Everything that exists has its foundation in something. The entire cosmic order, from subatomic particles to galaxies, is founded upon the powers of unity and continuity. The present is founded in the past, and the future is founded in the present. Without that foundation, we would be doomed to wander constantly, forced to rediscover what others knew long ago. The stability of continuity makes possible the dynamism and development of all levels of existence. At the highest level of truth realization, at the spiritual level, that foundation is called Paramparā. Paramparā is the spiritual lineage of the knowers, the realized masters. The Master who is part of the Paramparā, through his living presence, living word, and living blessing, enables the seeker surely and safely to reach the measurelessness of spiritual realization. India is a country of timeless wisdom. That is why, following one great soul, Vishwaguru Mahāmaṇḍaleśvara Paramahaṁsa Śrī Svāmī Maheśvarānandajī, we traveled this country of yogīs, ṛṣis, and saints. Śrī Maheśvarānandajī bestowed upon the world the jewel of self-realization: the Yoga in Daily Life system. The system itself, long since accepted throughout the world, is rooted in the ancient science of yoga but remains immeasurably alive and relevant in the struggle for balance and harmony in daily life. With this visit to India, Śrī Svāmījī led us along the paths of his paramparā. The Om Viśvadīp Gurukul Śrī Māheśvarānanda Āśram Research and Education Center is located in the district of Pālī in Rājasthān. Just as Oṃ, the highest truth, the level of absolute unity, unites all that exists, so this āśram unites the past, present, and future of the Om Śrī Alakh Purī Jī, Siddha Pīṭh Paramparā. This lineage of spiritual masters began with Śrī Alakhpurījī, a timeless soul, one of seven ṛṣis who, for the benefit of all beings, lives disembodied in the mountains of the Himālaya. Just as the Himalayas join earth and heaven, so the Om Āśram joins all qualities which enrich and ennoble life. Here, the form of Oṃ is emerging. By far the largest on the planet, a hymn to completeness and oneness, chiseled in Rajasthani stone, is slowly taking shape, already hinting at its eventual utter beauty. This gift to humanity flows from Svāmījī’s being as a symbol of the unity of human and nature, human and human, human and God. Thus, this magnificent jewel becomes civilization’s common treasure, shared by the whole planet. The Om Āśram is growing into a noble beacon in the darkness of mankind’s personal and collective confusion. At the heart of the huge stones of this ashram lies a diamond: a samādhi, the place where the physical body of a spiritual giant, Paramahaṁsa Śrī Svāmī Madhavānandajī, is buried. At this place of Gurujī’s spiritual splendor, we celebrated the 45th anniversary of Śrī Madhavānandajī’s Guru, Bhagavān Śrī Dīp Nārāyaṇ Mahāprabhujī, leaving his physical body. Today, Śrī Mahāprabhujī is present and accessible to those hearts who, by singing his name, transcend the abyss of time and space of their own minds. O frog, give up the attachment to this little pond, kar samdhriyoka vāsa, go and live in the endless ocean. So this world, māyā, is a small pond; Brahmaloka is the endless ocean. O my soul, divine, relinquish all hope in this world; embrace disappointment, suffering, confusion, and pain, for nothing else resides here. Come, let us go to the Paramānanda forever and ever. A few days after marking Śrī Mahāprabhujī’s physical departure from this world, we celebrate the ninth birthday of one experienced soul in a young body. Svāmī Avatarpurī lives and grows alongside his spiritual father, Śrī Mahāśvarānandajī. Janam Dīnī Kī Badhāī Sādhanā, under the guidance of the Master, is the sure path to the realization of one’s own name. Realization of the name elevates the yogī to self-realization. In Jaipur Āśram, we celebrated Christmas Eve. All the saints of the world are the common paramparā of us all. That common treasure speaks all languages. The light in this coach is the knowledge. If there is no knowledge, then tumhārā jīvana andhakāra mahī. If there is no light of knowledge in your intellect, in your mind, in your consciousness, then you are in darkness; you are lost. Troubles everywhere, here and there, you are in the troubles. That’s why the ṛṣi munis said, and in the Upaniṣads said, "Mantra, lead us from the darkness to..." what means in Sanskrit, "Tamaso mā jyotir gamaya." Gyān kī bhaṭṭī rāt meṁ lagāī, in this koṣ, I put on the light, and that light means the knowledge. After Śrī Alakhpurījī, the light of this Siddha Pīṭha Paramparā was Param