People pray for rain, but often do so selfishly as beggars. Śiva asks for unconditional love and devotion, not begging. The use of chemical pesticides creates unbearable heat in the earth, harming it like a cancer and contributing to environmental breakdown. The four monsoon months are designated for dedicated worship and meditation on Lord Śiva. Śiva is the eternal, undestroyable consciousness from which all manifestation arises. I advise all to meditate on Śiva and repeat the mantra. Prayer must come from a heart of endless love, not like morning dew that vanishes. The practice of prāṇa sañcāraṇa kriyā involves guiding and purifying this energy. Spiritual practice is about purifying the spirit, which is the radiance of the soul. Impurities from negative actions create layers over the soul, obstructing its light. Doubt creates confusion and loneliness, preventing trust and faith. The accumulation of layers means one cannot fulfill their purpose. One must always be ready to learn and surrender, for no amount of knowledge brings completeness. Modern life, with its weak nourishment and pollution, accelerates aging and decline. Follow your inner calling in work, not force. Initial interest in a subject often fades, leaving no love for the work; you must not continue but discover different talents. High qualifications do not prevent one from finding simple work beautiful, as with a doctor who found happiness as a babysitter. If you do not know your calling, take time to relax and contemplate. New talents may awaken in fields like astrology or music, even if prior training becomes burdensome. Remember, the one who gave the peak will provide the food; God assumes the destiny of devotees. When scared or without direction, go inside and pray to find the answer within, for you alone must face your destiny. The soul is a weary traveler, like a bird on a ferry in a vast ocean, finding no shelter except in returning to the divine, which never refuses. "Lord, give me just enough that I can feed my family. Authentic scriptures are eternal and unchanging. There are two kinds of texts: authentic, revealed scripture and remembered tradition or personal commentary. Personal understanding can be mistaken, so one must rely on the pure, original words. Half-knowledge is dangerous and makes noise. The guru's direct words are the perfect mantra. True service arises from non-separation, not personal desire. Serving any being is serving God, for "I am that one, and that one is me." This connection is ever-present and known. A story illustrates the flaw of selfishness within service. A devoted disciple was sent on an errand and, when offered food by a host, requested a specific dish to fulfill a personal wish. Upon returning, he suffered stomach pain. The master explained the pain was karmic result of that selfish demand, lasting hours. A guest should accept what is given with love; to demand is to act from selfishness, which creates suffering. Do not demand. What comes, comes. Our benefit lies in following the guiding words; otherwise we suffer. Emotional feelings come and go; they cannot be controlled or sustained. But one must be of the nature of bliss. Unfulfilled desires become stored impressions, creating destiny and traveling with the subtle body beyond this life. The moon represents this changing mind, whose nature is attachment. The conflict between duty and action defines the spiritual path. Dharma is one's righteous duty, while karma is the action taken. A profound conflict arises when one's occupational duty demands adharmic, or unrighteous, action. The correct decision is to refuse such action, even at personal cost, for that refusal itself becomes good karma. People often live in fear due to overspecialization; developing multi-talents through karma yoga, especially by engaging in work one dislikes, builds resilience and spiritual energy. One must constantly analyze if any action aligns with dharma or adharma. Protecting dharma ensures dharma protects you. This mortal world is a field for action to purify oneself. Spiritual development depends entirely on one's deeds. One must purify the inner instruments: mind, intellect, consciousness, and ego. Overcoming attachment binding us to this world is difficult, yet it is the nature of the soul to form relations wherever it manifests. The first relation is with the five elements constituting the body. Every creature has the right to live here according to universal law, acting from its inherent nature. Humans, however, possess the capacity to discern good and bad, making their actions more consequential. The soul develops deep bonds with the planet and then with individuals, becoming enveloped in this attachment. Life is unequal, fluctuating between happiness and unbearable pain. We fear death and the unknown beyond, clinging to our environment and relations despite discomfort. Different traditions describe an afterlife, but the reality remains unseen. The bitter truth is death comes for all. Attachment creates fear, confusion, and suffering, while love brings freedom, happiness, and unity. Our deeds determine our fate; through selfless service, devotion, prayer, and meditation, consciousness awakens to the divine in all. The aim is for the individual soul to realize its divine nature, transcending all fear. "When I was born, all people were smiling, happy; I was crying... Karma and dharma govern the purification of the inner being. Śubh karma, good deeds, purifies the antaḥkaraṇa—the inner instrument of manas (mind), buddhi (intellect), citta (consciousness), and ahaṁkāra (ego). Aśubh karma, negative deeds, pollutes it. Our actions through the senses and mind create karma, judged by their quality. Destiny unfolds from this behavior. Before facing great trouble, one's good intellect is taken away, leading to poor decisions. Therefore, purify the antaḥkaraṇa through śubh karma. This awakens divine tendencies like compassion and love. When afraid or lost, pray with a heart full of love; God hears such prayers. Dharma is righteousness and discipline. Losing it awakens negative tendencies like desire and anger. Attachment is powerful and sticky. Even great sages struggle with it. Your spiritual practice requires immense patience, like a careful climber. Do not hurry. Look only to your own karma and purify your inner mirror through good thoughts, speech, and action. The eternal law of karma governs all existence. The purpose of human life is to overcome attachment, the cause of suffering and selfish action. Karma is performed through body, mind, speech, and wealth, originating from the causal body of hidden desires and habits. These latent impressions, or vāsanās, are the root of all sorrow and restlessness. They bind the individual soul in a cycle of longing and worry. Liberation requires transcending these desires, which persist even in heavenly realms. The fire of yoga and austerity can burn the seeds of past karma. However, as long as one lives within a body, new karma is created through every action and breath. Therefore, constant humility and surrender are essential, for not even God acts against this law. A traditional Indian kitchen, using many spices like turmeric cooked into food, supports strong bones and prevents diseases. Avoid processed foods, old bread, and excessive cheese. Eat a light, fresh breakfast and consume yogurt wisely, diluted and not in the evening. Do not overeat. A healthy body supports meditation and a harmonious family. Liberation does not come from physical exercises alone but from behavior, diet, spiritual thoughts, and grace. Meditate on the form of the Gurudev, which is the embodiment of wisdom and cosmic consciousness, without duality, like the sky. Follow the instructions of the Master without hesitation or argument. Yoga is not mere seriousness or closing the eyes. A yogi maintains control, withdrawing from or engaging with the world like a turtle drawing in its limbs. All creation holds energy, which can be shaped by its environment into negative or divine vibrations. The earth becomes holy where saints walk. An elephant bathing experiences joy as its heavy body becomes buoyant. Its thick skin is a perfect protection. After bathing, it throws dust on itself. Observers debate this action; one suggests it is for protection from insects, while another proposes the elephant seeks the holy dust from a saint's feet for liberation. Holy lands like India and rivers like the Ganga are sacred because they carry this divine presence. The truth of purification exists regardless of belief. All spiritual science seeks what is already within: the immortal soul and ocean of bliss within oneself. Kill the little ego to realize divine life. The highest human ideal is Guru Darśan, the direct seeing of the Master. This seeing ends the seeking for truth, freedom, and completeness, which the intellect alone considers utopia. Without this direct experience, there is no certainty or courage that liberation is possible. Time is that which kills all transient things, and this realization kills inner joy, leading to widespread stress and a longing that lacks life. We are not masters of life or time, lacking control and creating distress. Meeting Life embodied in human form makes the highest ideals attainable.
