī Madhavānandajī Bhagavān Kī Jaya. Mātā Pitā Gurudeva Kī Jaya. Satya Sanātana Dharma Kī Jaya. Oṁ Śāntiḥ Śāntiḥ... Now, let us begin with bhajans today. Please. How many did you do? Two. Two is not enough. Come on. You are not in a hurry. Today there are mostly very good bhajans, very good for today—the day of the holy festival. Yes. Śrī Dīp Nārāyaṇa. Anything you do is good. Sunday show, very good, very good. Dobriye. Prashim. Rikli rikli. Atak. Yes. Maṅgalmaṇī is after. One, you can sing now, this, and then we’ll come to gulab. And then you, okay? Yes. Final. You know, the final thing is that which is the best. We shall put off the... Oh, my God. All my bhajans are destroyed. No problem. Come on. Deep Nārāyaṇa Bhagavān. Bhagavān Nākī Che. Devājī Dev, Devpurī Samādhi. Mahādeva Kī Jai, Alakhpurījī Mahādeva Kī Jai. Satguru Swāmī Madhavānandajī Bhagavān Kī Jai. Devadhī, Dev, Deveśvar, Mahādevakī, Satguru, Svāmī, Madhavānandjī, Bhagavānakī, Alakhpurījī, Mahādevakī, Mātāpitā, Gurudevakī, Satyasanātan, Dharmakī, Oṁ Śānti, Śānti, ... Oṁ Śānti, Oṁ Śānti, Śānti, Oṁ Śānti, Oṁ... Śānti Śrī Dīp Nārāyaṇ Bhagavān Kī Jai. There may be any superpower in the eternal world, but the fact remains: the superpower of the material world is Gurudeva. Therefore, we should not perform any act without the permission of Gurudeva. If Gurujī wishes to act for you, you can attain everything. Thus, Gurujī alone is enough—only the Holy Gurujī is the superpower. Goswāmī Tulsī Dās Jī says this before the composition of the Rāmcaritmānas: Bandam Guru Pada Paduma Parāga, Suruchi Suvāsa Sarasa Anurāga. I bow to the pollen of the Guru’s lotus feet, which is delightful, fragrant, and full of sweet love. I am praying to Gurujī because the Caraṇa Rāja of Gurujī is sufficient for everything. The Caraṇa of Gurujī is suvāsa—that is, the fragrance of the dust of those sacred feet is supremely beautiful. And if we receive the Caraṇa Raja of Gurujī, we receive everything. Gurujī also states in the Hanumān Chālīsā: Varṇau Raghvar Vimal Jasu, Jodayak Phal Chāru. The Caraṇa Rāja of Gurujī grants us four kinds of fruits. Jodāyak Phal Cāru Caraṇ Rāj Four types of fruits—four kinds of rewards we gain in the spiritual world. Artha, Dharma, Kāma, and Mokṣa—everything becomes possible through the Caraṇa Raja of Gurudeva. And so, in this bhajan book, the Mahimā of Gurujī has been sung. I will try to sing it as well: Śrī Dīp Nārāyaṇa Bhagavān Kī Jaya, Devpurīṣa Mahādeva Kī Jaya. Hindu Dharma Samrāṭ, Satguru Swāmī, Śrī Mādhavānandjī, Guru Dev, Kī Jaya. Parampūjya Niyāī, Śrī Śrī 1008, Viśvaguru Swāmī, Maheśvarānandajī, Purījī, Mahārāj, Kī Jaya. Dev Purīṣa Mahādeva Kī Jaya. Hindu Dharma Samrāṭ Satguru Svāmī Śrī Madhavānandajī Gurudeva Kī Jaya. Param Pūjyanī Śrī Śrī 1008 Viśvaguru Bhāmaṇḍaleśvara Param Haṃsavāmī Śrī Maheśvarānandajī Purījī Mahārāja Kī Jaya. Hari Om Śrī Deveśvara Mahādeva, Om Soham Śrī Deveśvara Mahādeva, Namaḥ. Gurudev Kī Jaya. Today is 28 March 2021, the auspicious festival of Holī, Phāguna Śukla Pūrṇimā, Saṃvat 2077. We have been blessed to celebrate it in the presence of Gurudev, and great joy has come. Gurudev asked me to speak about Holī. Holī is a sacred festival of Sanātana Dharma and its culture. It is observed in memory of those times in the Satyuga when divine powers were challenged by the rising influence of demonic forces, and when those forces began to torment the devotees of the Lord, the Lord Himself manifested and rescued His bhaktas. Many stories are linked with Holī. Behind it stands a popular ancient tale, for, like many Indian festivals, Holī traces its origin to an ancient mythological story. Once there was a young prince named Prahlād—Bhakt Rāj Prahlād. He was the son of the demon king Hiraṇyakaśipu, a very cruel king whose subjects were terror-stricken by his cruelty. He commanded them to worship him instead of the gods. His son Prahlāda, however, was a great devotee of Lord Viṣṇu. This displeased his father, the demon king, and Prahlāda revolted against his father’s order. Now, the king’s sister, Holikā, possessed a boon that she could not be burned by fire. So the king ordered his sister to burn Prahlād along with herself. She took Prahlāda in her lap and sat in the fire. The fire burned Holikā to ashes, but Prahlād escaped unhurt by the grace of Lord Viṣṇu. Later, Hiraṇyakaśipu was torn into pieces by Lord Viṣṇu. This festival, observed after the second day, celebrates the victory of God over