The Universal Embrace of Yoga and Spirituality

Yoga is a universal science for harmony of body, mind, and soul, extending beyond personal health to encompass all living beings and the planet. The ancient Vedic principle yathā brahmāṇḍe tathā piṇḍe teaches that the macrocosm and microcosm are interconnected; what affects the individual affects the whole universe, and cosmic events affect us. Therefore, spiritual practice must consider the collective, not just the self. Seeking only personal peace is a selfish act. True spirituality combines Sādhana—personal practices like meditation and mantra—with Sevā, selfless service. This dual path purifies negative karma, reduces the ego, and cultivates universal, divine love that sees no boundaries. A story illustrates this: Pārvatī sacrificed a thousand years of her spiritual practice to save a boy from a crocodile, which was actually Śiva testing her compassion. This demonstrates that ultimate spiritual growth comes from selfless love and action for others, not from isolated asceticism. "Yoga is an ancient, scientific, timeless path that exists in this world—a path to God, a path to oneself, a path to health, harmony, and happiness." "Through Sādhana and through Sevā—these two—spirituality grows." Filming location: Vienna, Austria

The Soul and Karma

The soul and karma are inseparable. Karma is all action—thinking, speaking, doing. Every cause has an effect, and every action returns to the doer. The entire universe is activity, or Kriyā. The soul, or Jīvātmā, is the individual living force born from divine consciousness. This consciousness, like a still lake, generates the primal sound when stirred. This sound manifests the elements and forms the subtle body. The soul carries its accumulated karma from life to life, seeking new forms based on its actions. Good karma eases liberation; bad karma creates difficulty and pain. Realization of the true Self, Ātman, unties these karmic knots. One must be humble and not claim divine status, for such identification is ignorance. Cultivate positive actions and thoughts, for every step is counted. "Karma means action, cause, action and effect." "The body dies, but the soul lives. The soul seeks a new vessel." Filming location: Vienna, Austria

The Influence of Karma on the Soul

The effect of karma on the soul is explained through the knowledge of a Trikāladarśī Master, who sees past, present, and future. A realized being transcends the three worlds. A story illustrates this: a cobra approached Mahāprabhujī. He blessed it with mantras and water, liberating its soul. Mahāprabhujī explained the soul was a former devotee who spoke ill of his master, thus taking a lower birth. The snake endured heavy karma until seeking liberation. Another story tells of an arrogant tax collector. After death, he was reborn as a camel burdened with stones. A saint told the camel the stones were the weight of its past karma against the poor. Our deeds burden the soul across lifetimes. Human life offers the chance to resolve karma through devotion, service, and right action. Awaken and use this opportunity. "Mahāprabhujī said, 'The soul in this cobra was a great bhakta... he spoke ill of his Master... That brings the soul back into a lower body.'" "Śāgraṁdās spoke to the camel: 'These stones that have been placed on your back are not stones; they are the remnants of your karma, my dear.'" Filming location: Vienna, Austria

Influence of karmas on the soul (4/5)

Yoga is the universal path for human health, happiness, and spiritual realization. It is the most ancient practice, predating all religions. Yoga's techniques—such as prayer, meditation, and universal love—form the foundation for a positive life and are found within all faiths. The goal is self-realization, merging individual consciousness with the cosmic. Actions, or karma, are a matter of free will, but their results constitute a fixed destiny. Desire is the root of trouble and illness. True spirituality involves tolerance, respect, understanding, trust, and harmony. All religions aim for one God, and the ultimate identity is humanity itself. Work should be selfless, helping others without condition, and living with love while consciously renouncing attachments. "Yoga removes all the negative energy, and yoga makes a human a better person." "Karma is in your hands, meaning you can do what you want; it’s your decision. But the result or the fruits of your karma, of your actions, are not in your hands." Filming location: Vienna, Austria

The Influence of Karma and the Soul: Nurturing Life Through Love and Tradition

Our actions shape karma and affect the soul, which is the same in all living beings. We can help souls through love and tradition. A child finds happiness in parental presence, not possessions. Animals respond to gentle care with joy. Betraying trust by harming a being after showing love collapses this bond and creates heavy negative karma. Guiding children with religious rituals on holy festivals builds their hope and connection to the divine. Family unity, with grandparents and relatives gathering, provides the greatest healing for a child's soul. Traditional wedding ceremonies, witnessed by sacred fire, establish lifelong commitments. When a family member dies, prayers and ceremonies like the Pitṛ ritual help liberate their soul. This duty is universal; cultures worldwide honor ancestors, whose blessings return to us. Modern disruption of family and nature through greed creates global suffering. Our answer is spiritual development, vegetarian living, and prayer, which can positively influence other souls. "Life is life. The soul is the same; yet, it is said the soul is in an animal body, and we humans can help—yes, we can do much." "If you break your word before the fire, the fire will burn you, it will punish you. A human word is significant." Filming location: Vienna, Austria

