Easter eggs

A spiritual discourse on the sacredness of life and non-violence, using the egg as a central symbol.

"Destroying the egg is already killing. The great seers... see that which is already in the egg."

"God's language is only one: Love all. Have mercy in your heart. Don't destroy the holy creation of God."

The speaker presents a metaphysical argument against consuming eggs, stating that even an egg contains a life force or soul. He equates destroying an egg with killing, urging compassion for all creatures. The teaching frames this principle as a universal truth espoused by Christ, Krishna, Rama, and the Vedic seers, all expressing a singular divine consciousness of love and non-violence.

The egg is very holy, very divine. Destroying the egg is already destroying life. Destroying the egg is already killing. The great seers, or those who see reality, see that which is already in the egg, but you see only the liquid form; still, there are no solid limbs that you can see and make suffer. You destroy the egg; it has the same feeling and the same distress. Therefore, this symbol gives us clarity of the oneness, divinity, the form of life, and how life appears. Everything is in completeness in the form of the egg. So, in this Eastern time, one should not eat eggs. What they are doing in Christianity, what people are doing, is opposite to what it is; it is missing the practical guidance of the self-realized. All the symbols and all the traditions are the same, like in Vedic culture or in other religions; only people interpret according to their selfishness or their feelings, the love, the heart of Christ. Christ means all of you. That is a universal heart, the loving heart. That heart speaks on the cross: "Even if they made a mistake, let me suffer for them, but don't punish them. Forgive them, Father." It means even if someone or another creature has done something bad to you, you should have love for them and forgive. Don't kill them; don't eat them. Better you offer yourself to them before you destroy or kill them; you offer them. That is the understanding of the great seers, the wholly realized person. That means, without that feeling, Christ consciousness will not awaken in the human. There will be no peace in the world. The same words which Christ said were given by Kṛṣṇa, which was about three thousand years before Christ. The same words Kṛṣṇa spoke were given by Rāma, which was about 5,000 years before Kṛṣṇa. And the same words Kṛṣṇa is talking about were spoken by Ṛṣis and all great incarnations through the Upaniṣads and Vedas, which were several thousand years. It means there are no differences. God's language is only one: Love all. Have mercy in your heart. Don't destroy the holy creation of God. Don't kill them; don't eat them. Nature eats nature. Animal eats animal. But human is not an animal. That human eats the animal. This is the first thing we shall observe in our life and respect that holy egg. Your consciousness is that holy egg. Your heart is the holy egg. The form of the heart is the egg form. And these are the two eggs uniting together, which become the heart. And these two eggs mean we and God. This individual one is one with the cosmic one. Even the human body, human life, begins in the embryo also with the form of an egg. Nothing exists in this world, in the universe I would say, which has no form of an egg. That is divine consciousness. When you break an egg, you buy it and you break an egg in your kitchen; it should be clear to you now that you have killed one. That life, that soul which was wandering in the astral world with endless sufferings and experiences, finally found the chance to manifest in this life. And it came to the beginning of life, and again you destroy it. The soul you cannot see with your eyes. When the soul enters the body of the mother, the mother cannot see it. Some feel that yes, they have received it. And when someone dies in front of us, we don't see how the soul is. If you could see that process of the soul, then you would be more careful. It is very easy to take one egg and just heat it and take the liquid out. That is what we understand about what Christ means by giving the egg on this day of his crucifixion.
