Practising yoga techniques with Vishwaguruji

Aśvinī Mudrā is practiced for purification and to awaken energy along the spine.

Sit with a straight spine, knees down if possible, leaning slightly forward with the chin toward the chest. Perform Aśvinī Mudrā by contracting on the inhalation and relaxing on the exhalation. The vibration travels the spinal column, purifying all chakras. Keep the eyes closed with a soft gaze if opened. After the mudrā, sit relaxed with normal breath. Chant Oṁ mentally a specified number of times. Conclude by sitting in Vajrāsana, bending forward, and sitting up comfortably.

"Contract, relax, relax, relax. When you inhale oxygen, then contract. Exhale, and relax through the mouth."

"The vibration should be through this spinal column. It is for the first cleaning, purification for the Kuṇḍalinī."

So, we practiced yesterday and the day before. These three points are very important for us. From them, many different techniques and a very nice feeling in the body will arise. Please, no one should come in or go out now. Do not do that. Otherwise, there is disturbance. Fifteen minutes have already passed. Sit in a good posture. We are not in Vajrāsana. A normal, very nice posture. Try to place both knees down on the earth if possible. If not, place one foot down—left or right—and the other foot like this. Then, both knees like this. It will not be good if you are only sitting like this. Lean a little forward, just a little bit. Then our chin comes to the chest. We will be very comfortable. The spinal column is very straight. The stomach is also very comfortable and relaxed. Your lunch... it was, but it is very good. Your stomach, the belly, is still filled from eating, so we will let it settle there. Again, our palms are near the shoulders, and the chin is down. Then we will do the same practice as in the previous days: Aśvinī Mudrā. Aśvinī Mudrā, forty times. But do not kneel for very long, and do not bend forward. The spine should be very straight, very good. Otherwise, I will bring Dr. Martin. He will make your spine straight. Your eyes will be closed. But when you open them, the gaze should be directed about one foot in distance, one step in front of your legs. Okay. Again, sit straight. For Aśvinī Mudrā, please, head slightly down, chin closing toward the heels. Aśvinī Mudrā: contract, relax, relax, relax. When you inhale oxygen, then contract. Exhale, and relax through the mouth. Four times. When you finish, you can stand again, not stand straight. Feel through the whole spine, very relaxed, very comfortable. Your eyes should always be closed. When Aśvinī Mudrā is done, your shoulders are relaxed, elbows relaxed, head a little up, and normal breath. Second round: Aśvinī Mudrā, the fourth time. Aśvinī Mudrā does not hold. Only contract, relax. Just contract, contract, relax. The vibration should be through this spinal column. It is for the first cleaning, purification for the Kuṇḍalinī. This means all chakras from Mūlādhāra till Sahasrāra. Seven times, Oṁ from the nābhi, from the head, till coming back through the nostrils. Inhale. Once more, fourteen times. Yes, no, Brahmrī? No, not Brahmrī. Yes, Oṁ. Mm-hmm. Oṁ. Mm-hmm. Mm-hmm. This is mentally your mantra, with mālā or without mālā, eyes closed, very relaxed. You should remember all three techniques. Now, hey, what is that? Open your eyes and sit in Vajrāsana. Your hands are in front or above your back. Vajrāsana. Go down. Yes, bend forward. And slowly sit up. Sit comfortably. Again.