The Nature of Bhajan and the Journey of the Sūrat

The nature of bhajan and the journey of the sūrat, or consciousness, is explained. A bhajan is a spiritual song containing God's name, philosophy, inspiration, and answers. It differs from simple prayer. Bhajans express the inner states and functions of the human body. The sūrat is likened to a virgin girl, representing one's pure inner feeling and intention. This sūrat travels through countless lifetimes, not the physical body. Its ultimate marriage is union with the ātmā, the true Self. When consciousness merges with the Self, all worldly identifications dissolve. This union is the aim of spiritual practice. "Without a husband, I was known as a married one. Without ātmā jñāna, I called myself free." "8.4 million different lives. I was wandering, birth and death, and I did not find the Satguru there." Filming location: Vép, Hungary

The Mirror of Consciousness and the Journey of the Ātmā

Consciousness is the transparent mirror of the self, which becomes polluted by negativity, ego, and intoxication. Spirituality is the purification of body, mind, and consciousness to reveal the pure ātmā. Impurities like māla, vikṣepa, and āvaraṇa cloud our inner vision, preventing the clarity of a seer who perceives past, present, and future. All experience unfolds within this personal consciousness, which can be spoiled quickly by bad habits. After death, the jīvātmā witnesses the film of its own life and karma in the astral realm, facing the consequences alone. One then takes a new birth based on that destiny, receiving a human body as a precious chance for liberation. Theoretical knowledge is useless without consistent practice to purify consciousness and break habitual weaknesses. "Everything is a play of the consciousness. For everything is played in the consciousness." "Ātmā is the Sākṣī, means the witness." Filming location: Vép, Hungary

Swamiji in Jaipur, Autumn (2/4)

Evening lecture from Vishwa Guru Deep Ashram, Jaipur, India on 22nd October 2008.

The Divine Dust of Grace

The spiritual lineage and the supreme refuge of the Guru's grace are expounded. India is the holy land and cradle of spirituality from which this wisdom originates. The divine paramparā flows from the Himalayan siddha Śrī Alakapurījī to Śrī Devapurījī and Bhagavān Śrī Dīp Nārāyaṇa Mahāprabhujī, culminating in the present Satguru. The individual soul is bound in a cycle of action and reaction, birth and death. Liberation from this cycle is not the ultimate goal. The ultimate goal is Brahma jñāna, the realization of oneness, which is attained solely through the Guru's grace. The Guru is the boat to cross the worldly ocean and the very ocean of consciousness into which the individual wave must merge. Practice your dharma, for dharma protects those who protect it. Seek not mukti, but the divine dust of the Guru's holy feet. "One in all and all in one." "I beg for the divine dust of your holy feet. I don’t wish for mukti, for mokṣa, because mukti itself is a servant of Gurudeva’s feet." Filming location: Jaipur, Rajasthan, India

The Power of Prayer and Ceremony: Helping Souls on Their Journey

Our actions shape karma and affect the soul, which is the same in all living beings. We can help souls through love and tradition. A child finds happiness in parental presence, not possessions. Influence of karmas on the soul

The soul and karma are fundamentally intertwined. Karma is action, encompassing all doing, thinking, and speaking. Every action has a cause and creates an effect, which returns as a reaction to the actor. This cycle accounts for all steps, thoughts, and deeds. The universe itself is activity, or Kriyā. The individual soul, or Jīvātmā, is a manifestation of the supreme consciousness, born from primordial sound and wrapped in the elements. This soul carries its accumulated karma from life to life, migrating into forms according to its deeds. Human birth is a precious opportunity. Pain and fear are manifestations of negative karma. Liberation comes from self-realization, untangling the knots of karma through good actions and meditation, allowing the soul to dissolve back into the universal Ātman. "Karma means action, cause, action and effect." "The body dies, but the soul lives." Filming location: Vienna, Austria

The Right Path: On Teachers, Techniques, and Steady Practice

The right teacher and correct technique are essential for safe spiritual practice. Many become teachers after brief seminars, creating personal fantasies that harm students' psyches and health. This leads to depression and accidents. Proper guidance prevents this. Steady, gradual practice is crucial, like learning to drive: start in first gear, then progress. Do not skip steps or experiment, as this causes suffering. Techniques vary by culture, but the essence is universal, like a horse called by different names. For health, specific diets like the Phalahārī and simple routines with boiled water aid purification and weight loss. When old issues surface, meet them positively with wisdom to filter and release them. "Therefore, it is very important that we have the right person, the right master, and the right technique." "Remain firmly determined and do not experiment in any way; that is not good. Those who have conducted the experiments suffer greatly." Filming location: Hamburg, Germany

