Devotion, Love and Marriage (part 2)

A wife's devotion and truth can restore justice and a husband's honor. A queen's husband is exiled due to his brother-in-law's false accusations. The sad queen deduces the plot. She disguises herself as a swāmī, travels to the king, and charms him with devotional singing. When offered a boon, she claims the brother-in-law owes her money. The man truthfully denies knowing the swāmī. The queen reveals her identity, explaining the brother-in-law deceived her in her palace. The king imprisons the brother-in-law and frees her husband, praising her. True marriage is heart-to-heart devotion, not mere emotion. One must wait patiently for a destined partner, not be ruled by immediate senses, to find real happiness.

"See how a wife can protect the husband, and how the husband can put his hand on his heart and speak on behalf of his wife. That is called devotion."

"Mother Earth will not lose the seeds. Even if there is a drought for ten years, after ten years when the rain comes, you will be surprised how many seeds grow."

Paramātmā, mokṣa, saṃskāra, dhyāna, sattva, guṇa, Paramātmā... He went straight to her room, and she said to him, "Thank you for what you have done," and turned back and went away. That's all—that is the ego of the man. That is why they are suffering mostly; often, women are not guilty. The guilt is the man's. That's it. The negative thinking of the man, the jealousy of the man, is called blackmailing. It is like a saṅkalpa; it comes true then. So, do not be jealous. He went straight away. Hari Om. She was very sad. After so many years she came—why is she angry? It took her time to find out something. Then she said, "There must be something with that aunt. There must be one piece of black rice in the rice." Then she sent her message around, and very soon she came to know what happened. Now she decided to bring her husband back home and to prove to the king that his brother-in-law is completely wrong, a fake man. What did she do? She took a beautiful orange sari, like a swāmī's dress—a beautiful swāmī dress—and a nice tilak. She had nothing to do in the palace, so she was learning harmonium and singing. By God's gift, she had a beautiful voice, and she learned beautiful bhajans. She moved out straight towards Delhi. It took one or two months, and she came near the palace. She sent a message to the Bahādur that there was a saint, a Swāmī, who would like to sing one bhajan for him. He said, "Why not? I am happy. I am blessed by this holy saint." She came; he gave her a high place to sit, and she sang beautifully—a beautiful queen. But nobody knew she was a queen. The king said, "One more, please." So she sang. The Bahādur was completely melted. "Your Holiness, what can I do for you? Anything you wish—land, kingdom, money." She said, "I do not wish anything. You see, I came here to take my credit back. I lent some money to your brother-in-law. He came to me, stayed with me, and he took money from me, saying that in ten days or in one month he would give me the money back. But it is already one year; he did not pay me back. He did not pay you money back." The Bahādur said, "No, Your Highness." Then the Bahādur said, "Call the Fajulaka. Why didn't you return the money?" He said, "To whom? To this Swāmījī? I never took money from this Swāmījī. With the presence of Allāh and the Qur'ān on my heart, I tell you, my highness, I never even saw her." "You never saw her?" The queen said, "Yes, sir. He is true; he speaks true. He never saw me. I am the queen of Mansingh. And he, with the drink, brought this knife and something about my body. I was cheated by one elderly lady." The Bahādur became so angry. He put the Fajulaka in prison for wrong information. He said, "No, sir." Then he said, "No, no, no—five years away from his wife as a punishment." And he said to Mansingh, "You are free to go. I am so happy that you have such a nice wife." That's it. So, see how a wife can protect the husband, and how the husband can put his hand on his heart and speak on behalf of his wife. That is called devotion. That is called love. If husband and wife have the same opinion, the same path, never quarreling, they will get power in heaven. So, married life is something beautiful, too. You know, marriage means not only physical love; this is the last. It is heart-to-heart, person-to-person. That's it. Not these little, little things, emotional things. But you think that is wife for it, or husband for that. So find like this. Wait one year, two years, ten years, twenty years, fifty years. Wait eighty years. Next life. But it will come, you know. Mother Earth will not lose the seeds. Even if there is a drought for ten years, after ten years when the rain comes, you will be surprised how many seeds grow. Similarly, there are the women, and there are the men who are meant for you. But you are not able to wait. That is your problem. Why? Why? Because you are present in your feelings and senses. So, if you are present, you will never be happy. If you are happy, playing is a theater; the real happiness is different. Rest by next lecture. Thank you very much.