evil. Prahlāda symbolizes good, while Hiraṇyakaśipu represents the embodiment of evil. Holī also marks the beginning of the harvest season, so new ears of corn are roasted in the fire and distributed among friends and relatives. On the night before Holī, a large bonfire is lit. Women offer prayers and sweets into the fire, and people pray for a healthy, peaceful year. On Holī day, people smear ashes from that fire on their foreheads to pay respect to the fire. Then the colorful Holī begins. They go from house to house, smearing gulāl on one another and splashing colored water. Children have great fun—they play pranks, pour color on everyone, fill colored water in balloons and syringes, and spray it on passers-by. Everything is drenched in color. Hari Om. Thank you very much. Yes, very good, very good, you did it very well. Thank you very much. Very good. We wanted to understand today’s significance, for many have heard about this day: first the full moon, and then the Holy day. You have heard about this, and we have had very beautiful bhajans today. You have also heard all of it before in different countries. Every devotee has heard these stories many times: Diwali, Holī, and many others, as well as Guru Pūrṇimā. What is it that we should all do to truly follow what the great saints, poets, and different speakers have given us through these bhajans and lectures? We should take them into our heart, not only into our ears. When something enters our heart, it goes very deep into our consciousness. Because we live in this world, we enjoy here, but it is not forever. This life is meant for sādhanā, for out of the 8.4 million types of jīvas, humans are the ones who can practice. And if humans do not follow the principles of being human, they will surely return again to a different kind of existence, where they too will have a long life, and in that life they will follow. So what I am saying is that our Satguru Swāmī Madhavānandajī Bhagavān hails from Rajasthan, from here Nippal and Vadikattu, Kailāśa, Jaipur, Delhi, and now here in Jadan and other places. Our Satguru Dev, Hindu Dharm Samrāṭ, Madhavānanjī Bhagavān, has brought this message to all the devotees and bhaktas of the entire world. He has already proclaimed: Prakāś Puñj Amṛt Ke Sāgar Śrī Dīp Harī Mahādāniye, Sāre Viśvame Gūñj Rahā Prabhu Kī Amar Kahāniye. Thus, Bhagavān Śrī Devpurījī, Alakhpurījī Mahāprabhujī, and our Satguru Swāmī Madhavānandajī Bhagavān have brought forth the science of the human body. This is not merely about āsanas and prāṇāyāmas and such things; it reaches far deeper within. Today, for this day, there were both good and bad. But tomorrow everybody will come, be very happy, greet one another, and dance in colorful clothes. So, my dears, this was a very good satsaṅg today. I know that those in Australia, New Zealand, Africa, America, Mexico, and all of Europe are asleep now. Yet yoga and life are spread throughout the whole world, and everyone has heard what you spoke, and those who were singing bhajans have conveyed it to all. I am very happy to see you all, and we will continue further. Now we will have one night of beautiful bhajans—a few, two or three—and then we must go to sleep. Thank you, all the best today, on this day of Holī. It is already the night of Holī. Tomorrow is beautiful, and then again—but we will not only wash with water, clean water. So go to your bathroom; there is good water there. Come outside and spread just a little bit on your face. That’s all. That’s it. So come here, help her, come others. You can be here. Deep Nārāyaṇ Bhagavān Kī Jaya. Devadhī Dev, Deveśvara Mahādeva Kī Jaya, Alakhpurījī Mahādeva Kī Jaya. Satguru Svāmī Madhavānandjī Bhagavān Kī Jaya. Satya Sanātana Dharma Kī Jaya. Gurur Brahmā, Gurur Viṣṇu, Gurudevo Maheśvara, Gurur Sākṣāt Para Brahma, Tasmai Śrī Guruve Namaḥ. You have heard the beautiful bhajans that Gurudev has given—such knowledge, such feelings, such devotion that we sense throughout our entire being. So please, come on. Very good. Beautiful. Very good. Dev Purīṣa Mahādeva, Devā Kī Jaya. Śrī Guru Svāmī Madhavānandajī Bhagavān Kī Jaya. Viśvaguru Parahaṃsvayī Maheśvarānandajī Gurudeva Kī Jaya. Now your bhajan comes, boy. Very good. You were sleeping. Oh my God. One bhajan only, because it is already going on ten years—hours. Beautiful satsaṅg, a little bit long, but it was more than three hours, nearly four hours. Very good. Perfect. Thank you. Hari Om. Prasad.