Spiritual development

Spiritual development is internal and unseen, for feeling it grows the ego. A true practitioner never declares their own spirituality. Progress is felt as a growing sense of lacking devotion, much like regretting what more one could have done for another. The heart center is often clouded by ego and selfishness. A great saint opens the inner curtain of the self to perceive reality, dedicating nearly all time to divine connection. This requires long practice, like a stone polished over ages by relentless tumbling. Do not hurry, as the body may not withstand a premature influx of power. Serve selflessly, allowing others the opportunity for service. In spiritual gathering, there is no duality; the world is one family. Your spiritual practice is paramount; dedicate time to it. "Prabhuji, mere augun chitna dharo. Lord, do not see my mistakes." "Lord, if you do not accept my service... then let me serve your servant." Filming location: Strilky, Czech Republic

Opening ceremony of Ashram in Bratislava

Gandhījī's life demonstrates the unity of spirituality and worldly action. He was a deeply religious devotee whose final breath invoked Rāma. His teachings stem from Vedic wisdom, yet he respected all faiths. He taught that religion and politics are inseparable, as true governance springs from sacred principles. This light of yoga and Vedic culture continues to illuminate. The practice of yoga is a pure science for body, mind, and consciousness, though it is now often commercialized. The "Yoga in Daily Life" system was carefully designed with expert input and is a validated scientific method. Our spiritual lineage originates in the Himalayas, connected to the saint Ālakpurījī. Success requires firm resolve and self-discipline. Human life is for service, spiritual development, and realizing unity. Work for peace and protect all life. "A person who would say that religion and politics don’t go together, he or she either doesn’t know what politics is or doesn’t know what religion is." "Whatever you do, do with great saṅkalpa. Take the vow that you will be successful." Filming location: Bratislava, Slovakia

Anahat chakra and spirituality

The human journey is from mental turbulence to the heart's peace. The world is turbulent because people's minds and hearts are turbulent. Money is not a true loss; character lost is everything lost. Human life is the most precious diamond, given not for begging but for protection and Self-knowledge. People suffer because they are extroverted, chasing impermanent things. Remember you are human; this awareness protects from mistakes. The mission is to serve, help, protect, and attain liberation from rebirth. The soul is individual, but the Ātmā is universal; all creatures are one's own Self. Follow the four pillars: Dharma, your duty; Artha, sustenance; Kāma, righteous action; and Mokṣa, liberation. Education is missing, leading to distraction. Practice yoga always to regain direction. The problem is within; be the change you wish to see. The Anāhata Chakra is the heart center. The Ātmā, the Self, is felt there. When awakened, it bestows qualities like peace, love, and forgiveness. Its shadow brings the opposite. Seek the Self within. "Money is lost, nothing is lost. Health is lost, something is lost. But if the character is lost, everything is lost." "Be the change that you want to see in others." Filming location: Slovenia

Weekend seminar in Umag, Croatia (4/4)

Life is a problem, and the problem is life. Without problems, life is boring; with problems, it is unbearable. One must find the middle way. Accept the natural process of change, such as aging. Attachment and expectation lead to disappointment. Your spiritual wealth, built through mantra, is your true possession that follows you. Material wealth can be lost, but what is in your destiny cannot be taken. Dharma, artha, kāma, and mokṣa are the four pillars of a balanced life. Money is not bad if used for good. Renounce for others to find happiness. Protect your dharma, and it will protect you. "Without problems, life is boring. With problems, life is unbearable." "Dharma rakṣita rakṣitaḥ: if you protect dharma, dharma will protect you." Filming location: Umag, Croatia

How to accept?

Acceptance is the path to peace. Reality exists unchanged by your opinion. Suffering arises from non-acceptance. Accept reality and then seek protection. The ultimate protection is the name of God. Worship, belief, respect, and adoration dissolve problems. Attachment and expectation are the seeds of disappointment, which arrives through action or inevitable separation like death. Do not blame yourself. Your destiny, the fruit of your karma, contains what no one can take. "Be the change you want to see." "Don’t carry, don’t have, believe in your destiny." Filming location: Umag, Croatia

Weekend seminar in Umag, Croatia (3/4)

Human life is for self-realization, not mere existence like animals. Humans possess intellect and are created as protectors of all life, not destructors. The universe originates from infinite space and consciousness, held by divine energy. This energy manifests as creation through vibration, forming the elements. Our true self is the immortal universal consciousness within a mortal individual body. The purpose is to reunite individual consciousness with the universal. Yoga is the science for this union, guiding the awakening of inner energy through the chakras. This awakening brings love, wisdom, and bliss, not danger. Life should be enjoyed positively under guidance to reach the ultimate goal. "Humans are created as protectors, not destructors. Humans are the protectors of the entire planet." "Awakening of Kuṇḍalinī means awakening of love, universal love, awakening of wisdom, contentment, and bliss." Filming location: Umag, Croatia

