I am the Guru of this world. What is the need of becoming a human being? The Vedas, Vedānta, Purāṇas ask why. Sages, seekers, existence, the Guru, doubt, the goal, the other, the body, the mind—all say: fix your mind on the Guru’s name. manārata nām guru kāre, ye avasaravir avatānāi mānushatānā kāre, arasatatīrta dāmasāma śaraṇa-caranokāre. Nāra-satta-tirtā-dāma-sāma-śāraṇa-caraṇo kāre, apu-milīrāneko-satta-saṅgāno kāre, milītirāneko-satta-saṅgāno kāre, manārata-nāma-gurukāre. Yes, I am a human being. Yes, I am a human being. This is the totality of knowledge: to be human. This opportunity will not come again; be human. There is nothing else in this; be steadfast in the word. One attains the vision of the Ātmā, the state of the Self. manārata nāṁ gurukāre ye avasara, fir āvatānāhi manuṣyatānākāre ye avasara, fir avatana hi manuṣyatana kare, turīyatīta brahma sata guru palaka viśva kare. Śrī Lāla Nanda Jī constantly sings: "Oh lamp of qualities, Hari, fix your mind on the Guru’s name. This opportunity will not come again; be human."
