Gurupurnima Message

A spiritual discourse on the purpose and impermanence of human life.

"You came alone, and you will go alone. From where did you come? Why did you come? And where will you go? These are the questions, the answers to which we should know in practice."

"Utilize this beautiful human life for the achievement of your realization while fulfilling your social dharma duties."

An unnamed spiritual teacher delivers a direct talk on the urgency of spiritual practice. He emphasizes the transient nature of life, the importance of using time wisely, and the need to realize the divine within while fulfilling social responsibilities. He concludes by urging listeners to make a new spiritual resolve (saṅkalpa) to cultivate purity and divine qualities.

Recording location: Hungary, Vep, Summer seminar

Humans are born as protectors, not as destroyers. Protect God's creation. Humans are born to attain self-realization and God-realization. There is God, there is a universal One, and a part of Him is within you. This we should realize. Life is passing, and time doesn't wait for anyone. Time doesn't wait for anyone. It doesn't matter who is who. Karma comes back to all, and time will wait for no one. Our life is passing like water dripping from the hand. Every day we lose one day. Every day we become older by one day. Therefore, realize the value of time. Time is the most precious thing. You cannot buy time. You cannot stop time. If you are alert and clever enough, then utilize the time. Otherwise, you will go back as you came. Nothing will go with you. You brought nothing with you except your karma and destiny, and when you die, you can't take anything with you. Money, houses, properties, your jewelry, your cars, your friends, your family members—all will stay here. You came alone, and you will go alone. From where did you come? Why did you come? And where will you go? These are the questions, the answers to which we should know in practice. Utilize this beautiful human life for the achievement of your realization while fulfilling your social dharma duties. We have our social responsibilities, and we should not deny them. We should maintain harmony, peace, understanding, and love in our social life too. So today, make a new saṅkalpa and begin your spiritual sādhanā. Make a saṅkalpa that you will not think negatively anymore. You will not think negative thoughts. You will not be jealous. You will not be angry. You will not be greedy. From today onwards, you will give up all drugs, except if a doctor advises you to take some tablets. And from today onwards, you will become a very pure vegetarian. Develop your human qualities. Within you is the immortal soul. Within you is the fountain of joy. Within you is the ocean of bliss. Just kill this little "I" and lead a divine life. That will make you very, very happy. So thank you for coming. I bless you all with good health, long life, spiritual development, and self-realization. Do your best, what you can. If you can't do good, then at least you should not do bad. If you can't think positively, then at least don't think negatively. For whom you are fighting, one day they will not be yours. Therefore, concentrate on your spiritual aim. I pray to Almighty Śrī Devpurījī, Śrī Mahāprabhujī, and Gurujī to bless you. --- Recording location: Hungary, Vep, Summer seminar