Weekend seminar in Umag, Croatia (2/4)

The Viśuddhi Chakra governs purification, perception, and the release of tension. Negative thinking creates an inner prison of fear and anger, which blocks this chakra. Accepting reality frees you from this prison. The chakra's dysfunction manifests as throat issues, hormonal problems, and psychic pressure. Its purification brings health and clarity. Symbolized by a white elephant representing prosperity and protective energy like Gaṇeśa, this chakra is a gateway where consciousness can expand. Practices like Vajrāsana, deep breathing, and chanting relax the throat and activate this center. It is the final station before higher consciousness, where one must choose progress or fall back through negativity. "It is our thinking which disturbs us and disturbs others." "Accept. There is no other way. If you don’t accept now, after death, you have to accept." Filming location: Umag, Croatia

Weekend Seminar in Umag, Croatia (1/4)

Respect the laws of the land where you are a guest. Declare and pay tax on any goods you sell. True giving is the foundation of spiritual life, while taking what is not yours burdens your karma. Your actions, seen or unseen, bear consequences. Correct your conscious mistakes through confession and prayer to find inner peace. Every country has laws for security. You must respect them. Giving is noble, but you must follow legal procedures. What you give is noted in your karma and returns to you. What you take is also noted and will be taken away. You cannot hide anything. A story illustrates this: a man kept donated ghee for himself and suffered the karma alone. Another story tells of a thief who revealed himself by touching his turban when told it was burning. Your conscience knows. Therefore, give love, understanding, and forgiveness. You are born to give. If you have made a mistake, find how to repair it. Pray for forgiveness to remove the burden from your heart. "Be the change you want to see." "What you give will be noted in your karma and will return to you. What you take will also be noted in your karma and will be taken away." Filming location: Umag, Croatia

If we can we should give

The path of spiritual life is giving, not taking. Your hand should always be raised to give, not lowered to take, as taking is a kind of death. All religions teach helping others, and what you give or take is recorded in your karma. Yoga is a way of life, not just exercise; utilize its principles. Humans are imperfect and make mistakes, but be a hero and correct them to create inner peace. A story illustrates this: a king sought a thief who stole from him, promising no punishment and even a reward if the thief confessed. A wise Swāmī, who knows people's thoughts, held a gathering. After a display of power, the thief was identified. The point is that taking brings inner unhappiness. Therefore, give love, forgiveness, food, and understanding. You are born to give; be a channel for divine love. Be satisfied with what you have and be a giver, not a beggar. "Your hand should always be raised to give to someone. Do not put your hand down to take from others." "Be the giver. Do not be the beggar. And whatever you have, be satisfied." Filming location: Umag, Croatia

A Call for Compassion: The Imperative of Non-Violence

Non-violence is the supreme spiritual duty and the foundation of true religion. The ancient principle of ahiṃsā is universal, not confined to any single faith. The highest duty is to cause no harm, as life is sacred. No being has the right to take a life it cannot give. Scriptural commandments against killing are absolute and include all creatures. The consumption of meat is a choice against compassion, stemming from weak will, not necessity. Animals possess deep feeling and familial love; they experience terror and pain before slaughter, which permeates their flesh. Modern industrial slaughter inflicts profound cruelty, treating living beings as mere commodities. Your food shapes your mind, speech, and actions. A life built on violence harvests fear and suffering. The path to peace begins with mercy in your own heart and home. You must extend love to all creatures, making them your brothers and sisters. Protect them, do not eat them. There is no compromise in this truth. "Love each and every entity, if not more, then at least that much as much as you love thyself." "Ahiṃsā paramo dharma. Non-violence is the highest duty." Filming location: Washington DC, USA

The Witness of the Banyan Tree: Reflections on Guruji's Birth Anniversary

Divine incarnations manifest to guide humanity. Two types exist: Nitya, the perpetual saintly presence, and Nimit, who appears when worldly conditions deteriorate. Recognizing such a Master in one's lifetime is the greatest fortune, yet understanding often comes too late. Service to the divine is the true sādhanā, a path of tireless work and complete surrender of ego. This transforms labor into the nectar of divine play. Material possessions and youth are fleeting like sand or water held in the hand. What remains is the inner state reflected in one's outer environment. A true disciple welcomes correction, for it shatters the rock of ego that obstructs spiritual light. Life is brief and uncertain, like a leaf blown from a tree. "Only this banyan tree is the witness. This tree knows who Mahāprabhujī was." "Guru deva darśana dhan ho. Śaitān ānand ghan ho." Filming location: USA