Yogīśvara Śrī Devpurījī. Here in the village of Kailash, Śrī Mahāśvarānandajī built this āśram as a hymn to the omnipotent purity of the spirit, which shines from Śrī Devpurījī as the incarnation of Śiva. Surrounding this samādhi, where the body of the Mahāyogī is buried, bhaktas and seekers are meditating on his inextinguishable presence. Here, under the orange flag, symbol of the self and of the fire of self-purification, Śrī Devpurījī lives his uncloudable tapas. Each leaf of this neem and the whole ashram vibrates the story of the one who was and who is beyond limitations. The completeness of his paramparā shines by the clear light of Tapasvinī in continuously flowing time. First of all, a very happy, healthy, harmonious, peaceful, and spiritual development in the new year. One after another, flower garlands make one feel truly welcomed. In the heat of Rajasthan, Gurudev is showered by the pure warmth of love. The warmth of their welcome evokes warm words of truth. That is why, my dear friends, you should neither wear a mask nor any jewellery, and you should not undergo any medical treatment at home. Do not keep it in the fridge and do not eat it. We live with purity; we are humans, not animals. Even if we have just a handful of rice in our stomach, we can live with a full stomach. Killing an animal and eating it is a great sin. After satsaṅg, we enjoyed delicious meals served with the famous Indian hospitality. But Śrī Svāmījī had to satiate the hunger of the media, hunger for words which would touch the minds and hearts of millions. In every city, at every step, the coming of the Paramahaṁsa, the greatest swan, the embodiment of the liberated soul, is celebrated. Purī Jī, Purī Jī,... Purī Jī. Gurujī’s presence is truly recognized as the availability of God to all of us. Guru Dev testifies that it is also in all of us. His blessing and the mercy of His service are the essential poetry of life. That mother gave birth to a beloved son who illuminated the name of India throughout the world. He is our dear Sanśrī Mahīśvarānanjī Mārāj, for whom... To dispel the darkness, they fill their palms, and in love for the nation, laughing and laughing, a bullet or a scar burns on the chest—such is the uniqueness of a people with hearts of gold. How much excitement there is when a saint is welcomed into someone’s home. The immortal enters the home of mortals. Love unites, and unity liberates. The dust of the saint’s feet dissolves the painful cramps of ego. The mind and intellect, paralyzed by ego, cannot save the soul from the jaws of ignorance concerning the true self. This can be achieved only through understanding the words of the knower of truth. What was the reason behind their thinking? And when we talk about the 84 lakh jīvas, each zone contains countless jīvas, meaning every particle of this soil... Places of pilgrimage are the common paramparā of all Hindus. Pushkar is one of the jewels of Indian spirituality. In the solemn beauty of the dawn, the body bathes in the lake of purity, the lake of life, and the soul bathes in the ocean of peace, in the deep ocean of divine presence. In the Vedic school, Vedic mantras welcome the one who knows the essence of the Vedas. India knows that Gurudev is the living embodiment of the wisdom of all holy scriptures. As Brahmā, the creator of the universe, is one, so this temple, dedicated to Brahmā in Pushkar, is the only one in India. The playful spirit of India so vividly paints the indescribable one. Every altar is enlivened with the presence of the Divine. The consciously defined and marked goal is no longer so hard to reach. Here, one never forgets Paramparā, the light that liberates, the flame that never dies out. Sumerpur impatiently awaits the day the Mahātma comes. The great soul, by its own physical presence, testifies to the life that never dies and the time that never passes. Genetically aware of the significance of the saint, these people are going for darśan, forgetting the whole game of pain and happiness of their daily lives. They know that the encounter with the yogī is powerful nectar that awakens spirituality in the heart of humanity. Without spirituality, we remain limited by the transitory dimension of life, which we know through our senses and intellect. That limitation makes the human spirit feel claustrophobic in this body, time, and space. The Gianī, the knower of the unlimited, unlocks the gate of the dungeon of ignorance. Not everyone dares to step into freedom, but at least we know it exists. These moments are experienced deeply. They are memorized in one’s whole being and are spoken about for a long time. So