Dear friends, dear citizens of Sombathai, I greet you from my whole heart. I am very happy that you have gathered here for this prayer for peace. May I also greet our beloved Master, Paramahaṁsa Swāmī Maheshwarānandajī, who has initiated this event, which has already been organized in many countries around the world. As announced on the postcards, posters, and information letters, we have invited representatives of all religions, all religious groups, and churches to express their prayer for world peace. May I now ask all the religious groups present here to please come to the podium and represent your religion, your church. I welcome you to this world peace prayer. We know this prayer is not only for a particular nation, but for the whole world. Not for a particular religion, but for all cultures. Not for particular political parties, but for humanity. These prayers are for them—for the millions of children who have lost their parents, and the millions of people who are suffering in war. May God bless us with peace, harmony, and mutual understanding in our world. I will pray in the Sanskrit language, and afterward I will translate it. Mṛtyur māyamṛtaṁ gamaya, sarveṣāṁ svaṣṭir bhavatu, sarveṣāṁ śāntir bhavatu, sarveṣāṁ maṅgalaṁ bhavatu. Oṁ Tryambakaṁ yajāmahe sughandhiṁ puṣṭi-vardhanam, urvārukam iva bandhanān mṛtyormukṣīya māmṛtāt. Karata, Prabhudīp Karata, Mahāprabhudīp Karata hi kevalam. Oṁ Śāntiḥ Śāntiḥ Śāntiḥ. Merciful Lord, lead us from unreality to reality. Lead us from darkness to the light. Lead us from mortality to immortality. Bless us with world peace, good health, mutual understanding, and harmony in our world. Lead us to your divine light. We are not the doer. You are the doer. Merciful Lord, only you are the doer. We pray to thee to forgive all our sins and mistakes and bless us with light, happiness, love, freedom, and peace. Peace, peace, peace be in the whole world. God bless you all.