The Essence of Mudrā, Mantra, and Sādhanā

Life is love and joy, not strictness. Mudrā is a psychic posture reflecting the self. The prayer mudrā signifies humility, safety, and protection. The heart is the source of love and blessings, while the brain can bring conflict. Prayer is the soul's call to the Lord, a remedy for anxiety and a guide when lost. A mantra is the essence of prayer, relaxing the inner self. Our treasure of happiness is within, closed by attachment, which leads to suffering. Detachment, not neglect, brings freedom. Destiny governs all events; therefore, renounce and enjoy. The path involves four practices: discrimination between real and unreal, detachment from worldly desires, cultivation of inner treasures like sense control and endurance, and a constant longing for liberation. These lead the soul to freedom. The Guru is the boat and captain across the ocean of illusion, through pure love and devotion, not miracles. Simple, loving devotion is superior to correct but artificial practice. "Prayer is the best remedy. When you don't see the way out, pray. The light will come, it will guide you." "Attachment will lead you to unhappiness. Detachment means that you are above all, but it does not mean that you neglect."

Inner Peace for World Peace: The Eternal Principle of Yoga

Yoga is the primordial balancing principle between infinite space and universal consciousness, creating harmony and unity. This unity is peace. All beings arise from a singular resonance that divided into positive and negative forces, leading to duality and conflict. Humans possess intellect and compassion to be protectors and liberators. True peace is realized by cultivating inner balance through knowledge and mercy, recognizing our shared divine essence. Individual souls experience separation, but the universal Ātmā within all is one. Conflict arises from ignorance of this oneness. The solution is to embody tolerance, respect, and understanding. Replace harshness with kind words and actions. Inner peace, achieved through meditation and righteous living, is the foundation for world peace. "Yoga means balancing—not āsanas, physical exercise, breath exercise, meditations, and concentration. These are the way to yoga. This is not yoga itself." "Jīva jīva bhakṣati—life will eat life... then we shall create one creature which will have dayā in their heart—mercy, compassion. That one will and should not eat the other lives, and that is the human."

The Inner Source of Peace

Peace is found within, not through external search. All religions guide toward peace, yet conflict persists because inner peace is lost. People search externally in material life, but peace cannot be found there. Do not depend on governments or politicians for peace. Religions must come together to guide people toward negotiation, not fighting. Media also holds power to promote messages of peace. The core need is not belief but universal love and wisdom. Guide people back to their inner self, past fear and ignorance. True peace begins in the heart. "Even if there is darkness, you will not find what you lost inside by searching on the outside." "Peace begins in the heart, and charity begins at home."

The Indescribable Universe Within: Space, Consciousness, and Yoga

The universe and the body are indescribable, containing vast unknowns. Yoga is an ancient, continuous system where each posture is complete, influencing all aspects of being. The body's full nature remains undiscovered. Vedānta philosophy teaches non-dualism, asserting only one ultimate reality behind all forms, like one moon reflected in many cups of water. This reality is the singular consciousness, Brahman or Ātmā, present within all beings. Space is categorized from the personal to the cosmic: the space within a pot, the heart, consciousness, the visible sky, the endless universe, and the void. These are ultimately the same space; divisions are illusions of duality created by form. Realizing the oneness of all space is non-duality. The universal consciousness, residing within the cosmic space, maintains perfect balance and harmony—this is yoga. It is the creative power that brings forth and unifies all creation. "Where there is truth, there is oneness. So, there cannot be two realities." "Yoga is that principle which is balancing the entire universe and harmonizing everything, maintaining unity." Filming location: Debrecen, Hungary

Love is life

The power to shape one's nature and destiny rests within one's own hands. A person is both a friend and an enemy to oneself, creating these relationships through one's own qualities. Human nature encompasses the potential for baseness, divinity, or wickedness. To see change in the world, one must first embody that change. Recognizing and awakening to inherent human qualities leads one toward the divine; to develop or destroy these qualities is a personal responsibility. Jealousy and distraction can corrupt relationships, even between master and disciple, as individuals may scheme to undermine others. The essence of the teaching is that the choice for life, death, success, or failure is always in one's hands until the moment it is not, like a bird held within a fist or a bullet yet unfired. True understanding requires listening completely, as seeing God in one aspect while ignoring His warning in another is a failure of awareness. The time to wake up and learn is now. "Man is himself his own friend, and also his own enemy." "Because the life or death of this bird is in your hands."

