I have said before that yoga without spirituality is a body without a soul; it needs the master. Nothing in this world, nothing in human civilization, functions without a master. In English, 'master', and in Hindi and Sanskrit, we call guru. Guru means darkness; guru means light. He is the one who leads us from the darkness of ignorance to the light of wisdom. You still have the same body, the same two eyes—nothing has changed in your body. But you know how to drive. What changed in you? You became alert, trying to learn something. You must have a master; until university, you have a master. For every profession, we need a master. And now, in this modern civilization, complications are appearing day by day. Whatever you have learned, you need a certificate. Without a certificate, they will not trust you. They will not believe you. That certificate, that signature, and that stamp on it have the value. You cannot sign and make a stamp yourself and then say, "This is my certificate as a medical doctor." If you design it yourself and sign it, it will not function. So this is how, in our material world, it is very important to have a master. In the material world and the spiritual world, you do need spiritual guidance. Without guidance, you are lost. Of course, you can say, "I am the guru; I myself am the guru." Achieve that which you should achieve. Practice, which is the energy. The master gives you the time of initiation. That energy is something like when your car doesn't start because your battery is down. You get a push to start your car, then you can go, and then your battery will function again. So we need a first push, which he provides on this path. All chakras are very, very important. Every chakra has its own phenomenon and explanation, which is very important.
