The Practice and Power of Trāṭaka
An evening satsang on the theory and practice of Trāṭaka, or yogic gazing.
"Trāṭaka means gazing on one point. The best object is the flame from a lamp of good ghee from a cow—not from buffaloes, goats, or sheep."
"While practicing Trāṭaka, if you practice every day, morning and evening, without interruption for twelve years, you will attain a siddhi... a very pure, very kind, and merciful look in your eyes."
Swami Prakashananda Saraswati provides detailed instructions for the cleansing technique of Trāṭaka. He explains suitable objects for gazing, such as a pure ghee flame or a black dot, and warns against using a mirror. He describes the profound benefits, including purification of mind, improved speech, and the awakening of divine energy and intuition, while stressing the necessity of guidance from a properly trained teacher and the use of a Guru Mantra. The talk includes a cautionary story about two monks to illustrate the importance of inner purity and forgiveness.

Vegeteraian cooking, heatlhy nurishment and enjoying the food.
Vegetarian kitchen in praxis (part 1)
A practical cooking seminar on making vegetarian food appealing.
"Scientifically, vegetarianism is the best path. But in practice, it is not so simple. We must contemplate how to make it appealing."
"A simple way is to slice tofu and fry it in oil... When the tofu or seitan gets a golden crust from roasting, put it into the sauce to gain flavor."
Following an introductory talk on the health and environmental rationale for vegetarianism, the speaker's wife leads a practical cooking demonstration. She shows how to prepare flavorful, meat-like dishes using tofu and seitan (wheat gluten), focusing on techniques like pressing tofu, creating spice-infused oils, and using marinades to make the dishes appealing, especially to those accustomed to meat-centric cuisine. The session concludes with a Q&A on food storage and preparation.

Vegetarian kitchen in praxis (part 2)
A culinary lecture and demonstration on vegetarian cooking, focusing on legumes and practical dietary wisdom.
"A common mistake is when someone says, 'I am independent of food; I am already a great yogī; I do not care what I eat.' But this is not a sign of spiritual maturity."
"The difference between us vegetarians and non-vegetarians is that we eat such food daily, while they might have it two or three times a week."
The speaker, Jaroslav, opens by discussing the philosophy of vegetarian food, arguing it should be a pleasurable gastronomic experience for everyone. He addresses protein sources, the role of fats, and critiques common dietary mistakes. His wife then takes over to explain detailed techniques for preparing legumes to improve digestibility, including soaking, peeling, and spicing. She also introduces a product called Hraška (pea flour) as a versatile, egg-like binding agent. The session concludes with a Q&A where the couple fields questions on soy sauce, legume varieties, and product availability.

A seminar on health, illness, and vegetarian diet, divided into theoretical discussion and practical advice.
"My answer was that there should be institutional support for mothers: strength, financial support, and social appreciation for being at home, taking care of children, and cooking for their husbands every day."
"Obesity is not from excess, but from deficiency... The main cause, as I mentioned in the beginning, is usually not in the food, but in the psyche."
The event features a couple, the Škvařil family, sharing their experiences and knowledge. The wife opens by emphasizing the foundational role of home-cooked food and a mother's care in establishing lifelong health and vegetarian habits, sharing personal anecdotes and advice. The husband then provides a theoretical background, discussing definitions of health, psychosomatic connections, and the benefits of aligning diet with natural cycles like fasting periods. The wife concludes with a practical demonstration of preparing a gentle spelt porridge, followed by a Q&A session addressing topics like vegetarian bodybuilding and diet for eyesight.

Part 1: The Awakening of Consciousness: Kuṇḍalinī and Cakras
A lecture on Kundalini, chakras, and the science of yoga.
"Yoga is not a religion, it is not a philosophy, it is not a dogma, but it is the eternal principle in this universe, like the cosmic consciousness itself."
"The awakening of the Kuṇḍalinī is a divine process; you don't feel it as a physical sensation. You feel happy, as if in the lap of the mother."
Swami Maheshwarananda delivers an extensive discourse on the awakening of consciousness through Kundalini and the chakra system. He explains yogic anatomy, including the 72,000 nāḍīs (energy channels) and the major chakras, describing their roles in physical, mental, and spiritual development. The talk covers the interplay of mind, intellect, and subconscious impressions, the importance of dharma, and the ultimate goal of uniting individual consciousness with the Cosmic Consciousness.

Mahaprabhuji is endless joy
A satsang discourse on the duality of worldly joy and the singular refuge of divine grace.
"The joy of the joyous is very short, but the suffering of the joyous is longer."
"He can give you everything, but he can’t give you what he can give you. We need only confidence, that’s all."
The speaker reflects on the fleeting nature of worldly happiness, which is always paired with hidden sorrow, contrasting it with the endless joy of the divine. He proclaims Mahāprabhujī as the incarnate God and liberator, emphasizing that true peace is found only in unwavering devotion and surrender to this grace, using the metaphor of a seabird that must return to its ship in a vast ocean.

The Path of Discipline: From Diet to Meditation
A satsang on meditation, discipline, and diet as part of Rāja Yoga.

"Patañjali says, 'Atha yogānuśāsanam'—'if you want to achieve higher consciousness... I am ready to guide you with one condition: that is discipline.'"
The lecturer addresses an international meditation seminar, framing meditation within Patañjali's path of discipline. He identifies laziness and the six inner enemies—desire, anger, pride, greed, delusion, and ego—as primary obstacles. The discourse extensively links spiritual practice to a sattvic vegetarian diet centered on fruits, vegetables, nuts, and fresh milk, explaining how nourishment affects the mind. He outlines preparatory steps for meditation, including the use of a mantra and mālā, and demonstrates basic meditation postures and mudrās.
