The discipline
Discipline requires wisdom, not rigid force.
We know discipline is vital, yet we also fail. It demands energy. For example, if you are exhausted from a late night or a child's needs, sleep may be better than forcing a yoga practice. Practicing while utterly fatigued can leave you tired all day. However, if the body is merely lazy and the mind resists, you must overcome it. Laziness is a great enemy. You can awaken yourself by brushing the body or taking a shower with alternating water. Listen to your body, mind, and soul to decide. Nothing should feel unpleasant. We practice yoga to cultivate pleasantness. If an action makes you unhappy and pressured, do not do it. You have human rights and free will. Do not be pressured by anyone. Therefore, discern: Is my discipline from external pressure, or is my lack of discipline from laziness? Avoid both. Yet, certain responsibilities, like caring for a small child, demand strict, non-negotiable discipline. Assess your life, determine what is necessary, and apply discipline with self-awareness.
"Your best friend is knowledge, and your great enemy is laziness."
"If you cannot do it and it makes you unhappy and stressed, then do not do it."