we remember that our dream of awakening is achievable and transmit this knowledge to others. That is why it is said that there will be a debate, the earth will be burdened, and one day a crisis will come. If desires are not fulfilled, then why is it that the mother is born as the giver to the devotees? The sun, the moon, and the three worlds are needed; if not, then remain barren. Do not grieve, O light, because the first name that adorned the country was that of Sattī. True austerity, true strength, true illumination—by the power of true energy, the entire universe can be moved. Now, recall the most beautiful, blissful, joyful, and best day of your life—a day of happiness. This lovely ashram in the city of Rani is a new opportunity for Guru Darśan. Gratitude for Gurudev’s presence is expressed through the beauty of bhajans in the evening satsaṅg. In the Rajasthan village of Nepal, across this river that is almost always dry, lies an oasis of peace, the Śrī Madhvānanda Āśram. Holy Gurujī, Svāmījī’s guru, said that Śrī Mahāprabhujī’s divine peace is eternally present in this āśram. Here, Śrī Mahāśvarānandajī began his journey, his return to the divine. Today, at the place where, through the mercy of his Gurujī, he went through his yogic tapas, Svāmījī is welcomed with respect and love. Everything here reminds one of the days of his first steps. Not far from Nepal, in the village of Bola Guda, this is an ashram of true tapasyā, true vairāgya. Here lived and meditated, for a shorter or longer time, Śrī Devpurījī, Śrī Mahāprabhujī, and Holy Gurujī. In this ashram, Śrī Maṅgalājī, through the mercy of Mahāprabhujī, passed through all the levels of samādhi and passed into freedom. Here burns everything that can burn. Bola Guda is pure ash. Only ash without residue truly feeds, purifies, and heals. Even today, sādhus and yogīs from all continents worship these inextinguishable beacons of ātmā. They worship their Paramparā. After a pilgrimage along the footsteps of the Paramparā, we are back in the Temple of Oneness, in the Om Āśram. The ashram is full of neem trees and every type of flower. The omnipotent softness of the spirit and the abundance of life in the heart of the desert. How fascinating to see how the form of the Sanskrit letter Oṃ grows. It is just one letter, but a letter that contains everything. They chisel in stone the bud that will soon bloom into a full flower. A flower for all those who want to make honey from the blossom of life. Therefore, in the center of this monument is Śrī Madhavānandajī, whose name means sweetest one. It is a great privilege to be here and participate in the carving of the Om Āśram on the map of mankind. Once it is carved, the ashram itself will become a part of Paramparā, the foundation of civilization. From this man-made lake, which collects rain so rare and so precious, water seeps life into everything in the ashram and its wider surroundings. Only those who live here know how great a blessing each drop in this lake is. These cows, abandoned and homeless, found their refuge in the gosala of the ashram. Those noble animals are no longer thirsty; they are not hungry anymore. Early in the morning, the conch shell sounds far and wide. It is time for prayer, a time when the soul is healed in the lap of Paramparā. The ashram has a temple for the body as well. This hospital, when completely equipped through all its five floors and over a hundred beds, will offer refuge and hope for thousands of patients. Yogīs know that health is the greatest wealth, and they respect it. The body is the home of the soul, and it needs complete support. Here, they will receive it at its most modern level. But the heaviest and most deadly of all diseases is ignorance. That’s why Śrī Svāmījī built this school complex. Here one can acquire knowledge of the world from elementary school right through college. Education is the pillar of civilization, and these children are absorbing it in the best possible conditions. The great number of computers opens the door of the future to everybody. For all of Rajasthan, this school is already a prestigious temple of knowledge. Its special value is in uniting the wisdom of yoga and the precious traditions of Indian culture, Mahāprabhujī. Karatā Mahāprabhujī, Karatā Mahāprabhujī. At the end of this journey along the footsteps of the masters, Gurudev, as the light of paramparā, brings to light the hidden truth of life. And our dear holy Gurujī used to say, one in all and all in one. That one God, that one supreme, that one divine consciousness, that cosmic consciousness, that Ātmā is within all, and all are within.