The Gift of the Guru: Mantra, Destiny, and Spiritual Recognition

Mantra is the essential light for spiritual practice. Life is a mystery, floating on waves of time, driven by destiny's wind. We cannot know the future, so we must be ready to face what comes. Recognizing spiritual quality is instantaneous, like a baby animal knowing its mother. The master's touch is crucial. Spiritual practice without mantra is like a body without a soul. Mantra is the torchlight to walk through ignorance's darkness. It is the key to open the door of your heart, a word that manipulates energy and can change the atmosphere. The universe began with a cosmic sound, the resonance of Oṃ, which is the uniting principle. From this sound, two opposing forces emerged: divine positive energy and negative energy, which are constantly in flux. Human life is a rare opportunity for self-realization among 8.4 million life forms. Your speech itself is a mantra; kind words are a positive mantra, harsh words a negative one. Therefore, the mantra must be given by a true spiritual master with a lineage. Without it, practice is senseless. Use this life for love, harmony, and spiritual practice. "Without mantra, any spiritual or yoga practice is like a body without a soul, a life without breath." "Mantra is that light, a torch light in your hand to walk through the darkness into the wild forest." Filming location: New York, USA

USA tour, Alexandria

The human mission is to realize our higher purpose beyond mere existence. We planted a peace tree, a symbol for a world needing peace. Recent violence shows a disconnect between our words and actions. Outer peace begins with inner peace, cultivated through yoga and conscious living. Every creature lives, but humans have a unique duty: to protect, serve, and seek higher consciousness. Yet, few possess true human quality. We must constantly remember, "I am a human," which serves as protection. Consider what it means to be human—it carries great responsibility. What makes us human are divine qualities like love, forgiveness, and kindness. Our prime duty is to awaken these, not merely pursue material gain. Greed disrupts harmony, while contentment brings happiness. The mission is to love all creatures and realize God. This creates good karma; negative actions like war bring negative karma and may forfeit the human birth. Life is for service, protection, and liberation. Time waits for no one; our actions always bring reactions. "Mother Earth has enough for everyone’s need, but not for their greed." "Peace cannot be founded anywhere. Peace can only be realized within ourselves." Filming location: Alexandria, USA

Sadhana maintains inner harmony

The Maṇipūra Chakra is the city of jewels, the center of true richness which is good health. This health of body, mind, and soul is realized only through daily practice, not through theory alone. Neglecting practice allows negative qualities like jealousy and anger to return, destroying inner harmony. Discipline is the inner master and key to success; its loss is like a setting sun bringing darkness. The practice awakens love for all neighbors, meaning every creature and element, without condition. This leads to freedom from being a slave to senses or dependencies. The ultimate happiness is devotion to the Supreme, an everlasting love, and the wisdom that comes when the Kuṇḍalinī's purifying fire burns all karma in the Maṇipūra center. This awakening reveals the inner fountain of joy and unites all in one spiritual family, protected by a pure consciousness no negative energy can penetrate. "Tons of theory are nothing compared to a gram of practice." "Discipline is your inner master. That best master will lead you twenty-four hours." Filming location: Slovenia

Simple living and higher thinking

Decoration expresses love for the divine, reflecting beauty into our consciousness. Hinduism is a religion of happiness, seeking prosperity and joy for all. We adorn our altars because all beautiful things belong to God, and we wish to see the divine in comfort and splendor. Our rituals and offerings are ultimately for our own benefit, as God desires only our love and inner feeling. The physical world is mortal and ever-changing; therefore, pray for the immortal, not for transient things. Do not dwell on the past or future, but be conscious of the present to create a beautiful future. Your destiny is like a shadow you cannot outrun, yet you must cultivate beautiful thoughts and actions. The guru's elevated seat is both a practical aid for vision and a symbol of the disciple's greater spiritual mastery. "God just is hungry for the love, the bhāva, your inner feeling." "Pray for the immortal. From the mortal to the immortal." Filming location: Vép, Hungary

The Torchlight of Mantra: On Spiritual Practice and the Guru's Grace

Mantra is the essential light for spiritual practice. Life is a mystery, floating on waves of time, driven by the wind of destiny. One must be ready to face what comes. Recognizing spiritual quality is instantaneous, like a baby animal knowing its mother. A true master's touch is crucial. Mantra is the soul of practice; without it, practice is like a body without breath. It is a torchlight to walk through darkness and cross the worldly ocean. The Ātmā, the Divine Self, is universal and everlasting bliss, distinct from the individual soul. The purpose of human life is reunion with this universal consciousness. Mantra is the key to open that door, a word that manipulates energy and can change the atmosphere. Positive and negative forces constantly interact. This human life is a rare opportunity for self-realization among countless creatures. Speech itself can be a mantra; kind words purify, while harsh words create negative energy. The genuine mantra must be given by a true spiritual master within a lineage. "Within you is the ocean of bliss. Within you is a fountain of joy. Within you is the immortal one." "Door of my heart, open wide I keep for thee. Wilt thou come, wilt thou come? Just once come to me." Filming location: New York, USA

Guru Mahima

Satsang and the Guru's grace are the supreme path to peace and liberation. True peace and bliss are found only in satsang, the company of truth and saints, not in worldly deceit. The remembrance and grace of the Guru destroy sins, purify the inner being, and lead to supreme Self-bliss. The Guru is the remover of darkness and the source of all true knowledge; no deity is higher. Without the knowledge gained through satsang and the Guru, suffering does not end, and one remains bound in illusion. Even great austerities cannot equal the power of a moment in genuine satsang. Without devotion to the Guru, one may have a human form but retains an animal nature within. Therefore, one must continually engage in satsang and practice devotion to receive the Guru's transforming grace. "Only the grace of the Guru leads to the supreme bliss of the Self." "Without satsaṅg, there is no jñāna, and without jñāna, there is no end to suffering."

