A discourse on the source of spiritual and ethical knowledge.

"All these ethical and moral principles were declared by the ṛṣis. Astrology, astronomy, all science is given by the ṛṣis."

"Ātmā sohi paramātmā, they said. This ātmā is the Self, the Supreme God. And that Supreme One is this ātmā which you have in the body."

The speaker expounds on the foundational wisdom provided by the ancient ṛṣis, or seers, attributing to them the origins of spiritual knowledge, science, and ethical teachings centered on universal love and non-harm. The discourse illustrates the perfection of God's creation, from an ant to the human body, and critiques religious conflict and materialism, using the story of Krishna revealing his universal form to Arjuna. It argues that suffering arises from ignoring the ṛṣis' teachings on unity, leading to a call for surrender, service, and recognition of the divine in all.

How should the human know what is God? Someone must have told them. How does the human know that there is karma and rebirth? How does the human know that there is sin? Someone must have told them. This is by the ṛṣis. All these ethical and moral principles were declared by the ṛṣis. Astrology, astronomy, all science is given by the ṛṣis. The medical system was also given by the ṛṣis. That we have different bodies, like the physical body, astral body, mental body, and causal body, is knowledge given by the ṛṣis, what we call education. It began with the ṛṣis. After a while, slowly, slowly, things began to develop more and more, no doubt, but the origins are the ṛṣis. They were very great thinkers, they were very holy. Their abilities are indescribable, and such people were existing on our planet. All these different philosophies, of which we are all proud, were given by some ṛṣis. They were throughout the world. They were the siddhas. Anywhere they could appear. Anywhere they could go. Their message was love. Protection. Be kind. Be kind to all creatures. Be merciful. Never do anything against another. Ātmā sohi paramātmā, they said. This ātmā is the Self, the Supreme God. And that Supreme One is this ātmā which you have in the body. Viśvaprāṇī mērī ātmā hai. All creatures in this world are myself, my ātmā. When you do something against someone, you are doing it against yourself. To love yourself means to love others. Love all creatures, if not more, then at least that much, as much as you love yourself. It means everyone loves themselves. That much you should love others, because others are also yourself. Do not harm. God's work is great. Can you imagine how long a time it took to create a creature? How fine this work is. For example, take a small ant. How fine this work is. Ants have got a spine, ribs, a digestive system, intestines, a heart, circulation, glands, kidneys, a small brain, many joints in the body, legs, toes, fingers, all kinds of organs, male and female, a tongue, a mouth, teeth, and it's such a tiny ant. Which instrument did this God use to make this body? How long a time did it take to make this creature, and how beautifully they made the wings? The ant spreads its wings suddenly, and she can fly proudly. How wings are put on the body, and who told her that now you can fly, dear one? Likewise, we can think how long a time it took to make this human body. How many functions are in the body? This is the biggest science. No science in the world can do this. What God has done, what God is maintaining, and what God can do, no one can do. How many trees? Every tree has different leaves, a different cut, and every season gets the same cut of the leaves. How many scissors does He have in His hands? Does it make the perfect shape for all the leaves? The water, the air, the earth. Someone who created this world must be a perfect one. That is the Īśvara. That is that God. Not that God for whom we are fighting. For whom we fight, "This is my religion, your religion, and this God, and that God, and this is not God, and this is only the God." God smiles. And you say, "This is only the God." "He is only the Saviour." He smiles. That on one cheek we put nice cream, you know, on God's. And on the other cheek we give Him a slap when we deny this God and that God. Īśvara, He is one. Universal brain, universal body, like when Arjuna finally asked Kṛṣṇa, "How should I believe what you are saying? So, who are you then?" Kṛṣṇa is saying to Arjuna, "Arjuna, you will not be able to see me. You would not stand through if you want to see my reality." Arjuna said, "Don't worry, I am Arjuna. With strong arms, I am not one who can be frightened." Then Kṛṣṇa said, "OK." Kṛṣṇa shows His universal form. What he sees in the body of Kṛṣṇa suddenly is only the sky. Planets, rivers, mountains, fires, volcanoes, floods, creatures, coming, going. Arjuna thought, "Now I am totally schizophrenic. I have heard many things about hallucinations, but not that much." He completely lost his balance. Finally, he said, "O Lord, O Kṛṣṇa, I believe who you are." That you are the universe, but please come to your original form. Vrať se ke své původní podobě. I love that form. Then Kṛṣṇa again appeared in His original form. God is the universe. We can't compare to Him. We should only surrender and serve His divine creatures. We should not destroy God's work. People are destroying the work of people, but we should not destroy the work of God. Respect that. Help, be kind, be generous, tolerant, loving. These are the teachings of the ṛṣis. You can call them holy men. You may call them gurus. Or you may call them saints. Or you may call them ṛṣis. You may call them divine ones. Or you may call them gods. They were. And they are with us, and they will be. The ṛṣi mind, the ṛṣi thoughts, the ṛṣi consciousness, the ṛṣi's wisdom is with us. And there, may it will come again. There was a great ṛṣi, Agastya Muni, and he drank the whole ocean, he sucked the totally whole ocean because a Rākṣasa was hidden in the ocean, and so they came to the ṛṣi for help, and he said, "Where is he?" "He is hiding somewhere in the ocean down under some rocks." Just with one breath, he emptied the ocean. It is their Śakti. It can happen. God can do here where we are sitting, if God wishes, it will be within half an hour an ocean here, or within no time, the earth can just turn out. You know, in January in India there was an earthquake. It was such a terrible earthquake. What we hear in some fairy tales, that the earth separates, and it did. You know, in such a movement of the earthquake, the earth was separated and buildings just fell in. Therefore, He is known as the Almighty. So He is a gracious one. He is the kindest one. That we have a comfortable life and we can move here. The earth belongs to God, not to us. We are only fighting out of our ignorance. "That's my land, that's my country, till there is my border." This is for God. When He looks at us, He sees these children playing. How ignorant they are. And in the name of these dividing countries, how many wars are going on in the world. Why? Because people do not follow the teachings of the ṛṣis. They do not follow the teachings of the holy saints. If you know and if you read the histories and mythologies of the Greek philosophies, there have been also many great, great saints, miraculous, what they call goddesses, different kinds of gods, they were ṛṣis. They preserved it in some other part of the world. They didn't preserve all this. If you read the Bibles, there are also many great saints. Why are they not anymore here? Because we don't recognize them. Anyone who comes, we try to destroy. Kill him, blame him, crucify him. Here you are. Who dares to say today that I am God? Who dares to say that I am Jesus born again? The poor Jesus, he is hiding, he is scared to appear again. We are only praying to his photos and his symbols. In reality, we don't want him to be here. Will anybody respect him and see him as his God, the Incarnator again? We who believe in Jesus have put it at such a border that we don't believe in reincarnation. That's finished. That was a closed subject. Now even if He incarnates again, we who believe that Jesus is teaching that there is no incarnation. So you cannot be that. Who are you? Close him somewhere in a psychiatric hospital. Even if he will come, we are so blind, we will not love him, respect him, giving this that we don't believe in reincarnation. It's like no bamboo, no flute, no noise, finished. Therefore, then he will again come with another name. Jesus comes, he was there before also, and he is here. And he will come. Only we don't accept. Why? Because we don't know the reality. We know only this world's material relation, that's all. Birth till death. After death, if someone gets up from the grave and comes home, what will you say? Knocking on the window. You are sitting at home, and you are very sad. Grandfather died; I loved him, he was so kind, he gave me lollies so many times, but he died. Yesterday was the funeral. You miss him. His room is lonely. His coat and hat are hanging. His shoes are lying there. His walking stick is there. Some of his books, which he used to read, are there. All this reminds you of your lovely grandfather. Why, Grandfather, did you leave us? Why? Where are you? Where can we talk to you? And suddenly, the window is knocking. It's a very cold winter outside, and Grandfather says, "I'm here, my child, open the door." Will you be able to go and open the door? You go to the telephone. That's it. You have no courage to take one step towards him to see that relation; he will call the police, they will call psychiatric, they will take you to the hospital, even if you say, "I saw my grandfather, I know him," they will put you back on the bed. You get up and say, "But he came." They will put you down again and give him long business actions. Relations change, relationships. We know only relations in this material, limited world. If the grandfather is reborn again in China, or in Japan, or in Africa, or North America, or somewhere, and he comes and tells you, "I am your grandfather," you will say, "Crazy man." I fought for this country to get independence for this country. I was in war here and there. I know by heart my birthplace and everyone. But still, even he doesn't get a visa for this country for which he fought. But God's māyā is. So nothing is yours. It's given to you, that's all. For a while, to spend time here. O humans, don't fight for the land which doesn't belong to you. It is God's property. It's God's planet. It's God's creation. They are God's children. God allows you to live here free and happy. No, we don't do this. So that's why we are suffering now, because we don't follow the teachings of the ṛṣis. We don't follow their vākyas. And those who are following become wise, they become holy, they become liberated, they become liberators, they become the saviors, and they will go again. We are nourishing mentally and intellectually from the words of the great men of this world. One of them was Patañjali, the perfect one. Recording location: Czech Republic, Strilky, Summer seminar