Inner Peace for the World

Inner peace is found within, not in the external world. Everyone searches for peace and happiness. This search is the longing of the individual soul, a part of the cosmic Self, to return to its origin. Our true nature is peace, an ocean of bliss within the heart. The universe originated from cosmic consciousness through divine will and the resonant sound Aum. Individual souls emerge like waves on this ocean of consciousness, journeying through various states. The physical body is temporary, but the conscious self continues. Karma is created by our free actions; good or bad deeds yield corresponding results, shaping destiny. Liberation comes by awakening universal love in the heart, transcending negative qualities like greed and anger. Cultivate divine human qualities through good company and self-inquiry. The ultimate human aim is God-realization, which brings inner peace. This inner peace, when realized, naturally extends to create peace in the world. "Though the sleeping room is dark, the needle which you lost in the sleeping room, you cannot find outside." "Who is rich? One who does not desire anything. And who is poor? One who wants to have more and more." Filming location: New York, USA

The meditation posture and hand gestures facilitate spiritual realization. The thumb and index finger joined represent the union of individual and cosmic consciousness, which is Yoga. The three separate fingers signify the three guṇas; transcending them leads to oneness. This mudrā harmonizes the body and tranquilizes the mind. Another essential gesture is the prayer mudrā, symbolizing humility, peace, and an open heart. It signifies having no harmful intent and connects us to the heart center, the seat of the divine Self. Spiritual practice involves key disciplines. The first is viveka, discernment between the real and unreal. The second is vairāgya, detachment from all that causes suffering. The third is cultivating the six inner treasures like sense control and endurance. The fourth is the intense desire for liberation. Prayer is a call from the soul, and a mantra is its essence, acting as a key to unlock the inner treasure of joy. Have faith; the Guru is the boat to cross the ocean of illusion. True wealth is wanting nothing. Love and devotion are paramount. "The aim of our practice is to realize oneness with the cosmic Self; that union is Yoga." "Where there is no love, there is no life. Everything needs love." Filming location: Alexandria, USA

The Union of Love and Vision: An Oasis in the Desert

Yoga is the uniting principle of balance, harmony, and peace. This principle is as ancient as the universe itself, arising from the interplay of cosmic space and consciousness. From this divine resonance, the five elements and all life emerged, governed by the dual forces of positivity and negativity. Humanity was endowed with intellect and compassion to be a protector and liberator within this creation. True peace is realized not through conflict but by cultivating inner knowledge and love, recognizing the universal soul within all beings. The path involves tolerance, respect, and understanding in daily life, using kind words and compassionate actions. World peace begins with individual inner peace, achieved through self-inquiry and meditation. "Yoga means balance, harmony, and unity. Where there is balance, harmony, and unity, there is perfect peace." "Jñāna, knowledge brings peace; ignorance brings fight." Filming location: Alexandria, USA

Satsang for the occasion of Guruji's Birthday

Divine incarnations manifest to guide humanity, yet recognition often comes too late. The fortunate realize the Master's presence in life, avoiding later regret. Service under the banyan tree was a profound spiritual discipline, involving predawn hymns, collecting alms, and meticulous cleaning, all performed with surrendered joy. This labor was divine communion, where fatigue vanished in the Master's energy. True devotion is tested through humble service and the dissolution of ego, as illustrated by the parable where even the divine submits completely. The outer ashram's harmony reflects one's inner state. Value those who correct your faults, for they help remove the heavy rocks of pride and doubt obstructing the spiritual path. "This tree knows what Mahāprabhujī was, and this tree knows how fortunate I was that I was mostly in the service of our Divine Lord." "Please keep on correcting me lifelong, Gurudev. Your blessings should be there." Filming locations: Alexandria, Washington, USA.

The Influence of Nutrition on Life

Our nourishment directly influences our consciousness and life. Creation arises from the union of Puruṣa, cosmic consciousness, and Prakṛti, matter, linked by Prāṇa. When matter is pure, prāṇa is pure and connected to cosmic consciousness. Taking a physical body introduces impurities, disturbances, and ignorance, making us feel like separate individuals. Cosmic laws govern existence. The highest is Ahiṃsā, non-violence. Every action has a karmic reaction. Therefore, yogis advise vegetarianism. It aligns with non-violence and avoids absorbing the individual vibrations present in animal prāṇa. Plants have less differentiated consciousness, offering purer prāṇa. Modern food modification diminishes both nutrients and prāṇa. A balanced vegetarian diet with fresh, organic, and minimally processed foods best supports purity across all our energy layers, the kośas, aiding our return to unity with cosmic consciousness. "Prāṇa unites consciousness with Prakṛti." "As long as we have slaughterhouses, we will have battlefields." Filming location: Vép, Hungary

A Retreat in Hungary: Reflections on the Upaniṣads and Spiritual Stories

The Upaniṣads are the essence of the Vedas, requiring one to sit at the master's feet and understand with the heart, not the intellect. Self-realization needs both knowledge and devotion, like a bird needs two wings. The ego is strong, making obedience to the Guru's instructions difficult. Spiritual growth often involves searching outside ourselves for what is only found within. Stories illustrate these truths. Education and guidance are vital, as is helping one another. Practice must combine Karma Yoga to cut the ego, followed by the discipline of Rāja Yoga. Trust in the Guru is paramount, and all teachings ultimately point inward. "The Upaniṣads are the essence of the Vedas. 'Upaniṣad' means to sit at the feet of your master and to listen." "A bird can only fly if it has two wings. It is the same with us. We need knowledge to understand why we are doing our sādhanā. We need to understand how we can grow in bhakti." Filming location: Vép, Hungary

The Timeless Wisdom of the Vedas and the Dynamics of Life

The timeless wisdom of the Vedas addresses the unchanging principles of the universe, unlike modern science which evolves with time. Vedic science speaks of fundamental, timeless elements like Agni and Soma, representing convertible matter and energy. This wisdom applies to life's dynamics, such as the interplay between the male principle of Brahm, which is free, and the female principle of Māyā, the active energy that encircles and gives form to creation for the purpose of union. Human life is precious because it holds the unique potential to rise to the divine. This potential is realized by understanding and navigating desires, which are the operation of Māyā. Life is governed at the emotional heart level, not the intellect. True interpersonal connection and spiritual progress require surrendering the ego and learning to love, which is the essence of bhakti. One must dissolve desires, not suppress them, to cross the barriers Māyā creates and fulfill life's purpose before the body expires. This path involves meditation to be present and to understand the dualities inherent in existence. "Modern science changes with time. But the wisdom in the Vedas is for all times to come." "Human life is important because human beings have the potential to rise to the capacity of Bhagavān Himself or Herself." Filming location: Vép, Hungary

A Gathering in Vépr

A profound societal shift is challenging the natural foundations of love and family. A mother's inability to feel love for her unborn child signifies a deep crisis. Society is governed by women at its core, yet modern influences are distorting essential roles. Educated mothers now participate in female feticide, seeking to avoid passing on perceived suffering. The purpose of marriage extends far beyond procreation; it is the Gṛhastha āśrama designed for mutual spiritual growth over a lifetime, ultimately transforming worldly affection into devotion. Contentment requires understanding and dissolving unrealistic desires, then distributing surplus. Dreams are a vital spiritual tool; we must learn their symbolic language to receive guidance from higher energies. Media, as a business, often fails its educational duty by fostering unnecessary desires. "Love cannot be created." "The major purpose of marriage is to spend those 50 or 60 years in harmony and in spiritual growth, so that we can cross the barriers of the death and rebirth cycle." Filming location: Vép, Hungary

The Value of Human Life and the Purpose of Practice

Spiritual practice reveals the true value of human life and its mission. Human life is a rare opportunity to awaken inner qualities beyond mere animal functions. Devotion to spiritual practice, not just theoretical knowledge, leads to success. Reflecting daily on being human, its meaning, and its purpose protects against wrong actions. The mission of human life is to protect, serve, and realize the divine within. An unbroken life-energy flows from the first seed of creation through all beings, carrying purpose. Living by external information creates false masks; true wisdom arises from within. Happiness comes through giving, and the divine potential resides equally in every heart. "Tons of theory is nothing compared to a gram of practice." "All those who believe in giving will always be smiling. All those who believe in taking will always have gloomy faces." Summer seminar in Vep (5/13)

The divine presence is love, manifest in all things. Practice is superior to intellectual discussion. God is omnipresent, existing in every atom and creature as universal, equal love. This love is best approached through a personal form for easier connection. Negative thoughts return to harm the thinker, just as a boomerang returns. Spiritual gatherings are for purification; attend as you are. The core of any spiritual work is consistent practice, not theoretical debate. Utilize time for sādhanā, mantra, and mauna. "God is love and love is God." "Tons of theories, nothing compared with a gram of practice." Filming location: Vép, Hungary
